This is the car that saved Porsche and has always been renowned for it’s handling . There was an option to have the ‘Boxster’ logo deleted which many chose to facilitate easy cleaning and waxing .
Had a MY00 986 Boxster s (Manual). Got me into the whole Porsche thing. Had that for 3 years. Loved it. Traded it for a MY14 981 Boxster s (PDK). Fantastic gearbox. Have just taken possession of my MY24 Boxster GTS (Manual). Once you have a Porsche you'll never not have one. Fantastic (and reliable - albeit expensive) cars.
Yep, very true. I bought a 2.5 a few years ago for £1500. So far I have put £4000 into it, including some upgrades. Still needs about £10k more IMO. Petrol Poodle just drove it on his channel.
Lovely car, I just got one very similar spec to yours s - schmess! keep er above 4k anbd you 'need' no faster car on public roads. May i just say, you hear that clunck over rough surfaces - that is not normal nor must you suffer through it as a 'porsche' thing. its time to refresh your lower control arm (coffin) bits and/or various suspension bushings, will make a world of difence and erase that clunk ; transform it into a damn plesant tightness that you get from factory. Had the same issue on my 996 911 years back - will be the first job i do on this current strippper 986 boxster. 'hairdressers car', my left foot. For those who know.. there is, no substistute. ;) Enjoy her in good health and great vid
@@scottfindley1345 thank you, and I really appreciate the advice. I’ll definitely get it looked at again. I’ve got the car back from a refurbishment and will be doing an update video.

I agree with the title. I spent $15 .5K USD for my Boxster S and have over $12K plus into it. it is worth the cost of entry and upkeep.

I bought a 986 for 1500, 3 years ago. Have spent zero on it ❤
Lovely looking car M9, sounds a lot like the Smart strangely...
It’s a double-triple.

Lovely low mileage car. Nevwe heard of anyone prefering the 4 spoke wheel to the 3 spoke though!😄
@@jonedgar5996 well, I am a bit weird.
No, just changed mine for a 3 spoke. I guess if you are a big 993 fan you might like it.
@@purple-porker-productions that might explain it.
No oil pressure ?
@@bruniau no gauge on this.
Is that a child seat?
@@jameshunterford4099 yes, fun for all the family!
@@Chodcam Sorry, was meant to say a “Porsche child seat” … I looked at a lovely Boxster S, but was concerned about car seat travel for a toddler
@@jameshunterford4099 it’s just a generic one, seems to fit well. I used to use it in my MGF.
@@Chodcam I’ve wanted a Boxster for so long! Now I know a child seat works! Dangerous territory 😂
@@jameshunterford4099 now’s the time! It’s so practical, I could use it for work too. Loads of luggage space.
