I still have my old man's 1952 AC WD. He bought it used in the mid 60s to be used with his AC roto baler. If I had a dime for every bale that tractor/ baler rig put together, I would be a rich man. The sound of that tractor brought back memories for me. Thanks for saving it from destruction.
I own a 1950 wd tractor too. Great tractor. Now sir I would taken out spark plugs put in some oil in cylinders and let soak before try turn over engine. Saving your piston rings. But glad got her running.
About 20+ years ago, I bought five vintage Allis Chalmers tractors sitting in an overgrown blackberry patch. I sold the CA to a restorer and a C to another vintage tractor enthusiast. A second C and B were in such bad shape that I parted them out. The oldest was a 1st production year B with a 4 digit serial number and ORIGINAL Wyco magneto. With profits from the other sold and parted out tractors I was able to fully restore my early B model and won a prize for it at show. These old workhorses will run longer than we will.
I like your intro! We have to keep saving the old iron or otherwise, it will be gone. Tractor pull season coming up. Our first one around here is in Carp in June. John Deere T-shirt ?? Oh No! lol. It actually sounds pretty good. Thanks for sharing
Hahahah I like Deere to , there isn’t much I don’t like other then kubota and the off shore stuff lol our first pull is June 3rd , hopefully I’ll get some good footage , thanks for watching John , cheers
it runs better than one i bought out of a farmer's junk pile mine only ran on 3 cylinders due to a burned valve.i overhauled it got a new battery box new tires and paint and took it to the field.
My father told me that when I was 4 (1959) that I was on our WD with him. He threw the hand clutch and got off to open a gate. I grabbed the hand clutch and pulled it back. He said I was grinning big. I got it through the gate and let go of the clutch. He said I did really well except for clipping the post. I remember riding on the battery box while he was plowing a field. I grew up with my butt in that seat many many hours. Plowing at night after school, the muffler would get cherry red. The good old days!
I too got on a Johnny at four and had trouble making it through the gate. Seemed mighty narrow at the time. The Johnnie's clutch was forward, not back like on this WD. I knocked my first light pole down at 6, the main one to our house with the pickup. Slipped over on the wet grass.
What a rescue, ii am 69 yrs old, and when i was little about 8 yrs old i learned to drive on a allis wd we had on our farm, i do not have that tractor anymore, but have a nice old 1948-9 i use all the time i bought at a sale for 500 dollars, i coverted over to 12 volts, now the starter quit so i just crank it by hand where do u find 12 v starters for a wd, i sure could use one.
just found your channel really like it the problem is like many other channels i listen mostly with head phones when i adjust the volume to hear thru the headphones when the music comes on almost blows my ear drums because it is so much louder wish could make music and voice the same level
Good day Boy your intro, you are tedding with rake! 2 neighbours had allis rakes & done that. What was that board there for? I notice by were pulley goes there was a tap or valve for hydr. Boy runs ! OK what was on trailer? Thanks U know many yrs ago we had ford van with 3.0 litre in I think that would be a good motor in tractor. A little bigger that 226 & not crazy on gas that is 1.60/ litre. Thanks A few more videos, or I my missing them
Good day Don, yeah that Allis rake works well, 2 speed plus tedding with adjustable pitch. By board do you mean the piece of tin covering the alternator? Was there when I picked it up. Sitting on the trailer in the back is a series 1 D17 with Allis 400 loader , that will be the subject of a different video. This is only a WD with the 201 engine , I can cut hay and rake all day on a tank they are pretty efficient. As for videos , I had a few shorts , but no real content is of late until this one. Was difficult getting back to normal life after I lost my father in February. Thanks for watching , cheers
Likely your point gap being too small , as it warms up it doesn’t leave enough dwell time , condenser could be going bad or the coil could be breaking down when hot. Also check the ignition timing. Start there and let me know how it goes , happy to help if I can , cheers
Glad you saved another old tractor! Have seen the AC B with a Harbor Freight Predator engine (6hp) replacing a stuck engine? ruclips.net/video/ayq2hC4Kvmw/видео.html

If it casts a shadow, it can be restored. You just have to be handy with money 😁 That Allis sounds great!
Haha that’s the truth lol

They are great tractors , the starters seem to stand up to 12 volts without issue . Even my high compression tractor
I've been running 12 volts on my WD45 6 volt starter for 30 years!
My dad had an I - 600 forklift.. shuttle shift drive and indestructible..AC for me
Good job brother.
had a AC WC, very similar but no electric, hand crank start, magneto ignition. would sit all winter and start right off in the spring
Great job 👏

@@ontariovintagetractor thanks
@tommysmith6089 not a problem ,
Let me know if it works
I have a AC WD and it is having a prob. It runs rough after it warms up. Any ideas what this might be?

Now all it needed before moving was the oil, (condensation), drained out of the bottom of the gearbox and she will last ya'll years.
Well ur just. Lucky it started lol
They usually do , I’m not real optimistic when they are seized though lol
Yeah it happens lol I know how it goes when it doesn’t start
How do you drain the fule?
You can remove the fuel line from the carb and open the valve
@@ontariovintagetractor thanks!
