And this guy passed away caused by a very rare type of brain tumor at the age of 34... One of the saddest days of my life. Through his wonderfull music he was like a family member to me. Imagine how much more he could have given to the world. 20 years later but I still could not get over this tragedy...
I'm a 46 yeah old man who just lost his twin brother, we loved this band and would listen together to them when we got together. Your reaction has touched be so much thx you x
Chuck was a "magician" on vocals and on guitar and even my wife who never liked metal (she is into Classical Music and ballet) loves Death because of Chuck's compositions.
I was nit a fan of dark angel and wasnkind if dissapointed gene hoglan was playing in death. Boy I was so wrong. The drums in this album are the epitome of death metal drumming.
Dont forget about who gene leaned for his greatness with death, the best metalic drummer ever sean reinert. He played on the human album and was faster than gene and more jazz infused also
imo the best live version is from the dynamo 98, but only because the footage quality is more or less decent. his voice was way high pitched in the 1998, and despite everybody saying he intentionally changed it- shannon hamm (his guitarist from the last album) said it wasnt intentional change and that even chuck himself couldnt say why it changed, "i am doing all the same as always but it comes out this way"
Great watching your reactions to one my all time favorire albums I saw death London synbolic tour 95 best gig of my life. Met Gene to super cool guy one of best drummers on the planet. chuck always in our hearts❤😊🤘
Death is like that band you knew without knowing. Its a band that had you hooked before you even realized it was the OG death metal band that created the genre. Same with Possessed. Death and Possessed are the 2 bands that started the death metal scene.
yeah you don't quite hear music like this every day, not even every decade... Symbolic is my favorite album since '95, which is my favorite year for music by the way :) The number of metal jewel released that year is frightening : Symbolic, Draconian Times, Power of Inner Strenght, Above, Mandylion, Demanufacture, Storm of the Light's Bane, The Gallery, Behind Closed Doors, Domination, Imaginations From the Other Side, Destroy Erase Improve, ...And the Circus Leaves Town, NOLA, Alice in Chains' Tripod... Anyway can't wait your catch on "Misanthrope" haha!
Hello there! Love the reactions ! If you prog metal but a little bit more punchy i'd recommend a french band (not Gojira lmao) named Hacride, they have an album named Lazarus which to me is one of the best 2000's metal album, i would love you to react to it and also introduce people to that band with you, its an amazing band that kind of flew under the radar because it wasn't signed to a major label...
@@neonskepetunije i would say My Enemy, it is the closing song, it is a bit long (9min) but it has amazing instrumental and atmospheric parts. Otherwise i would say Act of God who is a strong hard hitting song that has a good emotional outro and is shorter than My Enemy. Thanks for the content by the way, keep it up 👍
I'm from Florida, and I have to say that Death along with Skynyrd & the Allmon Bros are the bands that have locally defined and influenced what Florida modern music is.

Many incredibly talented artists die so young...RIP Chuck 💔
@@neonskepetunije Thanks for remembering him and giving him the respect he deserves!
Me too my friend! :(
@@Szabby999 There are three artists I really mourn: Chuck Schuldiner, Thomas Forsberg (Quorthon/Bathory) and the Scottish novelist Iain M. Banks
Felt the same way. Sad day indeed. Greatest riff lord of all time, Chuck S.
Lovely to see how you immediately understand Death. My favorite band of all time. Saw them live twice I still tear up when I think about it.
Aww man, wish I could've seen them live 😭
My favorite band, favorite album and favorite song. Insta like!

I’m watching this after having listened to the song hundreds of times before. And I’m crying. WTF?? How good these guys were? Like out of space.
I find watching the young 'uns discover the stuff I've loved for decades has become like a drug, seeing the joy on their faces is just awesome
lol...we understand if you cry, it IS beautiful
You're going to love "The Sound of Perseverance" album. Especially Voice of the Soul
Gene Hoglan is the drummer who's played in several bands, look him up. He's known as "The Atomic Clock".
Also, *Gene* has said he intends to stay fit to be able to play the songs he's recorded even when he's *70* years old 🤘!
Death's magnum opus 🤘🏻 the original symbolic version then British edition 🔥
Highly recommend ‘Bite the Pain’ off Sound of Perseverance. It’s amazing.
Thanks so much for the recommendation!
Honestly i dont think this guys have a song under 9/10
Please tell me you've done a video on Voice of the Soul. That one always gets me in the feels. Every time. Even after hundreds of listens
Not yet, but that one is next on my list!
Found this song when I was 11. 17 years later, and I still listen to it every other day.
Este grupo te deja sin palabras.
We miss you Chuck ❤
I love this song sooo much. This album!!! And Death 😈🤘🏽
The perfect music to make love to 🥰😂🤘
The drumming blows my mind everytime. Sometimes i listen to this song on a loop while driving.
Same, only I listen to it on a loop when someone else is driving, and they don't really like it 😂

Yes. Richard was fantastic, too

im so eagerly waiting for the "perennial quest" reaction. chuck said his songs are like an open book about him and his feelings.
