Hi David yes it does mate. I’ve learned a lot over the years playing with them, plus I’m an earthmover mechanic through the day so it all adds to it. I’d rather play with the old equipment though. There are some interesting ones in n the collection and it’s still growing to which is good
I drived such a model in 1974 - Fuel injection pump CAV England - since 1977 I owned any Same till today - in forest skidding with Tiger Six - makes a great job
Hi mate that’s great. Good to see you still have it. I’m sure they are great for skidding. Very stable and powerful. Thanks for the comment and watching
You have some nice old tractors there. I don't know much about the two that you drove, but the old Massey tractors you have were sold half way around the world and parts are still available. Keep those old things running and they might out live all of us. Keep up the good work.
Hi Brian thanks for watching mate. I don’t know a lot about those ones either mate. I used to have the 6ft slasher on that zetor, as it was in this video, but since I bought the Massey 165 off the family I put it on that and haven’t regretted it. Such a beautiful tractor to use with the power steering and everything is so easy compared to the zetor. I have 2 MF 35’s also with the 3 cylinder Perkins in them, both great tractors. I also have 2 MF 30’s which are made in France(I think). Those France ones are very hard to find parts for mate. Thanks again mate and there’s plenty more to come
@@stevesplacedownunder Here in the US there are a lot of old Massey Harris and Massey Ferguson tractors around. The 135's are still popular with a bunch of people. They are popular with collectors too, so if you have trouble getting parts, see if you can make contact with some people here. I'm sure there are some people here who know of places to obtain parts or ways to fix old parts. Good luck.
I love my SAME 105 Tiger. I was babying it to start with and it started to glaze the bores like bad valve stems. Me mate who worked at a dealer in the day said it was a problem so workm harder it cleared them up. I have some dealer manual s came with it. Don't let hydraulic oil leak out of implement s it will screw the transmission., A common gearbox problem.
Hi mate thanks. I’d say this one was never worked hard knowing where it first came from. It’s possible that that’s what contributed to the problem now with the engine. Thanks for advice on it👍👍
Once I acquire it mate I will be doing just that. The people across the road own it at the moment but I will do another one on it soon because I want to test the injectors. That won’t help with blow by but will help it run evenly. Glad you like it mate thank you
It would be good if you could find someone that could repair those rusty cabs. It would take a lot of bondo. Plus it would involve a lot of beer consumption. I like that Centauro tractor. That's a nice 4 banger I would put a couple of turbos on and give it some good power and put a larger blade on.
Thanks Neil yes I’d love to get a bloke to do some weekend work on them.. there’s going to be beer drunk regardless of what happens 😂. Yes she has a lot of potential. For a smaller tractor it has a lot of power even how It is at the moment. I like it to mate
I worked as an agricultural machinery mechanic in Germany 25 years ago. Same tractors were always a pain, I didn't like them at all. unreliable, especially in winter and difficult to repair compared to the other brands we have served. Luckily there were only a few of them among our customers. There were also always problems obtaining spare parts. Still, a great performance and an entertaining video 👍🏻
This is great mate I love to hear what people think of different machines. I haven’t had anything to do with them except this one. More to come very soon on it and thanks for watching
@@stevesplacedownunder there are also people for whom these are the best tractors... personal taste and experience with the different brands are crucial. For me personally, the IHC/Case 1455XL was the optimum at that time. I also liked the Ford TWs, which didn't get much approval from my colleagues 😂
That Eytie engine sounds great, thought it was going to be a smoker but it cleared up quite well. It would be a shame to just let it rot. If, as you say, you could get that blade to angle and it looks as though it's strong enough to push some dirt you could use it to flatten out a site for a new shed or two.
Hi mate. I think a set of injectors or at least get get them serviced she might be better. Still breathing very heavily. I’d use it all the time if you could angle it. I’ve got a cylinder here to use on it. All I need is a valve and I can make it happen.
I love both the Same and the Zetor. My dad owned an 1968 3511, great tractor, this 6911 one is just bigger, but in fact the same. And the Same tractors.... I worked with the Saturno 80, with an inline 4 cilinder. Also the Panther 90, and the Tiger 100, both 5 cilinders. Great simple tractors
Hi mate they are great tractors. The zetor is a really good powerful machine. I actually have a smaller one coming, a 3 cylinder one which is identical to this one but smaller. Good comment mate it’s great to see blokes appreciate this stuff rather than the British and American equipment all the time.

Sure Steve why not man. I would put them to use somehow. Get them out of nothing else just to keep them working still. You can use them for hauling firewood with to.
I don't think the engine is shot, I think the injectors and or the injection pump needs rebuilt. That tractors well worth fixing. Oh , and a starter lol.
Hi mate thanks for watching. It does breathe heavy but the injectors definitely are a problem too. I haven’t had them tested but it’s the first thing I will be doing. I bought a cheap crack tester recently so I will pull them out to have a look
And a stubbie to ease the pressure of having to move all that lantana!! Hate the stuff. Have fun mate. Bloody hell - after watching you move that "lovely" flower and at double speed I could do with a beer also. I'm stuffed just watching.
Steve, you know what equipment you need regularly, so get those up to right first, then as time allows, bring all the rest up to right. One of the most successful independant farmers I knew in the US operated his grandfather's farm this way, every machine on it from the beginning was overhauled, repainted, and in garages, said it took 5 years to get it like that, equipment his dad & grandfather had just left sitting for decades took longest, but now if needed he can do small jobs around the farms without pulling out the expensive new prone to electronic failure mega-tractors which the old stuff now 'backs up' if the dealer can't get a service truck out quickly enough to repair the new electronics. If it couldn't be repaired, he bought another like it, and the original became his parts stock. only 2 ancient tractors and a couple of accessories were in that category.
Hi John thanks for watching. The ones I use are ok at the moment. They need a bit of work but nothing serious enough to stop it. I’ve heard a few of these stories now mate where the blokes are still farming with the old equipment or just prefer older equipment. It’s great that people are still using and restoring this stuff. I have that much stuff here at my place that I don’t know where to start
@@stevesplacedownunder Basically the same thing, he was in a bit better shape to start as most of their old stuff was still garaged in buildings too small for the newer replacements, and their farm had expanded largely after he took it over from his dad, so he wasn't having to reclaim an entire farm at the same time as you've been, that in itself is a remarkable feat worthy of a book, a video series, even a mini-documentary with photos if no video for RUclips.
That's great, a lot of tractors are there dut this 96 Zetor is good. I have at home 77 Zetor. He has been working for me meny years. I like tractors, Thank you for the video.

Yes they are in your history so I’m not sure how many were brought over to Australia. Certainly not a common machine here
The early SAME were good old brutes .I used to drive a 1980s SAME tiger 6 105 and you could not fault it .I am not too keen on the newer ones they seem to lack guts .
Hi mate this is the only one I’ve ever had anything to do with and yes it is a good old brute. New ones I can’t really comment but I’d believe it. I think that goes with a few makes
Great video Steve! Surprised how difficult it was the fire up, when it started to smoke so quick I thought it would pick up. Interesting machine, never realised they had a V4. Subscribed!
Hi again mate. Yes it’s never been that hard to start but never sat that long either. It has needed a rebuild for a long time. Thanks for the sub mate and there’s plenty more to come
I probably could have got the barrels and pistons etc for the old salami through work but we are closing up shop now. Any duetz dealer should be able to source the parts you need though
Thanks mate I would of probably been interested. I’d say it would be a fairly expensive job. I actually know a bloke here that works in a deutz dealer for stationary engines but should be the same thing. I will ask next time I’m there
@@stevesplacedownunder i just finished an engine for a Same Krypton, just got the guy going again i put new pistons, sleeves rod bearings etc no head or crank work and the final bill inc labour was around 20k (that included a clutch and other repairs too though) i believe the pistons, sleeves, ring and bearings were around 1000 bucks per cylinder, so yes not a cheap rebuild but your tractor would be worth a bit of coin in the current market. Mind you the reason it cane in because it had a coolant leak and the guy used dam water in substitute for coolant and the sleeves suffered electrolysis and pin holed one sleeve filling the cylinder with water
Just got onto your channel a couple of days ago Steve, I like what I see. No bullshit ....or all bullshit maybe, hahaha. Good stiff mate, just subscribed. I have a Zetor 6945 about the same year model as yours. They are a well equipped tractor with hi and low range, low low is a crawler gear and can shred your tyres before it will stall, 2 speed PTO. Mine has an under axle blade also. When I bought it second hand from a dealer he had replaced the block and rebuilt it after the motor had been ripped off the bell housing, I kid you not. He then strengthened the blade mounts so it wouldn't happen again. Anyway he had done such a good job that i was impressed so I bought it. Czhechoslovakia also make the BRNO riffle which is a very decent riffle so I reasoned that if their tractors were as good as their rifles, then it would do me fine. After 37 years I see no reason to change my opinion.. In our terminology mate, they are good shit. It was built in the early 70s I think. By the way they still make Zetor tractors today. All the best.
Hi Bruce thanks for reaching out and glade you like it. I don’t really change on the camera, if people don’t like it they don’t have to watch, so the bullshit I carry on with doesn’t change when filming 🤣🤣. I think the Zetor tractors are great. I didn’t mean to get so many really but one was given to me, one was $500 and one isn’t yet mine,(the 6911). They are a powerful machine with everything that a tractor should have and easy to use. If it was a Massey Fergusen for instance, I wouldn’t of got it for as little as $500. They are a strong reliable machine and cheap. For a bloke starting out on a small farm or property, they are a great way to afford a great usable tractor.. I can actually see it breaking like you said because they are a long wheelbase compared to other tractors of their size and no chassis. But the power they put to the ground is unreal I think mate. I really like them. I couldn’t see it go to scrap. Good to talk mate, thanks for subscribing and stay tuned for plenty more adventures
@@stevesplacedownunder The reason she snapped the motor off the bell housing was that they were back blading and spun the wheel on full lock and as she swung around backwards the corner of the under axle blade caught a stump and snapped her in two. It broke the flange off the motor on the left side and took out a section of the bell housing where the starter fits. The repairs were well done so I had no reservations about buying it. The original blade frame was bolted to the motor only, that is why it happened. Repairs saw a new frame carried to the final drive housing. Game set and match. No more breakages. Thanks for getting back mate. Your a no bullshit guy, that comes through very clearly mate. Keep up the good work. Cheers. Bruce. PS I live near Kempsey on the north coast NSW on a couple of hundred acres..
Steve, not sure if you know it or not but the Zetors have a quick start button between the on board compressor and the injector pump. It is a small button and easily missed. Pull the fuel lever (accelerator) to the on position, hit the button and they start very quickly. Saves the battery big time mate. Cheers.
The biggest bane of old tractors is their tires, if the tractor isnt out and out junk. They are so expensive now. Then its parts for obsolete machines like those we love. Its getting so the parts aren't carried by any outfit. Its really a shame. My old John Deere B still is going at 75.I am getting it overhauled this winter.Love running it so I figure its money well spent. So keep the tires aired up and they last.A rear for my B set me back $601 US .Worth every penny but you have to have it.
Hi mate yes you are right but so far everything I’ve done up or gotten going has ok/good tyres. If I have a wreck I just keep the tyres on it, the they are part of it and not a problem. I paid 600 for a tyre on a farmall h I bought that needed one back one. This has been the the only tyre issue

Good to see the Centrauo Running. They were very popular on the South Coast and Southern Highlands. She'd be a 1970 - 1972. Parts for the old Same's are getting hard to get but I'd be trying Aussie Ag Spares in Sepparton (Darrell) Burnett's in QLD and D & D in Griffith and John Wright in Kangaroo Valley ( He's a wealth of knowledge. All really good to deal with, we have a couple of Older and Newer Same's we run along with a couple of David Brown's.
Hi mate yeah ok I didn’t know they were popular down there. Parts were hard to get years ago so I’d imagine it’s harder now. I remember it broke a part in the lift behind the seat. We ended up finding one in Dungog. Had to buy the whole lift component and pull the part from it. It was a fairly technical process to fit and adjust. Another bloke also recommended Burnett’s. Once I buy the tractor off the owner I will pull her down and see what she needs. Good to see you run David brown tractors. I like them. @@stevesplacedownunder they were hugely popular in the mountain areas and with the grape growers. Yeah I’ve subscribed to those blokes. Good channel. I sometimes get frustrated watching though when I can see what’s going on😂
That is a cracking machine with the blade on and that Zetor is a big un, you can chat all day while you're filming Cheers
On all the older same there’s a button on the end of the injector pump that you can pull out and it makes it much easier to start.
Yes mate but this one is lack of compression I’d say.
My same just starts first pop. I’ve never noticed the button you mentioned I’ll look tomorrow
Nice one Stevo. That's some excellent stubby control there mate, around 34:25

A Same tractor in Australia??
Wow😳
Greetings from Italy!! 👋👋

Hi over there Paul. Yes mate there are a lot of them over here
The place looks amazing. Twenty two acres. I am quite jealous. I hope you have many happy years with your family
Thank you John. I certainly hope so too mate

Dreadful stuff mate
Bloody Argentinian curse.
Bring back the Sammy. Very nice tractor. I have only seen one other. I really like them. Thank you for showing it off.
Hi mate no problem thanks for watching. I may do another video on it. A tree fell down behind my house so I might video the Sammy pulling it away maybe

Another great video buddy thanks for SHARING
Thanks again mate👍👍🤘🤘🤘
I did not know that Zetor was sold also in to Australia...nice video...and nice collection
Hi mate yes I’ve seen a few just in our area. I know of another smaller one just up the road. Thanks for nice words👋👋👋👍👍👍
"Couldn't give a Castlemaine 4X!" LOL! We used to get that here in UK, and I really helped the cause!
Hi mate. It’s not bad stuff, for a mid strength anyway. I wasn’t aware that it made it all the way over to you blokes. That’s really interesting. I’m glad you supported it😅😅😅. Great one mate very good

Hi Robert that’s right mate. That’s everything I’d like to do to it. I’d like to pull it down and inspect it all to see what’s going on with it
I was sitting here drinking a Yuengling lager watching your video when you showed your beer. Sounds like you're gonna have to rebuild that starter. Cheers from eastern Tennessee
Hopefully you enjoyed it mate. The whole engine needs a rebuild along with the starter. Once I own it I will do exactly that. Would be a good job
Heeey Zetor... I'm suprprised to see it there. Anyway - grettings from Czech Republic.

Interesting collection of tractors. It must give you an education when you work on them.
Great job Steve, keep the cold snacks flowing, do whatever Roger says and you can’t go wrong 😊
Thanks mate, he’s there to lend a hand mate indeed 😊😊
Great to see it moving. Keep up on the good work . I will be watching. ....lpo
Thank you mate fantastic
Good luck.
Mate you have some great old tractors there real beasts ! Loved your channel mate , keep up the great work ! Thanks from Tas 🍺🍺

Well done! Another great tractor brought back to life 😅
Hi Anthony thank you
Zetors always had cool little gadgets on them like engine driven air compressors etc. Ive known them to be real good tractors.
Yes mate they are good tractors. This one has been great over the years
Zetor je skvělý traktor! Mám Zetor 7245 už 38 let. Funguje každý den bez vážného selhání.
Thanks for advice on it👍👍
keep up the good work Steve , i would also love to see the rebuld
Once I acquire it mate I will be doing just that. The people across the road own it at the moment but I will do another one on it soon because I want to test the injectors. That won’t help with blow by but will help it run evenly. Glad you like it mate thank you
What a machine! Great little collection!
Hi mate thanks for watching 🙏🙏🙏
It would be good if you could find someone that could repair those rusty cabs. It would take a lot of bondo. Plus it would involve a lot of beer consumption.
I like that Centauro tractor. That's a nice 4 banger I would put a couple of turbos on and give it some good power and put a larger blade on.
Thanks Neil yes I’d love to get a bloke to do some weekend work on them.. there’s going to be beer drunk regardless of what happens 😂. Yes she has a lot of potential. For a smaller tractor it has a lot of power even how It is at the moment. I like it to mate
I love the twin exhaust stacks 👌
Hi Greg yes mate they look great. They are also real being a bee engine which is good 👍👍🤘🤘
my grandfather worked in the Same factory here in Italy. I dind't know they were sold outside Italy!! Shed a tear
Hi mate yes a lot made it over to Australia
❤
That Eytie engine sounds great, thought it was going to be a smoker but it cleared up quite well. It would be a shame to just let it rot. If, as you say, you could get that blade to angle and it looks as though it's strong enough to push some dirt you could use it to flatten out a site for a new shed or two.
Hi mate. I think a set of injectors or at least get get them serviced she might be better. Still breathing very heavily. I’d use it all the time if you could angle it. I’ve got a cylinder here to use on it. All I need is a valve and I can make it happen.
My grandson loves your tractors 😅
Thank you mate

I have friends here in the States that use Zetor and other makes, farming is about making a living, not making John Deere rich because they refuse to give information on their electronic systems.
Yes mate that’s correct. We have had the same problem here with no product support from them for a tractor at our work. In other way’s very helpful though

Sure Steve why not man. I would put them to use somehow. Get them out of nothing else just to keep them working still. You can use them for hauling firewood with to.
Yeah John I’d like to use most of them mate
I don't think the engine is shot, I think the injectors and or the injection pump needs rebuilt. That tractors well worth fixing. Oh , and a starter lol.
Hi mate thanks for watching. It does breathe heavy but the injectors definitely are a problem too. I haven’t had them tested but it’s the first thing I will be doing. I bought a cheap crack tester recently so I will pull them out to have a look

Don't forget to turn the fuel off on your centuro tractor either mate. As in the diesel fuel.
It’s great mate that he’s done this. I wish I had of started documenting all this stuff when I first arrived here, it would of been a great series.

I see a need of Lopper Pruners in his future. lol
Yes I subscribed to your channel already to Steve. I liked it.& Commented on them to for ya. Good job. Keep it up.& Keep those videos coming to man?
Thanks for subscribing John. Yeah mate stay around there’s plenty more coming
@@stevesplacedownunder
The reason she snapped the motor off the bell housing was that they were back blading and spun the wheel on full lock and as she swung around backwards the corner of the under axle blade caught a stump and snapped her in two.
Cheers.

Hi Mark thank you mate

I have one old 30c petrol here and a 1200 I think it is but it’s locked up. I haven’t looked into what’s wrong with that one. I got it in that condition
@@stevesplacedownunder they were hugely popular in the mountain areas and with the grape growers. We had one of the main importers here in Robertson and for 30 years just about every second tractor was a Same. Yeah parts can be hard to get even for the newer ones but they can be found. The Centrauo being a two year only model will be hard to get bits for but they are a great machine and very unique with the V4 and fairly rare even by Euro standards . Grandpa and Dad started with fordson and then went to David Brown's and then Same. Rather than trade them in we just built another shed and kept them. Ive got a 950, a 66 880 a 66 990 a 72 1210 4wd and a 84 1494. The Same's 81 Centruion 75, 82 Buffalo 130 a 97 Dorado 70, 2001 Dorado 85 and a 2006 Dorado 86. All have their specific jobs that they are good at and they are all turn key ready for a days work.
It has a great Center of gravity mate very stable. I can see why they like them in the mountains. I have never seen another Centauro around here. It sounds like you have a great collection of equipment there too mate with is great. Good to see that they are kept and still going. Great stuff
