Today during the Arctic cat 650h1 rebuild series I decided to change the steering post bearing as preventive measure. I'm glad i did decide to change the bearing as though nothing seemed bad at first once the bearing is out i soon learned that the steering post bearing was bad. the bearing rollers didn't roll smoothing anymore but were tight and hard to roll. Now that the ARctic cat 650h1 is all back together I don't think it is possible to change the steering post bearing while the plastics are on it would be very difficult and almost impossible

👍 thank you for the visual. It would seem everything is coming off yours at only 10 years been off of mine of 25 years sitting outside and still being used heavily. Mine has turned into all new bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints.
Then the frame was rusting, so it has been all sanded down and repainted as well. Now to bend up a new exhaust pipe since the old one has more holes then Swiss cheese.
None of the warning or function lights worked.
I ordered a new gauge cluster with Speedo and RPM gear position a actual temperature gauge as well as all The Idiot lights. Also added a horn and mirror so it can be street legal.
Had already done the calipers and rotors.
Got to love the repackable wheel bearings. Had I known they were that easy it would have been done a while back.

Yes one less problem done. Does the light on the camera burn a lot of battery time up ?

What is that part called that he put the lithium grease on? My bike is completely missing that part and the steering very loose.

Nice work Jerry, was wondering if you ever attempted the limit repair on the 4 wheel actuator?
