- Don’t ask me why, but for some reason I completely forget to call this the Mini Cooper Electric, but the Electric Mini!
Anyway, to business.
Welcome everyone to the new Mini Cooper Electric!
Mini’s first attempt at an EV was a big hit in the UK. As it had all the star Mini qualities. But being an EV it did lack in range against other cars in its class.
Now in 2024, Mini has a busy year ahead with the new Mini Cooper electric being 1 of a handful of new models to be launched this year.
With the new Mini Cooper Electric, Mini have listened to criticism and have increased the EV’s range. Even with the smaller battery.
Three new colours are available, Sunnyside Yellow, Blazing Blue and Legend Grey.
The Mini Cooper Electric comes as either an E or SE spec.
Classic, Exclusive and Sport trims. Then Level packs 1, 2 and 3.
E - 40.7 kWh, 184bhp & 290 Nm. 0-62 in 7.3s. Range - 190 miles
SE - 54.2 kWh, 218 bhp & 330 Nm. 0-62 in 6.7s. Range 250 miles
Charging is 75 kW for the E and 95 for the SE.

Like your review I think the mini looks good ,love the two tone colour ,I prefer the blue one .I still love the style of old with big central display and switches underneath , I love minis my first car was a 1980 mini 1000 which I owned back in 1989 .minis have always been great one and you should own one in your lifetime 😊
Thank you for your comment. I completely agree. The Mini is an iconic car and the original was almost a right of passage. The way this latest generation looks back and pays homage to the original is great.
Looking forward for this coming to the states! Just leased a Mini SE EV a couple months ago!
I’m sure they’ll be a massive hit in the US also. The improvement in range is a big factor.

30 grand plus and you need to fork out extra for a speedometer 😮
There is a speedometer on the infotainment screen but highly recommend the Level 1 pack. You get extras with it.

Well, it’s more Mini than Babby.
Why is it so noisy in the car, that would drive me mad.
Oddly I’m not sure but the mic has picked up a bit of background noise. It wasn’t that loud inside. Hence hearing the sound bites when changing experiences.
