Great to see pop again always enjoy seeing yall working together on projects
He’s always around mate, just not always on camera
@stevesplacedownunder that's awesome little brother my pop passed away many years ago I miss him so much
Two biggest issues with old gear, batteries and tyres. Glad to see the old gal running.
It certainly makes it hard mate yes
Steve I think you should cut a circle in the grass right up front and lay some pea gravel and put your grandad's Blitz on it. That's a family heirloom. 👊😎👍
Hi mate. It’s actually in mum and dads garden out the front of their place as it was mums fathers truck.
@@stevesplacedownunder Ah, you used to see it in the background up in the weeds behind your shed. Guess it finally got some respect. Good. 👊😎👍
You need a spring starter! No battery problems.
Hi Steve. The Ol' Man will have arms on him like Popeye after that steering workout!
Hi mart yes that’s right mate. She ended up coming good when she bled the air out though. Drives nice now actually
Awesome evening brother from another country down under how are yall doing great to see yall again another awesome adventure as always yall have an awesome day awesome Ole iron as always
That's awesome a new mower makes grass cutting so much better
She sounds mint the ole girl. 🍻
She does mate yes. I’m happy with it
Christ mate. Once it finally started it sounded good. Might need a good workout . Me birthday this weekend mate. 2 June I’m 71. I’ll be thinking of you whilst I have few. 😊 Scott 🌵
Happy Birthday mate.🍻👍🏻
Hi mate. Thanks for watching and Happy birthday Scott. All the best
Have a cold 🤧 one you young bloke, another Steve from Chicago Illinois!!!
I am as I’m replying mate
That engine sounds real good. What year is the girl. Watch your fingers around the fan.she wants to turn and work again. Old tractors are like people who lost their jobs. They just want to be useful again.
My Dad brought a new A554 in 1961 i think it was. The glow plugs never really worked so we always had a few cans of aerostart on the tractor , you lift the pre cleaner off and spray across the intake tube cold weather plenty of smoke.
Hi mate. Yes o believe they were always a handful to start. I’m happy giving her a short sniff of the stuff. They do get addicted but doesn’t bother me with this one
Hey Steve must be Tractor month Daves just posted a big 7500 White he,s been working on love seeing these old tractors start and run ,you seem a bit happier this time Mate, for what its worth i really enjoy your channel s content ,keep em coming
Kym
Adelaide
Hi Kym. Yes I speak with Dave a lot on the phone mate. This was actually filmed before the quitting video. It’s been done over a few weeks as I could get parts and get to it. We will be still going for a while Kym so no worries there mate
Fantastic channel. Cheers to both of you😂
G'day Steve,
Thanks for another cool vid,
Always enjoy your commentary as much as the machinery.
Great entertainment for the faithful.
Respect....!
Hi Craig thanks as always mate. Plenty more to come
F "n" A Steve ! IH made such a good product. Too bad we lost 'em . Good vid mate. Till next time ... Cheers 👊😎👍
Hi Paul yes mate they certainly did
Im back to drivin so havent had time to watch vids but will soon 🙂
Hi mate. No dramas and hope all is well there
Great job steve keep up the good work wish I had you as a neighbor
Thank you mate. Be careful what you wish for😅😅😅.
@@stevesplacedownunder seriously you have the coolest trucks especially that old waste management garbage truck I’ve been looking for one for years, but mine needs to have a leech rear load sanitation box on it
@alex84896 she’s fairly rotten in the rails this one mate but all works good still
@@stevesplacedownunder yeah that’s the unfortunate part about those old Macks their frames and stuff all rotted out that’s why most of them were scrapped here in the United States, especially in Ohio, where I am and the ones that weren’t scrapped were repainted, green and white. I absolutely hate those colors on those trucks.
She sounded bloody good Steve when she arced up cobber. As always we enjoyed it cobber. The grin on your face when she fired said it all mate.🤠
Hi Daryl yes mate I was very happy with it mate
Hey up steve happy belated Australia day, that inter sounds good probably just needs to be worked hard and a touch ov TLC, normally like to have a refreshment when watching but it's a bit too early
Hi Steve, it’s definitely a 564 with A554 tin work. They are great Aussie made tractors & about 65HP, I have one & hobby farm with it. The 554 didn’t have a hydraulic filter & hydraulic tank is different, also the 564 steering is fed from the hydraulic system while the 554 had an belt driven power steering pump on the left front side of the engine. Battery box was on the left side of the tractor on the 554 but they moved it to the right on the 564 to put the operators steps on the left side. They will not start without glow plugs unless you use either. The dash & seat on yours are also 564. Cheers mate & keep up the good work.
Hi Travis thank you mate. I have 2 other 564 tractors here and yes they all are the same as you say. They all have homemade battery boxes on them. I actually made one for this one in part 2 episode. I’m happy with the ether the amount that I use it. They do get addicted but it takes a long while. Thanks again
done well good luck
Thank you mate
Gday, with a few hours of solid work it’ll probably clean up quite a lot, definitely sounds alright mate, cheers
Yeah mate I’d say it will. He’s only ever really idle it around with the slasher on so hasn’t worked hard for a long while
Hi Steve what a sweet sounding engine that just needs some hard work to blow the shit out. Those books look like gold and are in bloody good condition.
Hi mate yeah I’m fairly happy with it. Hopefully if we need to use it one day it can work hard enough to help her out
The old rotary injector pumps when getting tired they get hard to start some times you can get away with opening the fuel governor just a tad until you see a tad of black smoke
Thanks Graham
Cheers for spooling up another series.🍻💪🏻
On the starter band, would drilling a drain hole and/or greasing/rtv the inner part help keep the rain out?.
Hi mate. Yes it probably would but the damage has already been done. It’s something I would consider when rebuilding one again
Yeah that A514s bonnet is off a ROW crop. Says Farmall which is the row crop brand.
Not all Farmalls were Rowcrop, the name was a model brand name.
Our new Farmall back in '42 was a normal, 4 wheel layout.
It's still in the family having being beautifully restored to better than new condition by my brother 18 years ago, it has a Hesford winch on the back.
It may have the tin work off one or it’s had the front axle put underneath it
Hi Steve, new subscriber, found your channel looking for videos on my Same 60 centauro tractor. I noticed your one came from down my way at kangaroo valley from the sticker on it.
Enjoying the vids, i have been watching the old ones. Nice relaxing, but also informative vids, keep going. Cheers.
Hi Peter thanks for watching. Yes it came from wrights originally mate. We got it locally her though. The old engine is complete worn out but still does the job. I’d like to pull the barrels off and have a look at it.
Hi Steve i had a international 785xl 1984 it was glazed up breathing and using oil I glaze busted it and engine ran like a new one cheap fix 👍
Hi Nick. How did you do that mate?
@@stevesplacedownunder Hi Steve I removed head, pushed pistons out top and fitted new ring's,Glaze busted original liners and slapped it back together with new head gasket had it done in a morning and it cost very little mate
grandad had 2 of the a554 tractors on his farm but they were sold. ive got a ford blitz truck i got going after 15 years its got a 253 holden v8 in it.
That would be a good one mate with a Holden in it
@@stevesplacedownunder yeah it is ive done a video on it.
What’s the channel again mate
@@stevesplacedownunder its bryce p official its the one this comment is on and theres a few videos on it and ive just uploaded one right now well it says it processing but thanks for the comment i love the content.
@@SquireBoon no problem mate. I typed that in and it didn’t come up. I will try again now
Love your videos I hope you don't Stop making RUclips videos I just discovered you about a month or 2 ago Loving the Video on everything old including tractor Just curious about Australia Is it summer time there or is it spring Here where I live in United States It is spring time starting to be summer It's getting the high 90s Fahrenheit Great video
Hi Chris thanks for watching mate. We are actually on the 4th day of winter just now so it’s getting very cold of a night now here in Sydney. I wish it was around 90 like your place at the moment. Days are short and cold here at the moment
Sounds good. That looks like it’s about comparable in size to a WD9.
Based on the W6/WD6 running gear I believe?
Yes mate it’s our version of one. A lot of interchangeable parts on them
Get it going good, an put on a pto pump will clean it out
We will sort a way out to work it mate yes
That tractor with the John Deere guards isn’t a a514 it’s a 554 with a514 tin work they where available as either a row crop or a wide front hence the steering shaft down the center love the video to mate can’t wait for the rest of the parts to come out so glad you haven’t quit also the international engines had the worst glow plug system ever made hence why a lot of them got addicted to ether I know the glow plugs are crook in my a514 but a quick sniff gets it going every time but the dragline needs a good sniff to get it going as none of the glow plugs work there is conversion kits to convert them to Toyota glow plugs tho that apparently work a lot better
It has an inline injector pump and doesn't have independent PTO, so I don't think it's an A554.
It might be an AWD7, if it's not an A514.
Hi mate thanks for reaching out. It has a 514 plate on it and the inline injection pump so I think it is from what I can see. They were very similar apart from the pump and a few other small changes. The parts book and repair manual lists both models. But I could certainly be wrong. Yes I think I’d rather use the ether than get the glow plugs all working. It doesn’t take much of it to get them going
Hey Steve, maybe the seam on the band goes on the bottom of the starter?
It overlaps mate so there really isn’t a seam there
Drill a hole in bottom of band could always bung it up for working in the dust
Only came across your channel yesterday definitely my kind of channel same as western truck and tractor repairs no frills, no, bulshit brilliant content but the same as Warren the time it takes to produce for little return. RUclips are real tight bastards try getting more money for all the effort. Yes put it out there about membership warren did see what reaction he got.
Hi mate thanks for watching and this great comment. I actually do the same job as him as my full time job. The hardest thing is not really the money at this stage but getting it out to the audience. It’s a very hard gig. All I want to do is share it all with more people but it’s a struggle. I’m not doing too bad but have seen how good others have gone in the same time. I don’t know what the secret is. He seems to be going well now. It may pick up for us hopefully mate. Thanks again
Hey Steve, have those older tractors got generators or alternators, as some old light trucks had generators to start but would not start with alternators. cheers Pete
Hi Peter. These ones have generators mate. Very common on this era of machine
did u make a video of the starter? if so did u put it on your asmr channel?
to break her addiction to aero start try some start ya bastard😂😂😂
I did mate yes for that exact reason but I came across the problem and now I need a part for it to finish the job and the video
@@stevesplacedownunder ok will have to check it out
