A really enjoyable performance. Its a pity that Mathieu has moved on. Obviously a bit of of an individual but a terrific contributor to the whole. You are and remain a class act. My very best wishes to you all and I am looking forward to what is to come.
@@waraylitz1614 I do. Well, honestly I find live music often disappointing. Maybe try finding some honest and resonant recordings on the web or Spotify first, and then try your luck with live orchestras. Try Bernstein’s Brahms symphonies. You may find them unusual if you’re not familiar with Bernstein’s work, but they’re by far the most honest and introspective ones I could find on the web right now.
The poor video quality has already been commented on, but worst of all is the sound balance. True this is a piano concerto but even those demand a better balance with strings than this. However, this was ten years ago.
Who says he is bored? Maybe he s just having a realy Bad day with some shit news.? I m musician and if i have a Concert and a Bad day at the same time i see myself mooving like him.. i dont say thats the truth but please think about it. And think about that you kind of judged him as "bored" just because of not writing "...maybe bored" i think this stuff is important in our Time.
@@GreumMor He can sit how ever he wants, no? I think that he's at least 6" taller than the violinists and is performing admirably while having a desperate wish for a taller chair crowding up in the back of his mind. (FWIW, I've performed music in places where the chairs they give the orchestra are way too low and would have been darned uncomfortable even if they were tall enough. :-) )
Wonderful performance. This piece always perplexes me though. The 2nd violin part is almost redundant and is absent from major sections of it. Like the climax of the slow movement. WTF Brahms?
I love this Brahms.
@@NicolasPichay yes, me too. It’s a tapestry of his life, with great rage.

What a cornucopia of emotions played with both ardor and gentleness! Thank you for a memorable experience, especially the Scherzo.
This glorious quintet was played with distinction throughout here., Thankyou for the performance and also the download
Sublime! Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏👏
An amazing piece beautifully played - thank you.
Amazing performance, thanks!
Such a fluent and lyrical interpretation!
Such a good job on Brahms' sense of despair... Kudos: Ebene Quantum Quator!

Wow! Quelle énergie! Merci beaucoup!
In my humble opinion, beautifully played and well recorded.
Me ha gustado mucho... Gracias, saludos...
Bravo boys, swept me away
Excellent. Thank you.
This is a great performance. I enjoyed the violence of it.
@@M_SC Absolutely! Tremendous rage, bitterness, isolation. The piece frames my life.
Splendid.
Fantastic.
Nicely played.Well done. I think the viola player could easily play this piece without the dots to remind him.
Does anyone know why Brahms’s music is so sad and heartbreaking ? I’m thinking of the last movement of his 4th and final symphony as well.
Sensitive soul.
@ Thank you. Do you reside in Europe? Wondering what orchestras in Germany perform Brahms music at the highest level.

Mr. Viola is not happy! Not at all! Ouch!
Maybe if he'd cut his hair it wouldn't be in the way all the time. I don't get that at all.
Bravo
Superbo
Uma execução bravíssima!

Laughing because of Mr. Viola...he´s bored to death and I´m laughing to death. But he is good.
he is also demonstrating an extreme case of "man spread" - wouldn't like to be sitting next to him on the underground!

Bravo!
You guys are the best string quartet but I'm sorry, in this performance the piano is too loud.
I usually find the piano too soft. Finally here I can hear it well

why is the classical music world so stuffy - no thank yous or verbal communication with the audience. I'd feel a bit cheated.
Fugetaboutit !
Omg at classical concerts they usually won’t shut up! Have you ever been?
Interpretation quelconque
Beaucoup trop vive. Allegro ma non troppo
Trop rapide
Ça va ! On vous a assez entendu !
Beaucoup trop lourd . Brahms doit etre compris et interprete tres legerement.
What a mess! This is awful! Total waste of time since the beginning. Shame on you!
