PETE ! So glad you are back.. I've watched other plumbers on RUclips while you have been away, but you and Markus set the standard so high. Such great content and your pipe bending series and enthusiasm helped me to complete my NVQ level 2 at college in 2022 - 2023. But your channel, Tomkat, PlumberParts, Alan Heart, MJ Tiff, and London Trade College all helped me achieve a life long goal before I turned 50 years of age. I went back to college and achieved 100% in three of the exams. Lowest mark in all exams was 80%. Distinctions in all of them. This after having heart problems in 2021 and a stroke in early 2022. Thankfully I recovered quickly thanks to the brilliant NHS hospital care I received. Back in 2019 I replaced our old lead water main with 25mm MDPE. Removed rads to decorate ect. But was nice going to college as an adult learner. But seriously so happy to see you are back and hopefully you will enjoy putting out regular content. 👍👍
One of my favourite channels on RUclips. Great to see you back Pete. My bank balance may suffer though as I end up buying new tools when I watch your videos.
Good to see you back PB. I am an experienced plumber and I think your content is always worth watching. You show it how it is, and you are honest with it. As long as you are happy doing the videos, they’ll be plenty of people happy to watch. Glad you’re well, keep up the good work 👍💪
You're videos are really helpful and insightful. Thank you taking the time to film and edit them. I'm a heating engineer of 13 years and I'm grateful for the things I learn in your videos and also knowing that I'm doing a lot of things in the same way as you are! 👍
Welcome back , I wouldn’t attend on a weekend regardless or after hours , dont think of it as only 10mins your charging for a positive outcome and years of experience to achieve a timely positive outcome. So charge accordingly.
Great to have to you back Pete. I obviously understand why you guys have channel sponsors to help cover the time making the videos... But it is so nice and refreshing to just watch a video without products being pushed at you! Really enjoyed that one 👌
Yeah it’s a tricky one. If someone came to you and said I’ll give you £500 every time you mention my product in a video, you’d be silly not to, because at the end of the day we all do the job to pay the bills. But people won’t watch your videos if they are full of adverts so you have to pick and choose when you do it
Hello PB, really happy to see you back, can you please make video of unvented cylinder installation in full and explain about it please, I really love your videos, it really helps, please keep uploading.
I would always watch your adventures regularly and always miss you when you're away. You're knowledgeable, kind, witty, and easy to listen to and watch. Keep up the good work. Thumbs up from the USA.
Pete, of all the plumbers I follow yr by far the most informative of them all and the most varied. Keep em going don’t wear yourself down do them perhaps one a month. Thanks for the content.
Thanks for the upload. It’s good to have you back. I lost my job last year and still haven’t got back into plumbing yet. Watching this has helped a lot so hope to find work again soon.
Nice to see some of the OG's returning to youtube like PB and ollie (heating geek) thanks for sharing pete hope to see some more of you cos we love watching you! ❤
Hey, PB, welcome back, echoing the thoughts of many others here on your channel. I did wonder what happened to you, seeing as I wasn't seeing your 'exploits' updated, so it's nice to hear from you, and why. Real life plumbing in a real life. I'm a plumbing student, refreshing my NVQ 2, but I would have priced that outside pipe job differently. First, though, the parking bit you mentioned. I can see both sides: you want to be as near as possible, not down the road and around the corner, up the hill and along the chimney, when you want just a small part or tool. Also, the person who spoke to you may well have gotten fed up of people parking there and not being around to move when the garage is due to be used. You did the only and right thing in mentioning what you was doing, so just come round and you can move the van, you won't be more than 30mins. Just a little diplomacy goes some way. That job. I was thinking of what was involved - late night call, working all week, Sat night, the travelling, fuel, parts and labour, your time - and I thought the commitment involved, anything more than £150 would be too much. I would have considered a push-fit for a push-fit, or even a compression coupling, seeing as it's a quick like-for-like with little labour, and it was covered by the pipe lagging. Of course, at that time the merchants are not open, it depends on what you have handy in your van. As for your van, I feel you on that one. Your van is your fifth limb (seventh, after my wallet and mobile!!), you don't go to jobs without it, it's tailor-made, packed and ready, and gets you about well. It's like constantly working with a dependable mate, be they qualified or not. If you don't have it, the alternative is cumbersome, but you persevere. Old Nellie will return soon. Like yourself......😊😊😊 Look forward to hearing the bathroom suite of 2 weeks.
Love your videos Pete, been looking out for you whenever I'm on RUclips, so interesting so see how different the plumbing and gas is there compared to us in New Zealand
Hi Pete, great to see you back again, that first job has the wrong insulation on the copper pipework, should be Armaflex insulation because of external position. The costing of work can get you a bad name if your too excessive, I know plumbers who would charge £150 plus for that job, you won’t get repeat work if you take the customers head off, to be fair you wouldn’t want a tradesperson to do it to you if you couldn’t do a job yourself, a call out from a company would be £60 - £90 and that might be just to isolate the problem then a further charge if the repair can be carried out in a set time, that was how the last company I worked for charged. Thanks for sharing.
Great content. I'm not even in a trade but can't seem to stop watching plumbing content. First watch of your and going to go back through your others. Great work
Glad to see you bac! Also good to see your documenting that it isn’t always straight forward and can be a real stress just trying to do the job without filming and making it look glamorous. Keep it up Pete 👍🏻
Glad to see you back Pete. Really enjoyed this latest video. You have good days and bad days. £100 - £120 seems about right to me for a Saturday night call out.
Jack of all, master of none, me. Always enjoy seeing people get to a problem, know how to diagnose, then correct it. Me, I chase my tail for hours, wouldn't know if I'd stumbled across the solution or not, generally stressed/worried. I'm assuming those fittings, clamping machines come at a cost. So guessing that if I had your set up, van etc....... I would've charged £180 for that Saturday night call out. Nice video, I enjoyed it. Hope you keep going with it👍
Very interesting video, glad you're back👍 I've worked in property maintenance the last 5 years and many other jobs. IMHO £150 would be top whack for that burst repair even for someone who'd travelled say 45mins to the job. Charging £300 for something so simple is the reason some customers distrust tradespeople. PB I understand why you used press as you use it all the time and don't want callbacks. Another approach (in a case where you were on site a couple of days doing other work) might have been to see if the JG speedfit would simply have re-assembled. Just saying 😅
Great to see you again! Take a photo of the junction box before changing anything! There’s always *one sneaky wire* which comes out when you’re not expecting it and you’re left wondering where it goes!
Good to see you back. You’re one of the reasons I’m the oldest apprentice alive. Cheers for being you.
I appreciate that mate, thank you 🙏🏽

Glad to see you back! One of the best on RUclips .
Look forward to more content Always very knowledgeable and real.
PB when we had press fit training the instructor advised to rotate the tool 90’ from the first press and it’s actually in Propress fitting manual.
Very interesting video, glad you're back👍 I've worked in property maintenance the last 5 years and many other jobs.
