At first, Smiley was scary to me. I had never seen the movie, but I have seen a picture of Smiley's face. That, alone, scared me. But now that I know the uh.. "story" with it, it's a lot less spooky.
I mean, the monster's design is still cool, even tho someone sewing their eyes shut and carving a smile on their face will never ever look like this

A way better ending and how the plot could’ve been handled: they could’ve established: they should’ve said that smiley was first an urban legend of like 200 years ago or maybe when witch trials was a thing, about a person who was a jester and kept doing dumb things for attention, later been executed by first fucking up his face with those stitches, and Shane Dawson wanted to use that urban legend and make some use out of it, saying it’s been reborn, and all those people who wanted to fool Her because they all went to the same primary school, and she always got higher marks then them, and they got so jealous, even if she never knew them personally, thus telling us how she doesn’t know them. This then tells us their motive, and a way to tell us why the real smiley exists, we could say that the teacher was instead a history teacher and gives us dialogue that says something about reimagining a legend, saying that if people practice the legend’s tales, the legend woul inevitably be reborn and first kill of the practicioners or something like that, which would then tell us why he exists, idc if this is some dumb shit or whatever but all in all Shane Dawson this movie really does sound shit and I’m only making this comment because the monster’s background is at least interesting and I’m bored
