Here's a fun little new thing I've been dying to share with you guys- some cut content from GH5 on the Wii! I didn't know about this stuff until a few months ago when I saw the article on The Cutting Room Floor (linked at the bottom of the description), but the Led Zeppelin inclusion really surprised me. Does this imply that we were close to getting Led Zeppelin in the full release? We still have this official Neversoft chart of a Led Zeppelin song, so even if it never made it to the final release this is still hella cool. I'll be uploading the full band charts today as well, so keep an eye out for that one at my normal upload time. The outro on drums is killer.
I pathed this song using CHOpt, which is made for Clone Hero so it doesn't perfectly make paths for GHWoR, but it gets me close enough. There's another 200 possible on the first activation and it might be possible to move the 3rd activation to get more ticks, but this score is pretty good.

This song was converted to a custom in Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock using Onyxite's conversion toolkit. There are various discrepancies from the original chart that can be introduced because of the conversion process, such as a lack of band moments, no accented drum notes, no sustains on drums, and other various things.
The Wii version Guitar Hero 5 had 25 songs left in the files that were not used in the final game. Most of them are songs from previous games or would show up later in other games or DLC, but among them were 5 unique songs that did not appear in any GH game; this is one of them. More info here:

What a shame we never got any official Led Zeppelin songs on GH and RB, although if you think about it this band and Jimi Hendrix are the polar opposites of each other: at least you can find Led Zeppelin songs on RUclips, but for the Jimi Hendrix ones: You're better off having them purchased than trying to find them here lol.
I always wanted Led Zeppelin music in GH, this is kinda like a childhood dream come true
A member that worked on The Beatles Rock Band also mentioned in an interview a few months ago that a Led Zepplin Rock Band was also pitched and almost happened (before TBRB) if i remember correctly

And you’d think you know Neversoft’s style of placing SP phrases throughout the song. Nope! During the second to last phrase of the song, I was certain THAT was the last phrase of the song, so I was like, “Why are you even whammying? It’s an ES1 path.” But, nope! At time stamp 5:16, BAM! Another SP phrase! I was proven wrong! Yet again, it’s Guitar Hero 5, a game where star power phrase placements are kinda weird. But, seriously, besides that one time only thing, Neversoft would never place the last two phrases of a song so close in proximity of each other and towards the end of the song.
You're kidding me. We were this f___ing close to having LED ZEPPELIN in a Guitar Hero game.

Even the greatest bands of all time fall victim to corporate greed and never get a chance to have younger generations listen to their music. What a shame that terrible contracts are usually the reason bands don't get into Guitar Hero and Rock Band, while some still manage some leeway to get into the games. Guitar Hero Kiss could've easily been a possibility, especially with how they were a major part of WoR and some of the GH5 DLC. I would've bought it in a heartbeat, or a Led Zeppelin DLC Pack if they allowed it, even if I had to get it for $5.49 or $9.99. Oh well...
This would have killed on the disc, I guess a Zeppelin license was too expensive and/or ambitious. Come to think of it, I don’t think ANY Zeppelin made it into EITHER Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Damn shame too… I’m sure people would have killed for it.
They got a live recording here so they thought it would be a good compromise but it still wasn’t working
When this song first poped up on a video back month or so i think i said which what might be the case, this was most likely a testing song that they took to liking and experimented with, to low of hopes that this would have been in the game [perhaps the fact that its only on Wii too]
Ill be honest i take more interest on other songs listed, since quite a few of them [and on that medley] arent actually exportable at all, so im wondering if Activision actually planned full exports but it never came to light [or just again, they were testing how charts from WT work on 5]
Whoa, I never thought I’d see a Led Zeppelin song charted for a Guitar Hero game. The reason why there’s never been any official disc songs or DLCs? I think somebody told me Jimmy Page hates these kind of games. Although the bigger question here is if this was for GH5, how come the drummer and singer on screen weren’t doing anything during the song?
The chart was converted to work as a custom in WoR and the animations get lost in the conversion process.
So much for Activision buying the license for the song....
(Not sure if they use this song for anything else.)

Jimmy Page allegedly was the one with a gripe against GH and RB. I have no idea about the backstory of this song, but it's certainly very interesting

@@aWiseMoose they were among the artists who refused to give their masters to these companies, and rather you figure how to play it on an actual guitar.

Not as far as I'm aware. All the cut GH5 songs are listed in the link I put at the bottom of the description.
The cut QOTSA song is Run Pig Run which was cut from WoR, replaced with Scumbag Blues. I don't think it was ever charted because i think there were licensing issues
