Yoi are way past terrific. I am 77 yrs old. My ancestors were Acadian French Canadian. We lost our mother language in the 1950's.

Except for fleur, which I can't fit into my theory, I'd say words ending in -eur are masculin , if they are employment titles (moteur fits too, because its the job of a motor to move something) and feminin, if they are states (humeur, couleur, valeur).

Bonjour! Je trouve cela intéressant comment certains mots sont masculins en France mais féminins au Québec! Par exemple, au Québec, on dit LA job, LA Covid-19 et dernièrement, l'Office québécois de la langue française a accepté trampoline au féminin!
Évidemment, 99,9% des mots ont le même genre les deux côtés de l'Atlandique.
