    I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this kind of reviews. I am teaching my rising second grader with Dimensions and was hard. Now i learnt so many things! I used to do 2 lessons in one day (one morning and afternoon) in less than 45 min, too much hurry up, not using too many manipulatives.... I was tempting to switch but i think my problem was the things i mentioned above. I watched "do a lesson with us" for 2 grade and was so helpful and inspiring!!! Thank you!

    I am currently using Dimensions Level 1 with my daughter & she LOVES it and is doing so well. I love how it's broken down and you have more than one way to solve the problem & how much practice you can get with the textbook, & workbook!
    I haven't gotten the teacher's guide yet though I've only gotten the home instructor's guide but I may definitely look into the teachers guide for Math when I order 2nd grade for the upcoming school year.

      Hi there, thank you for watching! Yes, there are definitely some pros to the TG. We especially love the storybook additions!

    Thank you for doing this side by side comparison and answering our questions! For some reason math has been a struggle for us this year (3rd grade). We're using Primary mathematics 2022 and its "fine." Watching your videos has gotten me excited about Dimensions again (we used it for K and loved it). I think I'm going to try Dimensions and pay for the videos to make it easier on both of us. I'll stay tuned to see what you end up doing for 4th.

      @@knowledgebynature8480 I’m thinking if you don’t have to buy the teachers or home instructor guides the videos are a pretty good value!

      @@heidig8739 I found this on Singapore Math regarding the teaching lessons:
      "These videos work in conjunction with Dimensions Math books. You must have Textbooks and Workbooks to use alongside the subscription. The videos also do not replace Teacher’s Guides, which offer thorough explanations of concepts, answer keys, and extra activities."
      Might need to review a few of the sample videos to double check about omitting the guides. You can forgo the guide it really is not bad cost at all.

      @@knowledgebynature8480 good info! I assumed the videos would replace the teachers guides but didn’t think of the answers. I may start the year without them and just add it if I feel we needed them. There are certainly a lot of options with Singapore!

    😁 Thanks for putting this together! After starting in PKA, we are 1-2 weeks away from finishing KB. I have Primary US and Dimensions 1A ready to go. Trying to decide on the path last minute, but pretty sure we're sticking with Dimensions! Thank you for sharing :)

    Watched till the end! I made the huge mistake of showing my daughters PM2022 and now they both want to do that. We've been doing Dimensions since PK, and I decided to try out PM2022 for 1A. We're doing both but I just can't bring myself to like PM2022. The guide is overwhelming to me, the jumping around for projects, I just don't care for it. My bad. Should've kept just Dimensions and learned not to do every single problem.

      PM 2022 really is adorable, I don't blame them for liking it...however I'm like you, I just didn't enjoy the guide...at ALL! It is so hard not to look at all the other options, but I honestly think it takes some time to adjust to the knowledge that we don't have to do it "all". Now that I can comfortably do that we have made Dimensions work well for us.

    Did you like using Dimensions without the workbook? I remember a video you did saying you were going to make some changes.. did you like the changes?

    • @knowledgebynature8480
      @knowledgebynature8480  Год назад +1

      Yes, I find that we get plenty of work with using the textbook. Because I have the Teachers guide I have images of the workbook and may write out a few questions if I think she needs more practice.

    Thank you for this video! Very helpful. 😅😊
    I’m currently doing dimensions level 1
    I was just curious about primary bc I know you tend to go back and forth.
    I still feel like if they are both super similar in sequence then is the way of teaching a bit different? The wording?
    Or why else move from dimension to primary ? Just curious.
    I appreciate all the time you put into your videos.

      One of my favorite things about these types of videos is I find a little bit more about myself during the process.
      So during this process, something I realized about Dimensions is that it offers so many explanations for how a student comes up with a problem. It shows that "this way" is fine or if they find the answer "that way" it's also fine. My daughter does this a lot, she finds answers much differently than the original process. Dimensions that is created to accommodate for numerous children in a class room advises the teacher that their student may arrive at the answer in a different way then the teaching. That is really helpful for me. Plus if we aren't getting the concept Dimensions also provides those alternative routes for finding the answer.
      As math gets more and more difficult I wonder if Dimensions is the better path for me as a teacher because it's providing more insight into the ways the problem can be properly worked out.
      I hope that all makes sense!

    When you were going back and forth between Primary and Dimensions, which workbook did you assign? I am torn bc my daughter likes the Primary Us Edition workbook bc it's so visual, but I think I might like the teachers guide of Dimensions.

    • @knowledgebynature8480
      @knowledgebynature8480  Год назад

      I wouldn't use them simultaneously, so I would use each versions own books. We are using Dimensions this year and I am actually finding that the student textbook is offering enough practice for her. We are actually writing in the TB and that provides her enough practice. Also we are using the teaching subscription service for Dimensions which is pretty awesome!

    I am planing on using demensions kb for my son who is asking for more math since school math is "boring" he says.
    And demensions 3a for my daughter who needs more practice with mental and logic thinking who is strugglingin math. But she is in 4th grade. So I want to use this as a review.
    I will be doing this after school.
    Do you think the Teacher's guide and the student textbook should be for them. And not get the workbook. Thank you
