Jill came to sing and meet n greet at my early prince party four years ago. She’s a wonderful person and the VOICE behind most progress and Demo tracks. This lp is amazing !!!!!

They are not related in any way. Once Teena got signed to Motown, she met and lived with Jill's family. Her mom, Winnie Martin was married to Berry Gordy's brother, Fuller Gordy. So they kind of grew up together, but they are not cousins.

This is a classic . Unfortunately it went under the radar for some people though. Jill did her thing.

If you watch the 1999 and I think extended Automatic videos, that’s Jill Jones with the blonde hair and cap. She’s the waitress in the Purple Rain movie too. She sang backing vocals on so many tracks, and the Prince song She’s Always in My Hair is about her. Have you done any reaction vids to some of his b-sides like Hello, Shockadelica and 17 Days?

I bought this when it first came out. I have had to buy it several times throughout the years because of wearing it out😂 Jill Jones was very underrated I never received the accolades she should have. This has been my go to album for years. If you ever get a chance to see under the Cherry Moon you'll hear a snippet of Prince's version of Mia Boca. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
Hello. I came across your channel by chance. I was and am a huge of any music Prince was attached to. This CD did not get the airplay it deserved. I still have the original CD and yes the Intro is connected to Mia Bocca. I use to workout to this a lot...especially if I had a bad day. A good way to get out the frustrations and calm down. On the CD, she is singing Baby You're A Trip.
Her b sides hotter than the album tracks.
From Vanity /Apollonia 6, the only one that had a pretty good voice was Brenda. She wasn’t really featured though. If she had been they would have been better. Not sure if true or not but I did hear that Jill was behind a curtain singing for Susan on at least one occasion.

There is a version of All Day All Night with Prince in the lead vocals floating around YT. PRINCE's version is more high energy.
I was kinda sad it wasn't on the Purple Rain Deluxe edition.

I can send you the full album and nuch more Prince and Prince related albums and songs. By the way you do have the intro as part of the first song. Mia Boca is French for my mouth.
That was actually a pretty decent album. To keep it a stack I've never bump, most of his proteges music heavy like that outside of janelle monae. Jill has a decent singing voice, but for me the production was the main thing that sold me the most about this album.

The grainy 1980s video clip of Jill singing “Baby, You’re A Trip” is a lip syncing to the entire studio version as found on the album.
And yes, what U hear at the beginning of “Mia Bocca” is the album’s intro track.
“All day, All Night” was, is, and always will be a banger & is my longtime favorite on this album. In latter years I have found “My Man “to have really grown on me with that infectious and upbeat NRG. 🎶🎵 always like “For Love” for the funk as we get deeper into the song! I had 4gitten how much I like “Violet Blue”-def my fav ballad on this album.
All around great album. Jill was probably the strongest vocalist (aside from Brenda Bennet) of the 1980s protégés.
