In Kills, they literally showed Myers and the other Inmate on the news. Soooo, how they couldn’t tell the difference is beyond me.
They showed two photos of Michael and another patient, neither of which were named. So as far as they knew, one of them was Michael but they didn't know which one.

The intro to Halloween 4 still holds up as extremely unique in its simplicity.
I love Halloween 4's visuals: a worn down shed with crude decorations tacked on, a massive exposed barn that offers no shelter, sharp axes and tools against a chillingly cold whistle of wind as the sun sets. It made Haddonfiled truly feel like an isolated farmland suburb instead of generic America.
Absolutely. The intro of Halloween part 4 is one of the best in the franchise. A true creepy and eerie feel to it. It really has that halloween and M.M. feel to it.

@@JohnnyCage333 even though i hate Halloween 4 i do love the intro. Not as good as the Jack O Lantern opening in the Original 1978 film but still it's one of the only redeeming things in H4 in my opinion

I remember watching Halloween 3 for the first time as a 13 y/o kid and being SO frustrated waiting for Michael Myers to show up. I ended up hating that movie and refused to watch it again until 2021 during the pandemic. Now it’s my #2 most favorite H movies. Expectation and perspective is everything. 🍿🍿🍿
It's a great Halloween movie. Not a Myers Halloween, but I watch it every year. Plus Tom Atkins is the shit in it. Leaves his job and kids to bone a hot chick and solve a mystery featuring Stonehenge, Robots and a cool warlock.

What I love about both rob zombie movies is it feels like it could actually happen as far as the first movie.

Im not a fan of RZ's H2 but Danielle Harris's character death is pretty emotional and the music and flashbacks of her as a young girl is well done. Funny how H1 has a very unwatchable 1st 20 minutes but H2 has one of the best 1st 20 minutes in the entire series.

As someone who actually really enjoys Rob Zombie's movies and digs his Halloween mini-franchise I yelled "YES!" when you put Halloween 2 as high as you did!
I don’t understand Halloween fans. You hate 2007 Halloween but love the 1978? Lol 1978 Halloween has bad acting , kills are outdated and camera quality is not good. Halloween 2007 yea it has its weakness but so does every other Halloween movie. Michael was his best in that movie very brutal and acting was top tier in that movie vs 1978 acting not so good. Just don’t understand how someone don’t like 2007 but love the 1978 like it was the best when in reality it has not aged good at all.

The dialogue and ideas are executed bad for sure, but is genuinely forgivable for how great Myers is in it

I'm glad Halloween 4 gets more appreciation from people. It's what got me into the franchise and the first horror movie I watched that I wasn't scared of as a kid
Halloween 4 is my personal favorite, do to my age this was my introduction to Michael Myers 1990 14 year old I watched this for nearly 4 months straight. If i would've seen 1 before I saw this my feelings probably would be different.

I enjoyed kills in the theater because at the scene where Lori is in the hospital bed and it's quite someone in the audience farted and all of us laughed for like five minutes and took out whatever tension was supposed to be in the scene lol
For those interested, B&B Theaters, at least here in Kansas City, has been showing horror on their Tuesday retro movie night all this month. Tonight is, Trick r Treat. But next Tuesday is the original HALLOWEEN. I've never seen it on the big screen. Showings are 4 and 7pm. If you live near a B&B theater maybe check it. Happy Halloween everyone!
The plot of Halloween Ends should have been in Kills. Or at least parts of it. Have Michael survive H18, have him disappear and then bring in the Corey storyline and get it to play out as it did in Ends but replace Michael's death with either Allyson or Karen. Then, in the final movie, get the whole town to form two mobs; one led by Karen/Allyson and the other by Laurie. Wipe out the former, wipe out most of Laurie's and then have the final confrontation.

Me too. And I agree with you on the fact, that he should have split Halloween 6 for the ranking, since both cuts may look similar but are actually very different.
The worst crime of the theatrical cut was them replacing 90% of the Halloween music for rock music. It just didn't fit a Halloween film. Also the PC doesn't focus on gore so hard and instead focuses more on the plot than the theatrical version. Even thoigh the fight at the end of the theatrical cut and the killing of the cult members is badass, I prefer the PC and it's (open) ending.
I would set Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (PC) much higher than the theatrical cut of Curse.

I love it when a tier list has the names of the ranking levels have to do with what's being ranked, like these are all lines from the Halloween movies.
These tier lists are always fun to watch. This is a very hit and miss franchise when you get the right people but it's one of my favorite franchises. Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, I'm on that island with you but I will acknowledge it's problems.

I loved your first watch reaction to Halloween Ends. It was hilarious, but also ambiguous, but yet very enticing to go see it. And then you placed it in the middle on the tier list. When it comes to horror movies, I'm generally in agreement with you (except for RZH2 haha!) so I'm morbidly curious and excited to see Halloween Ends.
When I was a kid my Grandfather showed me Season of the Witch. I didn't know it was the third installment of the Halloween Series at the time being a young young buck but I loved it!
It wasn't until I got a bit older I realized it when some cable channel played a marathon of Halloween. I remember thinking" I can't wait to see Halloween 3 cause I have never seen it before".
A gotcha moment occurred when the movie opened and i felt like a dummy.
Lucky me though, I was able to watch the film again and I enjoyed it even more.
Every Halloween I start the night with Season of the Witch before Halloween 1 and 2

If you watch Kills through the lens of “it’s a dark comedy”it works 😂😂😂. I prefer Ends to 2018 actually. Thanks for the tier list!
That's what it is. It's full on 80s cheese. Personally i love cringe horror from that time, and there are enough Myers movies that it in a weird way pays homage to some of the ridiculous ones. It's a very good bad movie if that makes sense.
It is a dark-comedy as much as it is horror/thriller and crime

Agree with your thoughts on ends alot. Halloween ends should have been focused on the story of michael and laurie leading up to the end of there story.. The movie we got should have been the movie after Halloween ends. Replace the third act with Corey taking up the mantle or Michael possessing Cory some how. Since the first 2 acts are seemingly building toward one of those outcomes. Then he can carry on and either terrorize the grand daughter or move on to someone else

I actually like what Zombie did with Halloween. I like the back story and family tragedy aspect. It could have just been another slasher film but at least he tried something new for Myers.

Honestly, Halloween Ends should have been a spin-off that was set between Kills and the final movie in the trilogy. That way you properly set up Cody and he and Michael can team up in the last movie. Cody would die in the middle of the last movie and then you have a strong ending with Michael and Laurie. I loved the direction they went in, but they didn’t commit to it and gave a stale ending. It’s a mixed bag that I love and hate.

Lmaooo the directors understood what we wanted from the movie 🤣 I hate the storyline and how they tried to bring the old characters back but Michael's killing spree in that movie was very enjoyable 🤣

I really like this tier list! The only personal opinion of mine that I would change is I would put Ends at the bottom. It had an interesting concept, but never fully explored it. If the kills were interesting then I would put it higher, but I felt everything in Ends was so forced.

As much as I try and get into the rest of the movies in this franchise, the only ones worth rewatching to me are the OG and Season of the Witch. The anthology idea would have been so much better I bet, this should never have been turned into a franchise.

It was the PERFECT idea for a franchise. The fact that they've wasted the concept is not through any weakness in the concept, itself. They should have told Zombie to go away, and they should have told Jamie Lee to go to hell. Then they should have kept making basic, traditional Halloween movies, with Myers stalking...whoever...it really makes no difference...The concept does all the heavy lifting. It's perennial, it's timeless, it's simple, yet supremely flexible....they deserve all the blame for having largely wasted it over the decades...
The aftermath of Halloween Ends feels unreal. I feel like it kinda dampened October for me.

Great Jamie Lee Curtis performance, interesting way to take her character, competent script and lots of fun to be had. Rob Zombies Halloween 2 is pretty boring and takes the loved character of Loomis and craps all over him and what made him so likeabke. It also features people talking about raping dead bodies that Michael has killed…if you prefer that to Halloween 2018 then okay😂

The mob-mentality idea actually works well in Halloween 4 with the rednecks. Loomis is forced to recruit them to hunt down Michael after he kills the entire police force and the sheriff has no choice but to let it happen, even though, it results in them drunkenly killing someone that they thought was Michael later on.
The mob in Kills just felt like forced political commentary and took away from potential development we could've had with other characters like Allyson, or even more scenes set during the '78 night. Hell, I'd rather have a film set right after H1 in the new timeline (RIP Halloween II) where everyone is hunting down Michael and Haddonfield is freaking the fuck out over what happened. Make there be more of a connection between Laurie and the officer she chatted with in H2018 about Michael's return and what not.
The emphasis they placed on rednecks in Halloween 4 was a serious mistake. Same with the state police towards the end. Slasher movies thrive on a sense of intimacy and isolation. That is ruined when you flood the landscape with lots of miscellaneous characters.

6 was my first in the theater. So I have fondness for it. I was only 15 when it came out. The TV version of 1 cut into the R rated theatrical version is my preferred version of 1. Part 3 is awesome!

hell yeah i always loved halloween III and have spent decades defending it as it was one of fav movies as a kid and i was a myers fan too and now with the internet we find so many others who love it too, its a fantastic film.

I feel like there are so few of us who are not big fans of the “new” timeline of Halloween. I am not huge on much of the franchise but it is really suprising to me that many state the new timeline and movies have been some of the best

Rob Zombies Remake would have been better just having 2 acts, have the first half set in the asylum, have more time understanding the loomis and myers relationship. Then have the second half when Michael escapes znd goes back home. Nobody wanted to see myers as a boy brought up in an atmosphere that was gonna push him only 1 way. We didn't need a reason why he's a maniac.
I’ve never heard or saw someone say or write Rob Zombies H1 is one of the best in the franchise. However, I’ve never looked for it either. I’m sure plenty of people have said it. Some probably said it for attention/clicks and some becuase they truly believe it. Lovf your honesty and content, Cody!

Halloween II is underappreciated. IMO it's the scariest. I like the introduction of the sibling storyline. It makes Meyer's make some sense! 5 is bad, but Resurrection is easily the worst and I dont even think its a contest. Also, glad you prop up 6. Among all the other things you mention that make it good, the script was just way to muddled. But I like that they tried to explain why Michael was the way he was using the original story line.
I think 5 is worse than resurrection, 5 just had a terrible mask, it was boring, Loomis was an asshole, tina was ridiculous, michael cried, only positive was danielle Harris
