Had the exact situation with my 550 and couldn’t get it out. After being told that it just “pulls out” I’d about given up. Saw this a couple of days ago and just tried it with my vice grip slide hammer. Came out with 2 fairly easy hits. Thank you so much for this short and to the point video.
Just want to send a huge "Thank You" for this video. After a day and a half of trying everything that didn't work, we found this video. And BAM worked like a charm!!
Great video!!!! wish i would've found this about a month ago when i had this exact issue, jumped on the arctic cat forum and got the help i needed that way, but this would've been a great tool to have. Thanks so much for doing this i'm sure its gonna help out a bunch of ppl for sure!!!!!
I went to remove the CV axle today in my side by side and it came apart were this one did now I know how to remove the rest of it this video was a big help thanks
1st off, I have Never commented on anything before. I was trying to get it off for hours. Come a cross you're video. Had it off in 10seconds, NO lie 10 Both side. Thank you
Strange. My 2003 AC 300 4x4 has a female end on the CV joint cup and the male end shaft (with a cir clip) is in the differential. It just pulls out. It's almost backwards of this setup.
I know this is an old video, but I had a rear axle go bad. It was this type with the ball. I cannot find this type anywhere. They all just have a circlip. My dealer cannot even order them it seems and when he called arctic cat they acted like they know nothing about the ball type as seen in this video.
@6gearz I got question for ya, hope you can help. Do you know what size the retaining clip is? I bought one from the parts catalogue (22mm) but it seemed small and had to force it in around the axle. I got it in but now I'm worried I'll never be able to pull the axle out because of it
hi I have a 2012 Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000 I have removed all Axel's before I'm having a problem the ball will not push in it seems like it is frozen I have the axle completely out like shown on your video pushed in with a screwdriver I used everything that's possible do you have any ideas what could be going on keep the videos coming they are great
The splines are probably seized up in the diff. Try some PB Blaster and possibly a pry bar, but be very careful not to crack the diff housing. If you sill can't get it I have seen guys fashion up a gear puller to keep the plunger down and a slide hammer to jerk the CV housing out. Hope this helps.
@@austinhenderson851 you have to push and pull at the same time. Sometimes the axle is actually frozen in the diff. So, if that's the case you'll have to negotiate that as well.
I have a 2007 arctic cat 650 4wd h1 and i pulled the axle out out the axle coupling just like in the video but mine does not have a ball in the center of the cup like the one in the video its just smooth any ideas on how to remove it
Chancelor Trice I am not familiar with the AC atv's, sorry. If I were to guess it sounds like a typical axle that just pulls out. Might try attaching a slide hammer to what's left.

Yep, glad it was helpful.
Hey how do you take the guts out? Broke mine but can't get to that.

Does a polaris have that push button man I hope I've been dreading this.....
Did you ever figure out if Polaris did or not
Mine looks just like that but has no button on the inside of it how do i get it off
I have already kept 400 trying to get that center cap out but it don't have a ball solid right there how do I get it removed
It's not an OEM axle then. It likely is just stuck. Some guys have success using a slide hammer.
Thank You for this video
What Years Does This Cover ?? I Have a 2003 .. Thanks

How did you get the bearing out of the cv axle cup
It was already destroyed so it just fell out This video is for after you've broken the CV.
@@marcoradat the cv axle is broke in the same place and the bearing is loose but every time I push in it doesn’t do anything.

my inner axle won't detent to side out any suggestions
could be filled with crud if your seals are bad. It's just going to take some corursion. You could also ask on wildcatforums.net
What if I have a Polaris rzr? Same concept?
No, they just pull out.
@@marcoradat yeah….not this one lol thank you though.
@@heatherturner6637 I'm sure it has seized inside the diff, pretty common.
You can just pull the whole thing while intact. No need to go through all that. It'll pop right out with a few good tugs.
joenissan Whole point was to show how to do it if you broke the inner CV.
AHHH ok gotcha. sorry
