இந்த பதிவில் தேனி மாவட்டம் குரங்கணி மலை தொடரில் அமைந்துள்ள கொட்டகுடி என்னும் அழகிய மலை கிராமத்தை பற்றி பார்க்கலாம்.இந்த கிராமத்தை சுற்றி கும்கி படம் முதற்கொண்டு நிறைய சினிமா படங்கள் படமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.பழங்குடியினர் மக்கள் வாழ்ந்து வந்த இந்த கிராமத்தில் தற்பொழுது வெகு சில பழங்குடி மக்களே உள்ளனர்.மலையை சுற்றிலும் விவசாய நிலங்கள் பார்பதற்கு கண்கொள்ளா காட்சியாக இருக்கும்.குரங்கணி என்பது இந்தியாவின் தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள போடிநாயக்கனூரில் இருந்து அணுகப்படும் மேற்குத் தொடர்ச்சி மலையில் உள்ள ஒரு மலைவாசஸ்தலம் ஆகும் . குரங்கணி என்றால் தமிழில் "குரங்குகளை நகைகளாக அணியும் இடம்" என்று பொருள்.இது தென்னை , மாம்பழம் , அனைத்து மசாலாப் பொருட்கள் , மற்றும் காபி ஆகியவற்றை வளர்க்கும் தோட்டங்களைக் கொண்டுள்ளது . குரங்கணியின் பொருளாதாரத்திற்கு குன்றுகளில் மலையேற்றமும் கணிசமாக பங்களிக்கிறது. 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏற்பட்ட தீ விபத்தில் இப்பகுதியின் வன வளம் முற்றிலும் எரிந்து நாசமானது.கிழக்கில் குரங்கணி மலைகளுக்கும் மேற்கில் கொழுக்குமலைக்கும் இடையே ஒரு மலை ஓடை செல்கிறது . மலைகள் அடிக்கடி மாறும் வானிலை, குறைந்த தொங்கும் மேகங்கள், குளிர்ச்சியான வளிமண்டலம் மற்றும் பலத்த காற்று ஆகியவற்றால் வகைப்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன, மேலும் இந்திய கௌர்ஸ் , குரைக்கும் மான்கள் , லாங்கர்ஸ் , காட்டு பூனைகள் , சிறுத்தைகள் மற்றும் புலிகள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு வகையான தாவரங்கள் மற்றும் விலங்கினங்கள் உள்ளன .
குரங்கணியில் 6க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிறு ஓடைகள் உள்ளன. இவை அனைத்தும் கொட்டக்குடி ஆற்றில் கலந்து, பின்னர் வைகை அணையில் பாய்கிறது.தேனி மாவட்டம் போடிநாயக்கனூர் அருகே உள்ள குரங்கணி மலைப்பகுதி மலையேற்றம் மற்றும் இயற்கை நடைப்பயணத்திற்கு ஏற்றது, குரங்கணி கிராமத்தில் இருந்து மத்திய கிராமம் வழியாக டாப் ஸ்டேஷன் வரை 12 கி.மீ. கேரளாவில் உள்ள மூணாறுக்கு வருபவர்கள் அடர்ந்த காடுகளிலும், சமவெளி புல்வெளிகளிலும் நடந்து மலையேற்றப் பாதையில் நுழையலாம். மலையடிவாரமான குரங்கணி கிராமத்தில் இருந்து டாப் ஸ்டேஷனை அடைய நான்கு முதல் ஐந்து மணி நேரம் ஆகும், திரும்பும் பயணத்திற்கு இரண்டரை மணி நேரம் போதும்.
அருகிலுள்ள மூணாறு மலைகள் மற்றும் கொழுக்குமலை மலைகள் 8,000 அடி (2,400 மீ) உயரத்தில் உலகின் மிக உயரமான தேயிலை தோட்டமாகும் .
அழகர் சாமியின் குதிரை , மைனா , கும்கி ஆகிய படங்கள் அங்கு படமாக்கப்பட்டன.
மத்திய கிராமத்தில் 200 மக்கள் மற்றும் 50 வீடுகள் உள்ளன. டாப் ஸ்டேஷன், போடிநாயக்கனூர் மற்றும் மூணாரில் தங்கும் வசதி உள்ளது. மத்திய கிராமத்தில் இரண்டு குடிசைகளுடன்.
In this post, we will see about the beautiful hill village called Kotakudi located in the Kurangani mountain range of Theni district.Many films have been shot around this village, starting with the film Kumki.There are very few tribal people in this village which used to be inhabited by tribal peopleThe farmland around the hill is a sight to behold.
Kurangani is a hill station atop the Western Ghats accessed from Bodinayakkanur in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kurangani literally means " The place which wears monkeys as its jewels" in Tamil.
It has estates that grow coconut, mangoes, all spices, and coffee. Trekking in the hills also substantially contributes to the economy of Kurangani. The forest resource of this region was completely burnt in the 2018 fire.
A mountain stream passes between Kurangani mountains in the east and Kolukkumalai in the west. The hills are characterized by frequently-changing weather, low-hanging clouds, chilly atmosphere and strong winds, and are home to a wide range of flora and fauna including Indian gaurs, barking deer, langurs, wild cats, leopards and tigers.
Kurangani has more than 6 small streams. All join into the Kottakudi River, where they then flow into Vaigai Dam.
The Kurangani Hills near Bodinayakkanur in Theni district are suitable for trekking and nature walks, including the 12 km walk from Kurangani village to Top Station through the central village. Those who visit Munnar in Kerala can also enter the trekking route by walking down the dense woods and plain grasslands. It takes four to five hours to complete the trek from Kurangani village, the foothills of the Hills, to reach Top station, while two-and-a-half hours is enough for the return trip. Hikes begin 35 km from Munnar and reach Top Station Theni district.
The nearby Munnar Hills and Kolukkumalai Hills are the world's highest tea plantation at an altitude close to 8,000 feet (2,400 m).
The films Alagar Samiyin Kuthurai, Myna and Kumki were shot there. The best months to explore the Hills are from August to December.
Samabalaru falls is the source of Kottakudi river which serves the drinking water needs of Bodinayakanur.
The central village has a population of 200 people and 50 houses. Lodging is available in Top Station, Bodinayakanur and Munnar. along with two cottages in the central village.
