I agree! I got them from a library. To be fair, several folks I know over the years swear by, and enjoy, the grid method. I prefer to free-hand my drawings. Part of my "style" used to be a distorted face. Those were the portraits that sold the most years ago. I do think the grid is useful and helps teach proportion. She does rock!!! Glad I found her on RUclips.
I want to do what she does for a living. I have several of her books, & although I hate grids, her instruction has worked wonders with my colored pencil & graphite pencil work. Trying to find a way to apply it to oil pastel, too. Lee Hammond rocks!
You are a very talented & an amazing artist. 🎨 You are a great art teacher. I have a lot of your books & I love your books.📚 I taught myself how to draw from your instructional drawing books. Your instructional drawing books have helped a lot. Thank You! God Bless!
I found this video extremely helpful. It was so understandable to show how I could achieve the same as the artist. Thank you it was a pleasure to listen to.
You are so brilliant of a teacher!!! I wish you would have your own channel with tutorials. I have a few books from YOU and they have helped me so good! God bless you.

Hello... I have used the Polychromos, and find them wonderful pencils to use. While each pencil is different in their formulation, and will give different results, the Polychromos do burnish well. They may not have the heavy build up like Prismacolor when applied heavily, but they will give you good coverage and deep color. I think you will be able to get similar results... Hope that helps... Lee
Thanks for the answer, i have bought a Lyra Splender to burnish and you are right. And i have purchased prismacolors by amazon to compare the brands and results. but the price is prohibitive 30 euros for 12 prismacolor.i will let you know my impressions
what kind of pencil lengthener are you using? i want to get a few but i'm concerned about ordering them online because i've heard a few complaints about them not fitting prismacolor premiere pencils...btw i have a few of your books on painting with acrylics and they've helped me a great deal !! thank you!!
Excellent tutorial but YOU didn't mention what types of color pencils , your using Zoe, and also I have a collection of your books, I do use then quite frequently, for reference to my practicing thank YOU, awsome profesora
I would be worried about "wax bloom" when "burnishing" one way or another imho. Perhaps a fixative might be the answer. But rather than burnishing many layers to achieve a specific hue, it might be better choosing a deeper/different color and apply one layer. Of course this might be more work. I know a botanical artist that uses this technique. Just an observation. Prismacolor covers "wax bloom" on their FAQ page.

Can Faber Castell Polychromos be burnished the same way? how can i achieve this look with faber castell? i live in spain and is very difficult and expenssive to get prismacolors here
@damarcus008 I use to use Crayola pencils and they are for people that are not really serious or beginners. I would go to a art supply store even if you can't get Prismacolor right now they are other brands that are much better. You would see the differance right away.
I like the way it blends in when you put the yellow on top of the peach!!!
Waiting for more videos from Lee hammond
I LOVE this woman and her ways of teaching!!! You are so beautiful!! I would love to have you as my art teacher but I'm content with your books.
