gameranx Thanks for the tips! This game looks awesome! Just started my play through (No not advertising I suck lol ) I've been excited for this and I'm a fan of the channel so I was waiting on a video like this for you guys!
" you can't fast travel to places unless you've already actually been there" I'm struggling to think of any game that let's you fast travel to undiscovered places.
M G well, that’s because the man who drives the wagon is taking you. if you dont get on a wagon, you have to go there yourself. i’d say skyrim doesn’t count. it’s like a taxi.
My counter tips: 1. The game DOES tell you about the Cauldrons. There's a lady in the Nora village that tells you about them. She says that she learned her lesson because of the scars on her face. 2. Don't say that Fast Travel isn't unlimited, then proceed to say it is if you get the right stuff. Straight up, until you have the items you need to purchase the Golden Fast Travel Pack, you shouldn't do much Fast Travel anyways, tbh. There's a lot to explore, and therefore, a lot to collect. 3. You CAN remove mods. It's a skill called Tinker. It's under the Forager skill tree. When you get better mods, take the ones you Tinkered off, and sell them. Shards are easy to burn through, after all. 4. The maps you can purchase from different vendors are for those areas nearer to the merchant. (So check every merchant for a map set.) They also do not give the exact location of the collectibles. The give you a radius of where it will be. Best thing you can do is go to the area, then R3 to scan around til you find it. Vantage Points and Banuk Figures can be difficult to find. 5. Not everyone is stealth-oriented. If you're not, do a little research on a set of armor you can get in some ruins by collecting power cells. This armor takes some decent fall and melee damage. 6. I agree that you need to gather consumables as much as possible, especially in the beginning. But after awhile, learn what you burn through the most, and gear yourself to pick up more of those things. I don't use antidote much, so I don't need to keep 200+ Corruption Glaze Root. Yeah, I could sell it, but I'd like the keep those spaces open for things I do need, like Wire and Ridgewood. (However, you should always make sure your medicine pouch is full, and you have a decent amount of meats to create health potions.) 7. As far as things to sell or trade to merchants go, sell as much as you can (unless you can craft with it). If there is something specific you want, create a job to go get the Glinthawk Heart, etc. you need. Don't hoard that kind of stuff because it piles up quickly. 8. Going back to the Skills, really take a good look at them, and prioritize what you will need for your gameplay style. I am not particularly stealthy player, so I tend not to choose those skills first. One thing you should probably get early on is the Concentration. Slowing things down makes them easier to hit in most cases. 9. Don't underestimate the power of any of the weapons in any situation. You may not think you'll ever use a sling or a rope caster, but tying those suckers down and using harvester arrows to get what you need, helps out tremendously.
your telling me you don't need ridge wood or wire I use wire very fast I had 500 in one hour of playing I only have 10 left I use wire crazy and do u have tips for farming wire if u do I need it and ridge wood is needed unless u just play with spear whole game but I wouldn't its very hard at some points of the game verry
I know it's late but I feel the need to reply to some of these... 1) Sure, an NPC mentions them but that can be easily missed. Nothing else in the game really encourages you to seek them out 4) I only ever bought one set of collectible maps and it revealed everything across the entire map. 5) That armor is unattainable until near the end of the story. It's really good but it's not something you'll be able to rely on for much of the game 7) I tend to hoard more stuff... you have to find a balance, and keep trying to upgrade your resource pouch heh 9) Ropecaster is good for taking some enemies out of the fight. You have to hit them with enough ropes to turn the blue circle full and into a dark one with a white outline. Then, as long as you don't do any significant damage, it will be out of the fight for like 90 seconds, giving you some space to fight other things. Plus, you can override it if you've unlocked that.
Golden Fast Travel pack is very expensive at 2000 shards + trinkets on hardest difficulty compared to 50 S at lower diff! I was blown away by the difference. I had to grind a bit to get it but the money is made back very quickly with the frequent fast travels in this very respectable game.
Dude did you not see the skill Tinker? remember tinker in the skills menu, it allows you to remove modifications and re use them on other types of armor.
Yeah he should have stated to it. Granted that takes a wile to get. As he should have pointed out that some side quests or the lack of being a quest can auto give her a skill point when done. Tall Necks. Most, but not all of the whole game map gets revealed by them.
It was pretty far in the skill tree. I personally didn't find it useful. A better late game upgrade I definitively abused was to call a ride wherever, whenever. If there was tip that I could've used to help me in my initial game, it would've been definitively to be consistent with the _ropecaster._ I only discovered its practicality on my game+. SMH at myself but then, it's part of the fun to learn stuff on your own without any spoiling tips, even if they can improve the game play.
Yeah especially cuz *RIGHT* after he said that, he transitiona to "ok now we're gonna talk about the skill trees!!" And i was like " *WHAT ABOUT THE FUCKIN TINKER SKILL*
Haven't played it much, a couple of hours, but it is so good so far and the most gorgeous game I've ever played. Can't really get into a game too much during weekdays, have to get up for work. Too many times lose track of time. Been in a state of gaming boredom. This game looks like it might get me out of it.
A few other tips. *1)* If you can't find your first Cauldron just see *Dral* in _Mother's Crown_. *2)* 6:11 - When scanning if you see a red Cauldron symbol, you *cannot* override that machine; if it's blue, you *can* override it (intricate detail note: each machine is stamped with the cauldron symbol of the cauldron you need to complete in order to override that machine) *3)* The potions, resistance potions, and traps bar sucks (too much to scroll through to find a specific potion). You can use the weapon wheel (L1) and choose a potion with time slowed down. *4)* Datapoints will show up as cube icons on your navigation bar when you're close to one (it won't make finding them all easy, but it will help you spot them a little easier and save you from having to constantly scan every 10 steps). *5)* *Handling* = draw speed. *Tear* = aids in parts removal. *Ice* = increased damage. *Fire* = Makes machines go a little crazy for a short time. *Shock* = does what you think shocking would do to machines. *Corruption* = turns machines against each other (it's poison to Aloy) There are many more but those are the ones I wish I knew when starting out. EDIT: Go into _Settings_ and turn the HUD to *Dynamic*. Your welcome.
I just got a ps4 pro yesterday and have to say this game is stellar.. such good graphics, voice acting, and a unique intriguing story.. defiantly a must have for any ps4 owner
I'm so addicted to this game!! Currently running around everywhere finishing off all my forgotten side quests and errands before I return to the main quest. I love the freedom of the open world format so much!
Integral Titan well he probably learned the hard way, I tend to agree you going to need at least 20 or 30 Fox skins before they don't matter anymore. okay I don't remember the exact number but you'll know it once everything's upgraded.
I love this game soo much!! Awesome graphics, awesome story, awesome introduction, awesome gameplay!, awesome cutscenes!!! I feel sooo bad for Aloy, everyone hates her!!! Almost shed a tear!! ❤❤😢😢
Jen Jayakody (Minor Spoiler, not about story really) The character I seriously want beat the fuck up is Resh. That jackass just insulting Aloy, I just want to MURDER!
dude same! they do a great job with her facial expressions when shes a lil girl in the beginning. i like wanted to fight everyone who was mean to her lmao
at the very beginning of the game, after the trials you wake in a temple. make sure you find the power cell hidden in the temple because once you leave, you seemingly are locked out of that area for the majority of the game. I'm still currently playing, with about 76 % completed and still locked out of mothers heart. these power cells unlock a very powerful armor that is found in a bunker close to the start of the game. there are 5 power cells, and they are not easy to find.
Just got it over the holidays. I would add some other tips i found out: - It pays to pick up quests early, they are often on the way to the main quest. - Wait until you have about 7 or 8 points polled before upgrading the first time, think on the long run. Pay attention to the links in the skill tree, its not linear as it suggests. - the first time you approach a new merchant, there is always a free sample treasure box, take it.
If i may add some tips too it. 1 read all the dialogues, there are some awesome background info in it that you need to understand the story. 2 collect data points, it seems dull, but at the same reason, a lot has happened before the world came to its end. 3 keep your medicine full, it your best friend in heavy fights when you have lots of health in stock. 4 keep in mind that traps and wiretraps will stay even before a cutscene, for example when you fight the demon that attacks from the door, you can trap the door before the cutscene as everything is still normal and you have all the time in the world too make your plans. Try put 36 traps and 20 wires before the door, that demon will not know what killed him, so funny... 5 override the machines at the cauldrons, all those bosses have running small machines before you release the shield from the bosses. Its way easier when those small machines fight at ur side fighting those bosses. 6 don't ever skip any location in a room, path or field. There are so many of these areas to be founded with valuable loot, like those energy cells. 7 don't put to much valuables on one statistic, they have a cap and once reached you don't get the value from it. so combine stealth with melee/range defense etc. 8 go directly too the frozenwilds for the Over powered weapons and outfits, at level 30 you can get there and with new game + its easy to gain extra modifications. Also it enoys silens lol 9 Use stealth in water, for me its an easy way too get out of trouble, jump in the deep water and go stealth, it can save your life. 10 Use the rope weapon too slash those angry birds, they are a pain to kill with arrows. with rope its a whole lot easier.
Another tip: You can make overrides last indefinitely with the skill tree. I was able to do so (after already snagging essentials like stealth kill and lure) pretty early on. Early on meaning right after I got the ability because I had saved up a couple level-ups
It takes a while, but I believe that getting the ancient armor is worth the time. It will help you preserve your health in the tougher battles. And if you have the frozen wild dlcs, it is your best friend there. Even though Aloy complains about being cold. It keeps you safe, for the most part.
Should have added to not open your boxes until you need what's inside. You can carry an infinite amount of boxes but can only carry a limited number of resources so by leaving the boxes closed you can carry more resources and only open the box when you need what's inside.
Who here is starting up HORIZON ZERO DAWN for the first time after watching Horizon 2: Forbidden West - Reveal Trailer? (Embarrassed to admit it but raises hand 😎👍 )
Still waiting on it's release on PC; I got a free copy with my new AMD R5 3600 CPU. So excited to see what it looks like cranked up to max on my LG 27GL850!
Small tip: When a machine is under a specific elemental timed effect (burning, frozen, stunned electrically, under your green corruption), then hitting it with more of that specific effect from one of your weapons is wasted. You cannot lengthen the existing timer or add any more damage or other effect of that specific running type until the timer runs down completely and ends that effect. Don't waste shots in this situation; change to another type of weapon immediately (for example, if a machine has been frozen under timed effect, switch to, say, fire arrows to start ramping up that timer clock until it kicks in -- when it kicks in, it will immediately end the freeze and start the machine timed burning, even if the freeze timer has not yet run out). This does not count hitting the machine in a spot where it has its own internal weak-spot with that specific type of effect, which will always cause their effect plus damage if set off by a hit from one of your weapons -- exploding blaze tanks on/inside some machines, for example, can cause a massive burst of fire damage to that machine on top of any being done by a fire timer already running down from you previous fire-arrow hits. You have to get experience on when to keep firing a specific type of weapon and when to switch weapons for other effects. Also, damage (the thing that kills a machine) is separate from corruption or stun effects. Only freeze and fire do both their effect and damage, too. So stop firing corruption or stun weapons at a target when you want to kill it NOW, rather than waiting for it to fall under the timed corruption or stun so that you can hit it later with weapons when it is not attacking you. Sorting this out also takes experience. Some weapons do more than one kind of effect -- damage plus stun, for example, so using a stun arrow against an already timed stunned machine may do some damage from that, just that its stun effect is now wasted and a pure damage weapon would now be more useful. Just remember that more of an effect in this game does not mean better results in many cases.
It was nice to ... him back in the final boss on my game+. I duelled him on my initial one. He would've been useful as a helper in the final boss. I wish I wasn't minorly spoiled that Nil would ... Aloy to the ... but that's on me for checking tips online before finishing the game. ☻
Another hint you missed. If an enemy has an exterior weapon, shoot it with a tear arrow. You can pick up some powerful guns this way (Thunderjaw launchers are your friend!)
Lure only draws them to your location.....Rocks are sometimes better because you can aim it and have them go off farther to a specific place you want based on your surroundings....both lure and rocks are valuable.
*Lure Call* and *Stealth Takedown* are your first bet to end a fight quickly and without too many wounds. When that fails or is not an option, getting out of *dodge* is very important, and using elemental status, like Electricity from: Tripcaster, Traps, Slingshot, Warbow to disable the Machine for a while, so you can go in and use *Critical Hit* (needs skillpoints) seems like the second best option. After that, maybe a Ropecaster to tie it down, remove armor, parts, etc. Obviously using Fire Arrows on that Blaze canister is tempting, but it can backfire on you when suddenly 10 enemies look at you with aggressive status and your stealth is suddenly gone :D
I love when developers add fast travel to a game as a convenience to the player, but not without a price. Whether it is strategic placement, discovery as a prerequisite, or in this case craftable packs. That is just good game design. In something like Skyrim, you can zip to any place you have been to all willy-nilly at no cost to you, feels a little like cheating. Even ESO had way shrines in specific locations. Plus it shows good game design when they can incorporate it organically into the gameplay and lore.
2 years later and I’m still playing this game. Ever since I was a little kid I’ve loved robot and I’ve loved dinosaurs, so this game was right up my alley
This is messed up. I pre-ordered it at late-November last year. I was so happy and EXTREMELY hyped when I got it. Then a week before it comes out, my mom pawns my PS4 because I got a D+ in my progress report.
Gaming Bros RUclips's servers are actual potatoes. I put out a video on the game and made 204 views in 3 hours. 3 days have passed and I've only got 208 now. I've tested it out by viewing it and seeing if the count changed, but no. it's fucking stupid
One thing I didn't find immediately obvious was that not ALL bows can fire ALL ammo types. I now have 3 bows - all of which do different types of damage (tear/precision/fire/shock etc), but before that I bought some shock arrows and then wondered why I couldn't use them. But other than that one thing (which is more me being a dumbass than the game itself) I am really enjoying this game. I had expected it to just be a mild distraction while I waited on Mass Effect, but its turned out to be fun, addictive and just all round awesome! Doesn't seem to suffer any of the usual open world issues and Aloy is a great character. She seems more agile that any character i've played in the Assassin's Creed series. And the first cauldron i did was goddamn gorgeous. Regardless of what genre you usually go for, i'd highly recommend giving this game a go!
I would add no 11, for when you're half way through. Get the Tinker perk. This lets you swap in and out modifications to your weapons and armor, rather than placing them and losing them if you want to put in a new one. With Tinker you can swap mods in and out, depending on the weakness of the enemy.
Thought this game looked cool when it was announced/ released. Bought the complete edition almost 2 years ago and finally just started playing it this morning. It's great so far.
I know this is a thing that there is demand for, but frankly creating a video like this kinda flies in the face of one of the best aspects in the game: the exploration. The fact that the game refuses to hold your hand after a short tutorial and simply lets you discover is one of the best parts of an insanely good game. Learning each of the things mentioned in this video on your own is essentially guaranteed, and also some of the coolest moments of discovery, as you quickly learn how surprisingly deep the game is. I don't know that anyone should watch this video, especially a player new to the game.
The create job system is such a great addition to a game that as such a large crafting system. I enjoy crafting the best gear I have access too early in the game, so this little feature is a really smart idea from the developers.
Been wanting this game for ages but didnt want to pay full price and saw the complete edition for 19.99 on the store tonight and caved in and bought it for that awesome price with everything included. Hoping I like it.
Here's one more tip when you're battling the deathbringer at markers end where it can't move hide behind the wall, you can destroy it by jumping back and forth behind the wall, especially if you're playing on Ultra hard. Don't forget to kill the watcher and the Eclipse soldiers first for taking on the deathbringer.
I've had this game for years and never played it until now. Started the forbidden west on ps5 and decided to stop and play the older one on ps4 first. These games are dope af
5:20 Every sprouting tree Every child of peace Every cloud and sea You see with your eyes I see destruction and demise Corruption in disguise.. Sorry. I had too.
Brought a ps4 pro when God of war came out...saw horizon (with expansion pack) for cheap so I grabbed it.... Clocked g.o.w and having been LIVING on this game. I love it
Decent tips. The best FIRST skills as a total beginner are Silent Strike and Lure Call. Not Critical Hit. Also it's best to not open treasure boxes you pick up until you are out or very low on resources because you can hold A TON of items in just treasure boxes that would otherwise just take up space in your inventory. Of course, if you're doing a new game having completed all main quests, different skills will have more of a priority because of better game strategies to employ. Plus rocks are underrated. They're useful to distract machines as if a Lure Call from another location (except all nearby machines will hear it, unlike one from a Lure Call). Additionally, it's helpful for newbies to know that you are completely impervious to damage whilst dodging; so time it well in close combat. Also optimal to dodge TOWARD a charging machine so as to utilize the window of protection from your dodge to pass by said machine in less time.
Something that may be useful for some Horizon Zero Dawn players is to not be afraid to spam the elemental arrows like ice or fire, those can be really useful in a fight.
I love the mixture between far cry and assassins creed while they still made it their own game ubisoft is definitely better at team based games and single player games like this
I own a high end gaming PC, Xbox one S and PS4 Pro. I have played all sorts of games, games in 6k 120fps sometimes higher, beautifully designed games, massive games. But I have to say in regards to visuals horizon zero dawn is the best looking game I have ever played.
Remember to collect the power cells if you want the best armor as you progress through the game. I remember I had to go back multiple locations to get those things when I could've taken a couple of steps to the right to grab 1.
In the third skill tree there is a skill that allows you to remove mods you put on weapons. So you can use mods earlier without worrying. If you use your rocks effectively you don't need the taunt skill. The wildlife specifically is useful towards increasing your capacities. For weak points don't forget using the Tear Arrow as it's an easy and effective way of removing the enemy's strongest weapons with a single shot.
Helpful tip? How about "Bigger isn't always better."? Larger robot animals generally take a proportionally larger amount of shots to bring down, even while exploiting weaknesses in elemental types and blowing parts off of them. So, while you can reap a Watcher, Strider, Grazer, etc w/ a stealth hit and be rolling in Shards, bits and bobs, killing say a Bellowback can eat up more crafting items than what you gather from the corpse. To that point, unless you need specific items from a larger enemy or again need them for quest purposes, you can relax and let the animals live... for now.
make sure you collect all power cells while in story mode!! will unlock an amazing suit that is by far better than anything you can buy. you can only get it by collecting 5 power cells . can easily be found during a quest
2 advices I wanna give 1)whenever you scan a new machine, go to options and learn all about their parts. if you know their weaknesses, it'll be easier to kill them. 2)if you're trying to escape from a machine, for example a sawtooth, shoot them in the leg. they're gonna collapse for a few seconds, giving you the time to run away. although, this might me a little difficult for those who're new and inexperienced
For all that are actually interested in the game and tips. You can remove and reapply mods with the tinker perk via the skills menu in the touch pad menu. Hope it helps.
To everyone, you are special Always know you are cutiful and special! Reach for your goals! be positive and do what makes you happy! You are beautiful just the way you look! I am glad you exist! Stay positive and loving!
Note on Number 1 Start Tip: Locations given by the maps are not always 100% accurate. In some case they are found quite a bit further than the immediate area suggested by the grey/white circle area listed on the map
Thanks that helped a lot. Another thing that I had to discover or maybe I missed it in the tutorial is using Z and X to scroll quick items and then using G to use. I went the entire first day after the tutorial not knowing how to throw a rock. For PC users it's the G button.
When you finish a slaughter in this, ALWAYS keep the items, especially the machine hearts, those are used primarily for buying late game/NG+ armour, NG+ armour is "adept" rank, the best of the best
For those who like to kill machines, bandits and cultists but don't want to kill animals: you don't have to. I play "vegan", killing not a single animal and still get every job done and am never short of health potions. The trick: - If you want to make sure you get EVERY Quest, Sidequest and errand done: take the job from Rost when he tells you to take care of old Grata. She needs meet so you can't do it now but later. -Then go as straight as you can to Meridian. As you do so: Hunt down every single Scrapper you see and clear every Scrapper Areal you know.: The scrappers randomly drop "processed metal block" (sometimes none but some max 5). In Meridian you find a special merchant who sells two different boxes for those Metal blocks. Pick the "Scavenger DARK Box". Inside you find at least meat but most times also bones and skins. Killing scrappers gives more EP than killing animals and you get meat, bones and skins very qickly. Also if you bring Grata the meat (and another thing she wants you to get for her) you get an interesting dialog which you don't get if you do this job as soon as you get it (which is impossible without killing animals). Just a tip, not just nice for vegans ;) also an interesting handicap for other players. And for the mods: I like to skill the "Tinker" as soon as posible, so you can remove mods from weapons and outfits. To get there you have to "learn" the skill "disarm traps" which saves you a lot of resources.
Best tip- Get call animal for a ride skill and use it as a bodyguard . The blue override machines are op over the red machines . I was fighting a Sawtooth and I summoned a Charger during mid battle and it took over have of the Sawtooth's health on its own and is also a distraction . I rode my ride to meet with that crazy guy who likes killing bandit at their camps. When he challenged me to the duel part ,my Charger ride killed him without me doing anything .
I just bought it and I'm stuck in a cutscene, I can't open the free box teb got me. I grab it, then I try to exit the menu and it says I didn't take it
Tim Dev i figured it out. was a dumb little mishab on my part. I thought the free crate was the armor he wanted me to grab but when i watched a playthrough it wasnt. My bad. Just me being dumb. Great game so far and i havent explored more then 20% of the world
ARandomOtaku Beyond fanboyism and the hardware excuse, it's probably because PlayStation is Sony's dying breath so to speak, so it's logical they'd pay for the more... interesting titles (perceptively)... Meanwhile Xbox is not really Microsoft's biggest asset so they have no reason financially to blow loads of cash outside of in-house developers (343 etc)
CRwithLukan I guess you never read the news? PlayStation is pretty much the only thing keeping Sony from bankruptcy, I play both platforms, don't know why you fanboys instantly assume salt.
Auri Ventris Funny how you talk about being a fanboy but you seemed to only point out sonys flaws but not Microsoft's. I read the news, Sony are being murdered in technology, Microsoft are being murdered in video games. And because of that, bankruptcy isn't even in the horizon for them. Nice try though hypocrite.
A good hint to tell first time players is that there is hundreds of quests and errands to complete in the game, aside from the main quests. So take some time from the main story to complete some of these. They reward you after each side quest or errand you complete, with many things, each rewards experience, but most also reward with reward boxes and treasure chests which contain various different items and resources that are useful to the player throughout the game. Also the main story quests are generally not timed, (barring a few) so completing side quests won’t affect the storyline at all. Doing side quests and errands usually leads you to secret items, while you get towards their goals, that you require to find secret areas in the game, one item being an armor that makes you almost untouchable.
Picked it up two days ago. 13 hrs deep. Thats alot for a self sustaining/ working gamer. Thumbs up (Although the similarities between this and the WWH3 are ridiculously apparent.. Still fun)
Some quick tips.
gameranx damn in early, nive vid gameranx. keep up the great work
gameranx hey
gameranx Thanks for the tips! This game looks awesome! Just started my play through (No not advertising I suck lol ) I've been excited for this and I'm a fan of the channel so I was waiting on a video like this for you guys!
Mem Furman no
gameranx I'm getting this tomorrow as it only comes out tomorrow in England so this is incredibly helpful, thanks :)
" you can't fast travel to places unless you've already actually been there"
I'm struggling to think of any game that let's you fast travel to undiscovered places.
Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost Mode, its like NG+ though so you would of been there before anyway
Skyrim, via the wagons outside the major strongholds.
Reggie King my thoughts exactly. i haven’t played a game where you can fast travel to a place you haven’t discovered.
M G well, that’s because the man who drives the wagon is taking you. if you dont get on a wagon, you have to go there yourself. i’d say skyrim doesn’t count. it’s like a taxi.
Borderlands 2?
My counter tips:
(However, you should always make sure your medicine pouch is full, and you have a decent amount of meats to create health potions.)
Steven Johnson just go to strider herds
I know I'm very late but I still want to thank you for this. Really helps.
I know it's late but I feel the need to reply to some of these...
1) Sure, an NPC mentions them but that can be easily missed. Nothing else in the game really encourages you to seek them out
4) I only ever bought one set of collectible maps and it revealed everything across the entire map.
5) That armor is unattainable until near the end of the story. It's really good but it's not something you'll be able to rely on for much of the game
7) I tend to hoard more stuff... you have to find a balance, and keep trying to upgrade your resource pouch heh
9) Ropecaster is good for taking some enemies out of the fight.

Unknown Burger1 yeah ik right? I worked for that so quick from the beginning. Helps a lot.
That’s why he said “for most of the game” cuz it takes a lot of skill points to get tinker

Haven't played it much, a couple of hours, but it is so good so far and the most gorgeous game I've ever played. Can't really get into a game too much during weekdays, have to get up for work. Too many times lose track of time. Been in a state of gaming boredom. This game looks like it might get me out of it.
i bought it a hour ago and just got a quarter of the way downloaded. and it is 10 pm here and i am hating my life right now
I'm enjoying it so far! About two-ish hours in and it's definitely unlike anything I've ever played
A few other tips.
*1)* If you can't find your first Cauldron just see *Dral* in _Mother's Crown_.
*2)* 6:11 - When scanning if you see a red Cauldron symbol, you *cannot* override that machine; if it's blue, you *can* override it (intricate detail note: each machine is stamped with the cauldron symbol of the cauldron you need to complete in order to override that machine)
*3)* The potions, resistance potions, and traps bar sucks (too much to scroll through to find a specific potion).
*Corruption* = turns machines against each other (it's poison to Aloy)
There are many more but those are the ones I wish I knew when starting out.
EDIT: Go into _Settings_ and turn the HUD to *Dynamic*. Your welcome.
Thank you!!

at the very beginning of the game, after the trials you wake in a temple. make sure you find the power cell hidden in the temple because once you leave, you seemingly are locked out of that area for the majority of the game.
I'm still currently playing, with about 76 % completed and still locked out of mothers heart.
these power cells unlock a very powerful armor that is found in a bunker close to the start of the game.
there are 5 power cells, and they are not easy to find.

Just got it over the holidays. I would add some other tips i found out:
- It pays to pick up quests early, they are often on the way to the main quest.
- Wait until you have about 7 or 8 points polled before upgrading the first time, think on the long run. Pay attention to the links in the skill tree, its not linear as it suggests.
- the first time you approach a new merchant, there is always a free sample treasure box, take it.

*laughs in golden fast travel pack*
Also it enoys silens lol
9 Use stealth in water, for me its an easy way too get out of trouble, jump in the deep water and go stealth, it can save your life.
You can carry an infinite amount of boxes but can only carry a limited number of resources so by leaving the boxes closed you can carry more resources and only open the box when you need what's inside.
even if you open the box and see what’s inside you can still keep it in ur inventory
Thanks. Great tip

1. IGNORE Nil
2. don't FORGET the temple powercell

So to sum up the video, everything that's obviously important in the game is important to do in the game. ok, got it.

Lure only draws them to your location.....Rocks are sometimes better because you can aim it and have them go off farther to a specific place you want based on your surroundings....both lure and rocks are valuable.
I got a crap ton of mystery boxes full of just rocks and traps
I went into this game completely blind didn't know anything about it and tbh it turned out to be one of my best games of all time
*Lure Call* and *Stealth Takedown* are your first bet to end a fight quickly and without too many wounds.
As a PC gamer and finally being able to play HZD I found these tips very useful. So thanks.

Gaming Bros RUclips's servers are actual potatoes. I put out a video on the game and made 204 views in 3 hours. 3 days have passed and I've only got 208 now. I've tested it out by viewing it and seeing if the count changed, but no. it's fucking stupid
Sukhmandeep Sohi shut up
One thing I didn't find immediately obvious was that not ALL bows can fire ALL ammo types.

I see what you did there.

I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a while, very impressed with the quality of this game
Some quick tips:
1. GET SILENT STRIKE IMMEDIATELY
Something that may be useful for some Horizon Zero Dawn players is to not be afraid to spam the elemental arrows like ice or fire, those can be really useful in a fight.

If you play regular mode, get weaver armour. This will basically make you invincible for large amounts of time
Remember to collect the power cells if you want the best armor as you progress through the game. I remember I had to go back multiple locations to get those things when I could've taken a couple of steps to the right to grab 1.
The tinker ability allows you to reuse mods, and I highly recommend getting the elite takedown ability as fast as possible.

GET. FUCKING. TINKER.
YOU. NEED. TINKER.
2 advices I wanna give
1)whenever you scan a new machine, go to options and learn all about their parts. if you know their weaknesses, it'll be easier to kill them.

The foxes are so cute.
For those who like to kill machines, bandits and cultists but don't want to kill animals: you don't have to.
I play "vegan", killing not a single animal and still get every job done and am never short of health potions.
The trick:
- If you want to make sure you get EVERY Quest, Sidequest and errand done: take the job from Rost when he tells you to take care of old Grata.
She needs meet so you can't do it now but later.
-Then go as straight as you can to Meridian. As you do so: Hunt down every single Scrapper you see and clear every Scrapper Areal you know.:
The scrappers randomly drop "processed metal block" (sometimes none but some max 5).
And for the mods:
I like to skill the "Tinker" as soon as posible, so you can remove mods from weapons and outfits.
To get there you have to "learn" the skill "disarm traps" which saves you a lot of resources.
Its sad how I finished the whole game without knowing Fast Travel even existed.
Started this game last year. It has been a really good investment but Holy cheese it gets narly once you start hunting or being hunted by Thunderjaws.
Looks like most of the Development went into Graphics..........Kojima won't let us down with this Engine.

Great game so far and i havent explored more then 20% of the world
Why are all of cool games PS4 exclusive?!
Auri Ventris "dying breath" salty much?
Auri Ventris oh yeah, microsoft never pay to get exclusive stuff on Xboc.
Thumbs up
(Although the similarities between this and the WWH3 are ridiculously apparent.. Still fun)
