Hi. The big idea design utility knife has quick blade change. You don’t need to remove the plate. The tab that’s at the top where the blade is, you push it to the right slightly and the blade comes out to replace. It’s the same mechanism as with their original TPT slide. Hope that helps.
I have tried many utilty knives, being the milwaukee fastback as my fave but when I tried the ugly looking Stanley classic that changes my view. It is the most stable, confortable to handle and its weight and size just feels right. I have the Stanley twin blade but the classic is the best if you just need a utility knife and don't care about aesthetic.
I'm surprised there is no Exceed Designs TiRant Razor on your list! I've been carrying mine for a few months and it's completely replaced my other knives for the work I do with it.
I've had a Gerber Prybrid for a few years now and it's a great EDC. The only things I've run into are that the blade can come loose with enough resistance, and the lack of clip can be an inconvenience at times, but it's a solid tool with some great additional features.
I have worn out a few Stanley 99 slide openers. I'd consider that its only flaw. Same thing happens with the hardware store house brands. I switched to the Milwaukee Fastback after a while.
I have the TPT slide and I'd love to get rid of mine, I'd gladly trade it for a TPT, the slide deploy makes blade swapping GARBAGE, of course it didn't help that immediately after the slide getting to me the magnet inside the show scale fell out and wouldn't let the razor retract all the way in until I disassembled the piece and figured out the issue. Still hate it, blade swaps still AWFUL, I'd so gladly take a TPT and dump this turd lol
The TiRant RAZOR V3 Utility Knife looks good. At the price though I really don't need another variant. Although I have one from CountyComm that I like, the one that gets the most pocket time with me is the Olight Otacle U1 Carbon Fiber Small Folding Tool for $25 and 2.2oz with bar or rail lock.
I just use a retractable utility knife from muji for my daily cutting tasks. It’s a lot smaller than most utility knives, swappable blade and a lot cheaper than most edc utility blades and as useful.
@dean7730 You can't call it a list of "the best" if you limit the price. Maybe change the title to the best budget edc utility knives and make a new video with the actual premium, "the best" utility knives on the market. Also, you can't call 100$ too expensive, when you have a 175$ knife on the list.
Surprised not to see the outdoor edge slidewinder on here. It’s about $12, small, light, easy to change, and has a pry bar/flathead and Phillips driver. It’s one of my favorite tools.
This list is so heavily skewed towards Stanley and other bulky offerings. It's absolutely garbage without the inclusion of the OG the Rexford RUT, the amazing TiRant Razor and Razor-M, the well designed Big Idea Design TPT or TPT Slide, the sleeper pick Turnback Knife TBK, or even the Milwaukee 6-in-1 Fastback with 1/4" driver. Other notable ones that i don't personally own, but are nonetheless intriguing would be the Tactical Keychain TUK, Gil-Tek RUK, MilSpin Magnus, and some of the Chinese designs like the Rovyvon, Olight, and Tenchilon offerings.
I have a Stanley here in front of me. It's all rusted out on the inside meanwhile the utility knife itself was just sitting in a toolbox for 20 years, lost. Untouched. It's completely original and yet it's completely rusted out, doesn't work, blades are rusted and the slider is rusted, can't even get it to slide when it's taken apart.
It's honestly expensive and unnecessary but I'm picking up an aerocrafted sideslip. The simple and minimal design does it for me. It's almost overdesigned how simply designed it is.
I read a lot of reviews on Amazon that the slide mechanism dulls the blade every time you open/close. Can you confirm or deny that this is a real issue?
The James Brand The Palmer $59 , basically $60. Looks very nice and premium. But for that high price, at least make it 5-10 multi functional with other tools & uses built in. Absurdly overpriced!! Wish it did more.
Do not and I repeat do NOT buy that toughbuilt blade, it’s the worst utility knife I’ve ever tried it will 100% break the moment you get a bit of work dust on it

yikes, thats a big look over by the reviewer!
Turns out same for Bob the Boxcutter: ruclips.net/video/wAvqJNKfrg0/видео.html
@@benmorrison8533 So they just did like, no research?
Glad to see this before wasting my time paying attention to his opinions.

I have a Stanley outdoorsman utility knife it has a Razor and a folding 3 inch blade. It is my favorite knife of all time.
I'm surprised there is no Exceed Designs TiRant Razor on your list! I've been carrying mine for a few months and it's completely replaced my other knives for the work I do with it.
Same! By far the most used knife I've owned by a mile.

I guess the Milwaukee fastback doesn’t exist anymore
Well I’m looking here because I’d like to get something other than the fastback so I actually appreciate that it’s not on the list lol
@@ItsMyReefsame here buddy I’m trying to find something slimmer or more pocketable
Clearly sponsored by Stanley
Otacle u1 from Oknife takes the cake for me! Incredibly built and great price
I have worn out a few Stanley 99 slide openers. I'd consider that its only flaw. Same thing happens with the hardware store house brands. I switched to the Milwaukee Fastback after a while.
i sold my bigidesign TUK, now i own and keep two units of the Tirant Razor V3. so much better and more likable 😊

I’m getting the Palmer. Hopefully it works out. I cut boxes every day for my job. I like the different color options 😊
It's almost criminal that the exceed designs razor tyrant isn't on this list. Great price on it too.
Great video! I’ve got a video scripted waiting to film my top 5 utility knives and a couple of these are on my list!
Kobalt from Lowe’s has a gravity opening and closing box cutter. I’ve been using it for 10 years.
dude your intro looked so nice it reminded me i wanted to learn UI design
You missed one of the best utility knives ever the Milwaukee, a must on any toolbox or EDC
Yes, I was hoping someone would mention the Milwaukee fastback. There's a few variations but they are all great
Man you are crushing this. Love the channel!
I've never used it but I don't think i like the James release mechanism. Seems like something could go wrong pretty easily
i dont know if its been said but, the gerber prybrid now has a pocket clip and is top tier imo
Bro…. The Ti Big idea has a blade quick release lol damn…. that irritated me so much seeing you take it apart to change the blade
I just use a retractable utility knife from muji for my daily cutting tasks. It’s a lot smaller than most utility knives, swappable blade and a lot cheaper than most edc utility blades and as useful.
I recommends the Stanley 1099 made in USA
Damn no exceed design Tyrant utility knife?
Is there anything stopping the sideslip from deploying your pocket, if you accidentally push the slider while trying to draw it?
I had a Siga utility knife with an extendable blade. Turns out you can’t get them shipped to America so I was one and done after leaving my last job.
You can't do a edc utility knife video without the Exceed designs tirant razor v3 and their maglock. They are way better than all of these!
Amen to that, Amen 👏
He also can't begin to call this list premium or hiconsumption worthy without the crazy expensive Rexford RUT.
But they cost like 100$ 😬

I had that, but it broke on me after extended use
A truly Quality Heirloom

Christy Knife Company

Maker Knife from Giaco 👌
I had a gerber didn't last a month
Giltek ruk should be on here

No Milwaukee 6 in 1? For the price you cant beat the functionality
Milwaukee fast back every day
The two Stanleys and the Toughbuilt are full-size utility knives, not EDC unless you have to wear a tool belt six days a week.
OLfa is the inventor of these, they make THE best and the best blades (Speed blades full black color both on the edge and on the blade)
No way you included that scraper monstrosity in an EDC video
oknife utacle u1?
Ti utility knife is nice, but $175 bucks, not tonight irene!
Stanley 99E is made of Zamac (die-cast zinc), not stainless steel.
I have a Stanley here in front of me. It's all rusted out on the inside meanwhile the utility knife itself was just sitting in a toolbox for 20 years, lost. Untouched. @@moloono1 I didn't buy one in the end. I came to distrust its construction.
The blade rotating one is junk. Its way too bulky for doing a good scraping job the minimum angle being way too high, thus damaging the surfaces
Can't believe you mised how to change the blade on the Big Idea knife, that is embarrassing at least..
The James Brand The Palmer $59 , basically $60. Looks very nice and premium. But for that high price, at least make it 5-10 multi functional with other tools & uses built in. Absurdly overpriced!! Wish it did more.

i mean utility knives do have a significant connection to aircraft, just not a good one.
The only two knives you need. The fastback and the fastback with the screwdriver. All these fancy looking knives are a scam.
Weird canned voice is well creepy 😮

weights in grams please…
