I just finished my rug. I used 2 comfy cotton blend yarn. I used #6 cotton 100 yard rope from discount store. I ran out of rope (I still had more yarn) so I went into my garage a nd found some more rope. I really like it. Thank you for showing us how to do it.
Hi Mary! You can use acrylic. You will definitely need a rug pad underneath as it will slide a lot and you want to prevent any possible injuries. Also with acrylic, just make sure it's machine washable as you may want to toss it in the wash and not all acrylics will wash well in heavy duty machines. Good luck and let me know how you make out;)
I will share a tip i learned just yesterday on a short. Use slicon in a tube (like the clear kind for tub/sink caulking). Dab it on the back with a sponge all around. Allow to dry reccomended time. Doesnt have to be on thick unles you preferr it. It washes well too. Im gojng to get some to put on my two rugs for the backporch as the rubber backing is sliding around now i've had them so long but i hate to get rid of them because they trap the dirt/wet so well. I used shelf liner too but eventually it compressed to paper thin n quit working for keeping them from sliding. I could get more i guess but going to try this. If eventually that wears down which im sure it will as its a well traveled area i could reapply after a good washing.
I just LOVE this rug!!!♥️ I have been searching everywhere for a pattern for a large crocheted rug. Could this one be made 9x12 feet? Looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks so much
Guess what? I'm a dolt! I already have this one live on the Crochet Crafty website and it's FREE!:) You can find it here: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/crochet-rope-rug.pdf. Enjoy!😀

Absolutely! Just get yourself a lot more rope;)
❤
What happens if you don’t want the strands on each end. Can you just keep use a continuous strand of cording
Indeed you can. Just keeping bending it up to the next row.👍
how would you apply this to an oval shaped rug?
HI O! You will soon find out. There's an oval project coming out in the next little while. Stay tuned!
@@TheStitchSessions yay! ty :)
Have you ever used a thicker rope?
Not as of yet.
Hello, could you post a pattern for your rug? I would find it a lot easier to have the instructions listed out, I would buy it off your Etsy!
HI Steph! Will do. It's on my short list so stay tuned!👍
