This has helped me massively thanks for the video. I was struggling on learning how to get the speed using skyward ascent. I didn't realise panning up made it way faster

It is not clear what you mean by "dash", there are 6 total flight icons, being: Surge Forward, Skyward Asscent, Second Wind, Whirling Surge, Aerial Halt, and Bronze Timeclock. Note I am left and handed and use a right-handed mouse to move the dragon forward with both mouse buttons engaged sometimes I also use the up and down arrow keys with my right hand to move the dragon forward, but rarely when flying (I use the mouse most often). I hit the icons with my right hand across the 1-6 function keys as outlined above. Please explain exactly how you accomplish keeping the speed high by both moving the dragon forward AND using the vigor icons. From the comment below it seems you are saying that the "dash" - meaning forward acceleration of the flying dragon, is accomplished by simply tilting up, which has not been my experience. In any case, how do you tilt up between the relatively short intervals between rings? More explanation of the technique for specifically gaining acceleration would be helpful. I have made it through a few challenge courses, the ones with longer spaces between rings so I can use a vigor with Skywayd Ascent then tilt up and quickly back down to keep speed high and decent generation of additional vigor. BUT with tight spaces and obstacles between rings there does not seem any way to do this. Note I start out with 4 vigor on every challenge race even though I currently have a total of six. I have made some headway but the mechanics of Dragonflight are very poorly explained by Blizz. Thoughts?

When I use dash I am using it to mean the surge forward so my strat is to surge foward aim camera up hit skyward ascend then follow with more dashes to keep the speed high. Skyward ascend aimed up correctly gives you the most speed and if you surge and space them out after you can keep that higher speed. The timing I use is based off the wings of the dragon when they return to horizontal after the surge I hit the next surge. Also it really depend on the race what tricks you can use some of the longer races are about just not losing momentum which is why I recommend an addon but you can do it without if you can keep track of the wind effects. Also if you can get good at quick flicks of the camera after skyward you can manage it on some of the straighter course what I do is aim down then tilt up and then hit ascent and quickly push my mouse back down to try to keep the momentum moving horizontal.
