my all time favorite wrestling move to use in bjj
I have a huge series of wrestle offs coming up this week. Binge watching these videos and taking notes right now.
+Andrew Boykin more videos here www.kolat.com/stance--motion-series use the search function to see what is available in our sample library
Iv used this move in one of my tournaments and it worked awesome. It's also a real crowd starter... Thank you Kolat!
I hope that guy gets paid for all the shit done to him lol
Alexander Orozco
He gave him 50
Push-up
It doesn't rly hurt if u know how to breakfall properly. It looks and sounds more impactful than it feels.
The only videos I turn to help me with my no-gi judo. Judo + Wrestling = the best!
I like the snap for many of my setups, but not so fond for this one. When I hit the arm throw I like my opponent coming in. Not heading away. Which is the natural reaction to the snap down. I would like to drill this and see if I can get it to work for me. Because you can never have too many tools in the bag.
Heather Gatica agreed. This seems like an awfully low percentage move.
I love this throw, it's very versatile. Obviously it's a solid technique for competitive wrestling, but if you do submission grappling, Obie's arm is in perfect position for an arm bar, because the throw straightens and isolates it. If MMA is more your style, the throw lands you in a kesa gatame scarf hold, great for striking or submissions. And if you ever have to defend yourself, this one can turn into a real spinal adjustment.
This man is like a wrestling encyclopedia. Whats funny is that I see alot of similarities between wrestling and Karate throws, Judo throws, even Sumo throws. I know little about wrestling but it seems like most people aren't using even a fraction of the total amount of moves there are. Who could?
I love his videos he rlly helped me out for my wrestling season. Great job Mr. Kolat!
Thank you for those videos! Cary Kolat is the best wrestler in the world ;)
so Fucking clean this is definitely your throw man.
Mr.kolat thanks for all those videos you post.it helps me alot when im wrestling.
Jesus you make it look so easy
Harrison Carhart yeah bro like I wanna try this in a match but like what if I don't get this guy over my head like that
Harrison Carhart it's wicked asf
@Silent Psykosis replace the arm throw with a hip toss instead alot easier to execute
His assistant is the real champ in this video.
Obie always looks like he is having a great time in these videos.
Hey you need to make more of these instructional videos there amazing
thanks for the awesome vids, they are very helpful on the mat
you really helped me alot first time wrestling and im a bad ass
First year wrestlers don't come off as bad ass, try being in one of the bigger experienced tournaments
wow the speed. So I counted 4 key movements from the Inside Tie.. Head Snap, Left arm, Right, Hop Step..
i absolutely love your videos they really helped me out during my matches
I'm glad you like them and they are helping you, let me know if there is anything I can do to improve them.
***** My son is a JV clinic wrestler and has a 14 - 4 record, but he only has one pin. He gets technical falls sometimes, but I feel he should end the match sooner against lesser opponents. Does he lack power being 12 years old and only 65 pounds with a skinny frame. I am a martial artist since I was 15, not sure if I was built like him at his age. I think I was about 70 pounds, I was a bigger eater.
Why didn't I find you sooner? great vids!
Cary Kolat great videos keep making them please. I've learned a lot from you but can you please make more standup drills. Thanks.
DeVante: Thanks and most of the stuff is on Kolat.com our youtube channel we release 1 a week from a variety of areas.
OK i`ll start going on kolat.com thank you.
***** can i join your class... pless send your school address.............abhijeetyadav32@gmail.com

+aaron terry Check out our free practice planner at www.kolat.com/practice-planner.html
How do you drill backsteps by your self?
And do you have a video for double overhook salto throw?
Say whatttt. A video? Please more, I've been waiting before wrestling season.
This is one of my favorite move
Could you use this in Folkstyle Wrestling like in highschool
Yeah.
I wrestle in 285 weight class I'm definitely gonna try this next match
Hey man I love ur videos wish i was good as u great videos.
Thank u so much sir
I've always had problems with this type of move. I was taught that when you snap down the head, you do it as hard as possible to drive their face into the mat. If they are caught offguard and go down you move to a front headlock. If not, you leave your back leg you stepped with during the snap down in place, change levels and take a short step forward and move into a shot as they come up. In my experience I either get the front headlock or I shoot and we just sort of scramble back to neutral. I think this move is the perfect thing to try since you are going for the arm and turning into your backward-moving momentum for the throw. But I have a hard time trapping that arm off the move.
Are you snapping down full-force or going half way to get them into that upright position when they counter? I wonder if I'm stepping back too far, if that question makes any sense...
I understand why you use the snap, but why would you use a double under hook when grabbing the arm to start the throw? Wouldn’t you instead want to have one over and one under, just cause it’d be stronger that way?
Mr. Kolat, thanks for another great video. I wrestled a bit in high school and later did martial arts. If a guy my age wanted to train wrestling just for the love of it, where would you advise he start?
I'm sad that nobody replied to you. I'm in a similar situation, and I'd love to know where someone could train wrestling if they're not attending college or university anymore. Hope you've found somewhere or something else to train. Have a good one 👍
Cary Kolat what club should a be fit in because I'm 4`8 and I'm 12 -2.
in grappling they often end up taking your back or straight into a RNC
so fluid
thanks... inspired me
Are you moving to the head after this throw into a north-south position? Is it unsafe to change into a head and arm from here?
MMA I would look for a North South position in wrestling we may also go there to attempt a pin.
that's sounds cool, I never even new that was a thing.
mr kolat, my name is Caleb, I'm a second year wrestler and next year is my senior year. I'm trying my damnedest to win state for my coach next year but I'm afraid that I don't have the experience or technique or the strength to do so. so for technique i watch your videos and drill them in my head, and for strength i work out with the team. but I still lack experience to become a state champion. what should I do?
and when I said drill them in my head, I mean when I'm off the mat, on the mat I do all of this stuff on my drilling partner ( which by the way is terrible ) but nobody else wants to practice with me BECAUSE im a 2nd year wrestler. I know a lot of technique because of your videos and i know I have the determination to win state, but I just don't know if it's mentally or physically possible for me to do so. please give me feedback ASAP
+BlaZe_Jwmper It's important to have goals. You should do strength training and compete in the offseason to get more matches and experience. You should look to improve at every practice and with every match learning from your mistakes and you will be surprised how far you can go. Read this blog from my website. www.kolat.com/blog/i-had-to-go-there-every-day-by-cary-kolat
+Cary Kolat (KOLAT.COM) yes sir. I will do that. thank you for your support and help mr kolat
Salute sir
Hi I was wondering what to do if I don't like to take shots and am just in general not good on my feet but everywhere else I have no problems. Any tips to get throw bys (my favorite) or front headlocks on neutral. Thanks any help is appreciated.
+Snurg We have more free moves on my website. For example: www.kolat.com/clearing-the-collar-tie/clear-collar-tie-inside-elbow-throw-by OR www.kolat.com/clearing-the-collar-tie/clear-collar-tie-under-elbow-throw-by and 2400 moves in the library if you join www.kolat.com/full-access.html
What a badass move, if I did this to a 275lbs opponent I'm sure I would've ripped their entire arm off. lol beautiful move Cary.
Is this move high performance or is it easy to get reversed?
That question makes no sense..
+co8539 the question makes sense, the wording's just a little off.
Ty
This move is hard to use on small people like me. I prefer the the snap then a shot maybe like a blast double!
Should i cross train judo and wrestling in the off season to improve my throws?
Demon Yes, you'll have the advantage in judo if you already know wrestling
Punching Stuff What about for wrestling though? I'm just interested in no gi judo throws.
Demon Either one would go hand in hand because there both grappling, I know this is irrelevant but it also applied to football, I was already wrestling so my first year of football I was way better than the rest of the first year players
I am on a very big team and I have an issue where my drilling partner for the weight class does all these weird things to inflict pain on me like dig his nails into me while we're in a tie what could I do to take control of collar tie better
+Aveen Arya If you are on a big team find a different drilling partner even if you have to go up a weight or down a weight. Find someone who has the same goals as you and wants to get better every day. It's not worth wasting your time with someone acting childish during practice. Also, he must be threatened by you and that is why he is using dirty tricks. Don't let him bully you get better than him and teach him a lesson. Here are some good ways to clear ties and get him off you if you do have to drill with him: www.kolat.com/clearing-ties-series
+Cary Kolat (KOLAT.COM) thank you so much
Would this work for 200 pounds
i hit this move all the time at practice.
Can you do this in high school wrestling or is it free style?
I would like to know that too
You can use this in high school but it is risky. In freestyle there is a slip rule that also you to take the risk without losing points if you slip off the arm.
So you want to keep in contact with the arm
Absolutely
ok sweet makes sense.
Hey thank you, i done this in a match and pin the guy thanks coach Kolat.
What move you recommend for a heavyweight?
+Luis Merino +Cary Kolat (KOLAT.COM) We have some good stuff from heavyweight Kerry McCoy (NCAA Champ and World Medalist) on our website: www.kolat.com/collar-tie-series
I like to snap and when they get back up shoot a double and half nelson as a finisher
Yeah that's some folkstyle 101
Lol
Basic wrestler 101
Max Austin danke trener😍😍😍😍
Is this worth 5 points in freestyle
There are no 5 point moves anymore so throws like that are worth 4 points max
Is this legal, for little guys?
+ediot6969 Yes
Nice
the throw is half like a hip toss and a Ippon seoi nage
superbb
is it legal in highschool wrestling?
Yes it is legal for folkstyle but it is a risky move because there is no slip rule.
That wouldcbe so cool to see in a match
Cary Kolat is Back! US Open Freestyle 2011
*****
***** I been working on those moves
lol agree. must be nice to be the test dummy. otherwise, great move and a move i used to use all the time in high school
Isn't this throw used in Judo?
Judo, wrestling, MMA I would not say it is only a judo move.
They call it Ippon Seonage, which is probably the most iconically used term for it.
Ippon seio nage I love it
Man new vids?
Obie's no slouch!
👏👏👏
I like that
Yeah, judokas should always train a few hours out of the week without a gi. There is no better training partner than a wrestler when it comes to no-gi takedowns.
I this legal in middle school?
Yes it is legal but it is risky because there is no slip throw rule so if you slip off the arm you will get taken down.
folkstyle?
i love wrestling just not the conditioning it requires
If only I had chosen wrestling instead of boxing . These days I'm just regretting 😞😞😞😞😞😞
nice..
is this actually legal in folk style?
Yes
Is this folkstyle.?
굿굿
It won't work unless you practice on dummy or person you wanna apply that move on.
ya interesting...
pedro de oliveira
This guy farts in just about every video
kii4s haha, no that is not the case it's the microphone and the surface of the mats. The slow motion combined with the sound picks up the squeaking of the shoes on the this mat surface.
Cary Kolat Sure it does
kii4s lol
I'm surprised he jumped on this comment so quick! 😂😂
If you get hit by this you are being too aggressive and need to control your hips a ton better.
renzo gracie says hi

What had happed was....
Iv used this move in one of my tournaments and it worked awesome. It's also a real crowd starter... Thank you Kolat!
Post the video if you have would love to see you hit in competition?
***** I'm going to have one of my friends record it at my next match as soon as possible.
