    As someone who’s never owned a kayak or other fishing vessel, naturally I needed to learn about how to set up an anchoring system before buying one. I looked at a number of videos from other channels on the subject, however, I found most of the explanations hard to follow - especially since they were using actual dedicated fishing kayaks rather than a Tucktec such as I was interested in buying. But after watching this video, not only does setting up an anchoring system finally make sense to me, but it gave me the motivation to go ahead and placed an order for a Tucktec! You’ve definitely earned my subscribe and I hope to see more content from you soon!

    Currently copying this setup. My tucktek is AMAZING but fishing is a pain without an anchor 😅. Thanks Jason.

      I had the same issue as well, limiting my tucktec fishing to only calm days. The anchor helped to overcome this limitation and allowed me to have more days fishing the lakes

    Great job! How did you mount the yak attack rail? What hardware did you use?

      Just a normal dril. The material is not hard to break through. After that use a washer and nut to secure

    Great video. Is this the anchor that tucktec sells?

      Nope it is custom made. Various parts were purchased on amazon

    How’d you line the edges of the kayak?

    • @jazzfeline5970
      @jazzfeline5970 Год назад

      The lining on the sides are stabilizers. I believe there's a titanium rod underneath. They're sold on Tucktec's website, but they don't come included with the standard kayak.

      @@jazzfeline5970I have the stabilizers . I’m talking the thin black on the edges ..looks like electrical tape . Was it stock that way? Mine didn’t have that

      @@TheJakobLott It's a rubber liner. It makes the sides a lot more comfortable to hold onto and prevents scratching/if you rub your arms against the side. I have the most recent 2023 model and it came with the liner attached. I guess older versions don't have it.

      If you check out comments to my other Tucktec videos, I have responded to similar questions and provided the name of the car door trims.

      this is a user add-on. even new tucktecs do not have this

    this is a cool setup but wouldnt just tying an anchor onto the cleat and dropping it be much easier

    • @JChanTV_youtube

      Yes it is easier. But in life, it is good to have nice backup plans for unexpected events :) That said, there is still value to keeping things simple.

    Does it take on water where you drilled those screws?

    • @JChanTV_youtube
      @JChanTV_youtube  Год назад +1

      No it does not, make sure it is drilled at a sufficiently "high" spot away from the water line

    • @creamsoda1005
      @creamsoda1005 Год назад

      use a latex sealant where you drill and it will be water tight
