Still too expensive. Means they gonna charge more or less the same for the 5080. Better wait for the price to crater when the newer GPUs release. For 4080, you need a newer rig too.
That’s just not what happens though, even if we think it should. As much as I wish it would drop when the 5000 series comes out, it doesn’t work that way. With crypto mining and AI, all of these higher tier cards are gonna hold their value even with the new models released. Yeah they’re gonna take a hit, but they’re still gonna be expensive. Just look at the 3090 TI series of cards right now, And see how expensive they’re still going for. The only reason graphics cards used to drop substantially was two things, either the new cards were so much more powerful, and crypto mining was not really a thing. Since we’re starting to reach the end phase of Moores law, that advances are just not as dramatic and take much more power and in turn heat to achieve. This makes the older version of cards still very competitive.
@@ktms1188we'll have to see what the price to performance is for the new cards. Its obvious the consumer aren't interested in expensive midrange card. And I don't thin nividia cares about selling GPUs to consumers. Its like the longer we wait, we can finally afford a 4 year old card. Nvidia has to give use better performance, even marginal for the price or no one is going to buy. There isn't anything that's driving demand of GPUs this gen. I'm not planning to upgrade, unless I really need to. I'm buying on the used market anyways for better prices.

The thing people tend to forget is how hard and expensive it is to get new graphics cards when they come out and not just for a few months, it will be years again since Nvidia know how to play the game very well now. The scalping is only getting worse each year. Then the second part is even if you bought a 4080 super right now, they actually hold the resale value, even with the next GEN of cards. Been using the 4080 (Non-Super) with a 13900K and 64GB DDR4 in my gaming PC.
5950X 3080Ti EVGA FTW3 Ultra 32GB DDR4 in my Streaming/Recording PC I have been loving it.
Got an Asus version straight from Asus for 999 with free shipping. Took it out of the box and gave it the eyeball check and put it back in the box. Waiting on the Gen15 CPU's and Mobo's to come out, got to build a new editing rig. Leaving team Red (on my editing rig anyway!) and going with Intel's CPU for the codecs and engines that AMD just flat out refuse to address. Plus we're going to start doing some 3D work (Blender) so this upcoming build is a must.
Iv been using the 4080 Zotac AIRO Extreme, it’s kinda loud fan noise wise but has been overall great
go with AMD 6800, 7800xt, or up coming 8800xt. you will be just fine. don't reward nvidia greed. That AI bubble is gonna pop in a few years, if not sooner.
Don't reward AMD greed either. They might actually clown harder than Nvidia.

While at the same time Nvidia was around $45. So who won? By the way I am not a fanboy of anybody if Nvidia keep going up all the power to them. If you don't care about greed, then pay more for less, personally I hope more people makes GPU, my requirement is real low. I am running a 6700xt, and play 1440p just fine. Don't plan to upgrade until rdna 5 or Rtx 6000 generation.

the cheapest one in canada is almost 1400 canadian dollars lol . its way over priced for our economy . its time to buy a console , gaming isnt worth dumping thousands of dollars on it .
There is no difference other than the price drop to 999 you can overclock a normal 4080 and it wold be the same GPU in performance. Still does not matter much way too overpriced either way

Answer to the question is no. NVidia's drivers are garbage, they haven't been able to handle DisplayPort with multiple monitors properly for over 10 years. The last 3 driver releases haven't even been able to detect my second monitor at all. It's unfortunate I have to replace my monitor with a FreeSync one in addition to getting a new card to get away from NV.
Yes I will bye 4080 for 666 or better 500,I don't like to be see worker to bye a GPU.
Unless you are a hard core content creator/streamer, workflow person.....seriously....just walk away from Nvidia.
they have more market share now than any time in the last ten years. nvidia is winning despite amd fanboys crying on every post about gpus
@@veilmontTV the other thing to consider is that the demographic for gpu sales is not just gamers anymore, bitcoin bros and now prompt engineers probably make up more of the market than the average gamer does, nvidia only grew exponentially in the last ~3 years. coincidentally gamers complaining about nvidia pricing also started ~ 3 years ago.
