I loved (and still love) it’s sportiness and it’s design; and was so close to buying it. but then two problems arose: the markup was insane and i couldn’t find any in manual. I waited for months on end before i looked elsewhere. Eventually i fell in love with the new integra which is the car i have now. but every time i look at a gr86 i always imagine what if…. it would be a whole different story if any were available at msrp and with a manual
i got very lucky with my car and found it at a dealership nearby with a $7k markup. I told them I wouldn't be buying the car if it had a markup and was about to leave but I guess they wanted to get rid of the car so they sold it to me for msrp. I'm not a fan of the new integra really. As a car itself its alright but I don't see it as an integra. It just looks like another acura and to see so many people buying them with the CVT hurts me.
@@omgr86 i believe the reason they called it the integra was that the old model (ilx) wasn’t selling as much even though it was an entry level car. so as a (frankly genius) marketing move they redesigned the ILX with design cues from the old integra, thus the name. I made sure to get it in a manual, as it was something i didn’t wanna look past.

@@joshgts9675 you do realize 23 hp and 20% torque is nothing on a 200 hp car. Merely a welcome bonus. The most important factors remain unchanged. Once you go from a 500 hp car to this, the power you feel is identical and you drive it for the chassis, steering, seating position, etc.

@@Damo1998 Have not been on a dyno and its not done being tuned. I am remote tuned so its not an all in 1 day tuning session. Tuner got me good on 6psi while he's on a 1week vacation for the holidays. Im at least 250whp right now on 6psi I plan to make 350whp but will rarely use it. I want maps for certain power levels as I plan to daily it. 6psi for track/dailying/cruising 8psi for street/dailying/togue And 10psi for street/roll racing/pulls

i would say its worth it to get the premium model. The seats are alot nicer and are heated as well. Missing that right now when its 30 degrees in the morning

Just slap it in manual mode. A lot of people in the car community aren’t great drivers, so they will tell you manuals is better because they don’t understand how to drive an auto like a pro. The best drivers know how to use both and exploit both their strength and weaknesses.
even if you aren't the best driver, me for example, manual transmissions give pleasure in the driving experience. I dont want to be that guy but I will prefer a manual in a sportscar 90% of the time

I have its predecessor, the GT86. I wouldn't swap it for a Lambo if you gave me one. As of today (2024-11-10), my local dealership still has a UNIQUE (!) black GR86 from a tuner and two (!) limited edition BRZs for sale. Just saying. :) Enjoy the GR86, it's a real beaut!

They should do a different “stage” of the Gr86 Initial D inspired with a turbo and a black hood from the factory producing more Hp, the gr86 is already one the best looking/preforming cars from any car manufacturer out right now, but I’d trade in my mustang for that if they did it 🔥

as much as Toyota hypes about the 86 being a manual, the 1st dealer orders of the 86 were all automatics with $5k mark-ups in Cali. i couldnt find a single manual near me. now that i see more manuals in stock, im still not willing to pay the mark up. that's money youll never ever get back on a resale.
I would never pay a mark up for this car and i didnt. I was fortunate enough to find a dealer that worked with me and brought it down to market price. It really sucks that dealers are marking up all cars nowadays
Love the car to death but it would do so well as a BMW product like the Supra, with BMW power output and tech. Power and tech are the two things holding me back from buying and making me want to just save for a B58 Supra
@@omgr86 I mean maybe the bolstering is better but I've never found a problem sliding around in mine when I do donuts I live in Florida so the heated seats are ok I think if there was a heated steering wheel then theyd have a real game changer of an option with it
