Very helpful video. Thank you so much I was puzzled with. I can’t find the navigation on this vehicle. I have a Ford Explorer that is different so I was really confused so this really helped.

You're welcome! The nav isn't standard on the lower trims with this smaller screen but Android Auto and CarPlay more than make up for that ;)

Google maps put it at 0° latitude - 0° longitude. There is an make-believe island at that point called Null.

Wild, I had no idea that was a thing. Learn something new every day. Thanks!

@@CarsWithSteve Yep, in reality there is a buoy to mark the point however.

Is wireless connection to android auto a new option? Thought a cord was needed

This is for one of the newer Sync4 systems in the 2023 Escape. The 2022 and previous generation are on Sync3 that’s wired CarPlay/Android Auto

My 2024 escape ( st hybrid) doesn’t have a park aid option. Is that why I don’t have active guidelines?

On the infotainment system look at Features --> Driver Assistance --> Park Aid System. If that option isn't there, your vehicle doesn't have support for it

This did not show us why you can't press the voice button on the steering wheel. Should be able to press that once even without a phone connected, and it should make a beep and you can tell it to change radio stations or help or dial a number if your phone is connected. It should work even without using Android auto.
Voice commands do not seem to exist with the 8-inch display.

Because it's a walkthrough on the infotaimment system and not on the steering wheel...
Not all Ford vehicles support a voice assistant, and in the Sync4 system in the new Escape it is just the larger screen that supports it. The voice command button on the steering wheel will only work to activate your Siri/Google Assistant when hooked up over bluetooth or CarPlay/Android Auto

@CarsWithSteve thank you for the prompt response and that confirms what I have determined is wrong with sync for with the 8 inch screen. It is ridiculous that a feature that's been standard on sync since it first came out in 2012 or longer, that you now have to pay for a larger screen for a minimum of $900 up to $3,000 .
      Thank you again for clarifying.

I was surprised when Ford decided not to have the assistant standard on this small screen too. It's similar in the Bronco Sport too.. only 1 trim level has the assistant, otherwise it's just a button to use Siri/Google Assistant. Guess you have to separate the trim levels so how

I have the larger screen on my escape but I like this size better..😢

Haven't seen anyone do a swap yet and since the Escape with the larger screen has climate built in... it would be a lot to swap it all out. How are you liking the Escape otherwise?

It appears that a lot of things that are missing on the 24 no matter what trim level.
I had a 21 that had active guidelines with nothing more than backup sensors but no Auto parking. My 21 also allows me to use my 8-inch screen and press the voice button on the steering wheel and without using Android auto or apple carplay I could also make phone calls change radio stations ask for help have it read me my text messages
