3 tips on Flip Glitch: (cuz it be finicky) 1) Listen for the snap (not required, but it's a good indicator of success) 2) Sometimes it takes a second attempt (more so recently) 3) if the part has variations (contextual parts) instead of Flipping, Cycle back & forth. Pretty much 100% success, I use this a lot with the tubular landing gear, and many other parts. Great video. I keep intending to build frigates & freighters... yet always end up with a fighter.
This must be a mouse and keyboard thing because I've seen other m&kb builders say the same thing about using the flip glitch. I use a controller and I never have to wait, it's just flip flip B, and the part is in place, 100% of the time.
My OCD can’t get pass the terrible mobility!!! The art of building a endgame ship with a lot of cargo, a 30lyr jump , 100 mobility, and a 130 speed is an art form!! A lot of thought and sacrifice to even the balance and maximum performance… I cringe when I see mobility under 90.. because it’s sooo easy to design a cool ship if you ignore mobility
i balance them, also need the best engines in the game too. I'm at like 12-13k cargo with mobility in the 70's or 80's. and i have the step down from best engines. (Need to do walters quests for the better ones)
You don't have to sacrifice mobility if you are careful with your build. My Capybara Mark II build is much smaller than the one shown in this video, has a base cargo capacity of 8325 (14,423 with skills) and still maintains 100 mobility. Still though, I like to watch other people's ship builds. I get a lot of good ideas that I would never have thought of on my own.
It's quite a nice looking ship. I've noticed in the comments that "anything less than 100 mobility is unacceptable" and "60-100k is a cargo ship". Well, horse for courses, I suppose - everyone plays their own game. I like your "fairly mobile" cargo ship. One big cargo carrier is enough, so it might as well be pretty! The moment you change ships it's all magically compressed into the space available anyway. BTW: I've found that storage boxes can be useful since they'll automatically dump their contents into cargo if the ship is edited (eg a tick on one colour slider) regardless of whether the cargo hold is full or not.
Flip always works when i duplicate the part and or release it somewhere on the grid first then move it and flip it. It doesn't work if you place it straight from the menu and try and flip it.
I came because of the "cargo" ship description... but decided not to add it to my build list - because for me "cargo" has got to start at 10k+! :) Nice looking ship though!

It can also be very dependent on the order in which you place the pieces.

My favorite color scheme. :)
Looks kind of neat but it's absolutely terrible as a cargo ship, which defeats the entire purpose. Decent build tutorial though.
Cargo ship...lol Very nice ship but definitely not enough cargo for my liking. 60 to 100k is a cargo ship.

How did you get the deimos wing inside Nova Cowling on the 3rd layer
What a ship…you should be proud 😊
