How could anyone butcher an E Type like that, especially with an electric motor!!!Never apologize for the length of video, the content is worth every second!! We can always go to pause. Great video, cheers from the USA!!
Hi My favourite has to be the 1/4 scale Aston Martin bing driven away at nearly the end of the video. This would definitely fit my Garage. Seriously Rick another excellent video of just the correct length. .
My 2002Ti was the exact same orange colour, wish I had kept it now. An excellent video a lot of work getting it ready I think. Taking the dog tags is a lovely gesture RJ. And yes I did watch it all.
I have to agree about the Mk.1 Jaguar, absolutely stunning, my favourite ever car closely followed by the Mk.2. Really enjoy these videos, look forward to many more, especially the ones when you are fettling your old classics.
I Think the four headlight version of the Alvis were TE21 and TF21 models. The Bicester Scramble meeting are great fun with lots of great cars, Cheers Bob
Ahhh, a civilized channel at last! Sunday and live races. I made the mistake of correcting an error stated in the chat and received what I think is an insult. It is apparently a parochial British insult and being American it made no sense to me. I am sure if I offered the same information on this channel it would receive a polar response! I thoroughly enjoy your videos sir and you have greatly expanded my feeble knowledge of the British automobile. Thank you sir!
Thanks for another ( long) video you covered some great cars. My favourite would have to be the Marina estate I think also the 100e pickup was rather novel.
Another wonderful video, Having seen one of my old Warwick Wright Chiswick 205 GTI demonstrator’s (J443KOY) in an earlier vid, you then come across F804OLD which was a car I sold when I first joined the dealership. You’re quite right, it’s fitted with the 1.9 spec alloys which was a popular upgrade with owners but not a factory option on the 1.6’s. At that point was a newbie to the dealership which was a large factory owned Peugeot dealer on Chiswick roundabout in West London, I was given a base spec 309 XE, F900 OLD fortunately I sold it pretty quickly a 205 XS which was superb little car, Thanks for another terrific vid.
Great and varied content as usual Rick , the Rolls towards the end is a 1921 Silver Ghost , so now 102 years old !.The Ghost was in production from 1907 to 1924 so this is quite a late model. The ' baby ' 20h.p model came out in 1922 and was the first to adopt front wheel brakes and the only Rolls ( UK made ) model to use horizontal radiator shutters .This car was registered in Manchester so not far from where it was built in Derby !.
Terrific meeting . This is when l wished l didn't live in Devon ! Incidently , you were right in that the 1.6 was wearing 1.9 wheels . The 2002 turbo must have been a replica as they were , as far as l know , only built in LHD . Thanks .
On the subject of the length of video. I really like your long videos. People can always stop the video and start it again later. So please keep on doing them.
Another great walk around with some superb examples .... I've never seen any Ford Puma's featured as yet !! .... I'm sure they must classify as a 'Classic', or at least a future classic, and I'm sure there must still be a few out there ?
Geeeez ,,,, I had to stop video over the mobile cinema van .. WOW,, opel cadet, I believe the mercury had single headlights in 57 and it's a 58 front clip you see.. which would I take home? The 35 Riley van .. was the 3 window coupe a rover straight up at the 1 o'clock hour?? Nice what you call a pickup conversion escort / Ford ,, lots of photo worthy cars
Very enjoyable video, what would I take home 1st the Bournemouth reg Standard Vanguard, 2nd one of the MK2 Zodiac / Zephyr saloons, in 1974 I gave a packet of woodbine cigarettes for one from my neighbour Mr Crawte the car I learnt to drive in. And 3rd the dinky as you say the Escort pick up / ute so cute. There are others like the Princess and the beautiful Mercedes Benz unfortunately lowered...why??? Each to their own I suppose. Not the one for sport cars as such, but you can't beat the curved lines of a sleek E Type Jag, a few beauties there I see.
A super video Richard - what a huge variety of interesting cars! I just wish we could see them on the roads instead of the characterless modern stuff. Any idea what the mean-sounding car with only half a body at 0:49/50 is?
Favourites: #1 Sunbeam 37:57, #2 Rover SD1 Vitesse 33:24 and #3 Morris Marina Super Estate 1:20:24. (Too easy to pick the Italian cars, the British ones deserve some attention too!)
40:19 You missed that it's actually a very rare Alpina Roadster S. Many people don't know how incredibly well engineered those cars were in fact, and the Alpina version with its optional LSD and slight tweaks really showed it in the rare cases when someone actually tracked it (of course they're equally brilliant on the road but you can't see that brilliance in numbers in that case). The lap times those things achieved were amazing and far, far more powerful cars with far larger engines like Mercedes SLK 55 AMG were totally outclassed. The Z4 basis was already a fantastic platform with all the fundamentals right (for an open-top roadster with its chassis stiffness compromises...). The world's best professional performance testers Sport Auto found that already the Z4 3.0si was competing against the SLK 55 AMG in dynamics/performance! Andreas Bovensiepen was probably at that point back from working for BMW, having learnt suspension design and tuning from the legends there. So it's no wonder that by adding the LSD and doing his magic to further optimize the suspension he got the Roadster S to perform so brilliantly (and the additional power gave its own small contribution). I guess around those times BMW also lost many of the old suspension gurus, as BMW often had Bovensiepen/Alpina develop some of their models' suspensions as well! I don't know if they still to this day have Alpina develop their suspension setups (in connection with tire design etc.).
E28 M535i was available with the dogleg Getrag, normal 5 speed and the 4 speed auto. Owned a few back when they were a good value used car. Think they look better without the full body kit and like you say, so much nicer than BMW's new cars.
Too many new cars displayed at these shows, no matter how exotic or pricey. They should have a rule of cars being at least 30 to 40 years old minimum if not older.
I guess some events do have an age cut-off, others are more relaxed with dating, I guess it makes for a more varied display and it's easy to skip the cars/eras not of personal interest. Thanks for checking this one out.

Yes sir, Campagnolo produced and still manufacture top end cycling components and made auto road wheels which are quite collectible now.
Many thanks for another wonderful show and upload.
Thanks for watching it Psycho63!
great thanks
I,m amazed at your knowledge of cars british and foreign, you clearly love classic cars and make a lot of people happy with these videos, Great stuff!
Thanks Gordon, I've picked up a few nuggets of info over the years but still get plenty wrong :-)
How could anyone butcher an E Type like that, especially with an electric motor!!!Never apologize for the length of video, the content is worth every second!! We can always go to pause. Great video, cheers from the USA!!
It's not something I would do personally, no
I also hate to see cars butchered like that................
really truly thank you for this video, i enjoyed ever second.
That's great to hear major 007, it was a fab day
Hi My favourite has to be the 1/4 scale Aston Martin bing driven away at nearly the end of the video. This would definitely fit my Garage. Seriously Rick another excellent video of just the correct length. .
Thanks Alan!
Excellent video. I was with you all the way.
Thanks Lance!!

Thanks for checking this one out Vince, hope it didn't extend your breakfast schedule too much :)
@@oldclassiccarUK 🤣 I had a very LARGE breakfast this morning.
I like the little Panhard. Pretty rare and definitely unusual cars.
🚗🙂
I agree they are great little things
Nice selection once again 👍👍👍 be good to see the lorries next week...
Yep should have some lorries appearing on the channel again quite soon!
great blog mate Gary from Crewe👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Gary!

Thanks so much for watching these uploads, more soon including a bit more from in the garage here!

My friends Red Mr2 , a local car right at the end. Lovely to see the Matra rarity there. A stunning rene Bonnet D'jet!
Cool, thanks for watching!

Great that you've recognised cars that you once sold/drove, thanks for watching

Ah I hadn't thought about lhd/rhd with the BMW, if I see it again I'll take a closer look.
We get some good motor shows in Devon.
On the subject of the length of video. I really like your long videos. People can always stop the video and start it again later. So please keep on doing them.
Thanks, yes I think that's how many people digest the longer vids, in manageable chunks!! Thanks for watching.
Mr Biddle loves a cortina mk1!👍👍😊🇬🇧
Having followed a Mk1 Lotus Cortina for many miles recently, so do I :)
Another great walk around with some superb examples .... I've never seen any Ford Puma's featured as yet !! .... I'm sure they must classify as a 'Classic', or at least a future classic, and I'm sure there must still be a few out there ?
Still see them around a bit, I'll look out for them at future events now!
Thanks for showing the SAAB
There were a few there, which is your favourite?
My first was a green 1973 99 coupe. My last was a red 1988 900 Turbo convertible. I like all SAABs.

The grey metallic car is a Lancia Flaminia, thanks for watching

Thanks, yes it's an excellent event with a huge variety of vehicles in attendance, even a few commercial vehicles which I always make a beeline for :)
A super video Richard - what a huge variety of interesting cars! I just wish we could see them on the roads instead of the characterless modern stuff. Any idea what the mean-sounding car with only half a body at 0:49/50 is?
I think it's Rolls-Royce, or at least major parts of one
We used to get the whole under 12 footy team in the volvo estate! 😂packed in like sardines
We had a nice turnout this morning for a morning cars and coffee. But then a cold rain put a damper on things. I just got the hood up in time.
We've got three events penned in this b/hol weekend, the first had fine weather, today quite damp, and fingers crossed tomorrow will be ok!
Was just the right length and makes me feel so much better about the 30 minute one I just posted! 😎
Twin vertical headlights indicate an Avis TE21 or TF21 later than the TD21.
Ah yes thanks for the reminder :)

is that terrain the former military domain ? If so, I used to tip military clohing there !
It was originally an RAF airfield, not sure if it saw other military use between then and now
It has taken a long time for people to warm to Chris Mangle BMWs, a very long time. 😆
I see what you did there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still very lukewarm myself about them!
@@oldclassiccarUK We used to call the Bangle's Bungles...................

I've got my eye on an E28 sat doing nothing but I don't think the owner will sell. I'll keep at it though. Thanks for watching.
great to hear you swear at 1 04 lol great show ...
Did I? don't remember, thanks for watching!!!
The BMW Z3 coupe (13:40) is commonly referred to over here as the clown shoe. Seems a bit harsh, but still funny.
If more people collected classic cars there would be less strife in the world.
If more people had active hobbies full stop, rather than zoning out watching cr*p on TV, it'd improve many things I think
