At Jonesborough, the 'Carolina Coastal Railway' was good to see and read-up about, especially with their GP15s. Same for NPBL at Roanoke - another Railroad to look-up. Some good Freight Roster catches including one of my Accurail FMC Hoppers at Roanoke. Elkhart @10:30 - love the sounds from those two EMDs.

That Revy bear must have been the one that got hit by a car last year. He was definitely looking both ways as he was crossing the street. Normally our bears would be fast asleep already but so far winter has taken a rain check.🇨🇦

To quote the Extra 2200 South,magazine,Penn Central was a 13D paint scheme,with no imagination! Still looks bad,even now! Oh,yes,the PC logo,had the nickname of mating 🪱worms!! Thankfully,the PC died quickly,but they did one thing,they got the Feds to acknowledge the neglect of the railroads! Silver lining in an otherwise miserable tale! Thank you 😇 😊!!!

Always good to see Revy Bear, and we won't get to do it too much longer till spring. Loved the deer, the steam engine, and oh man, that bridge in Burlington--it was gorgeous. Fort Madison is always fun too. But I'll bet the drivers stuck at the crossing in LaGrange wish *they* could push a button like you do and make the trains go 5 times as fast lol! Another great one!!
How people keep on mistaking train tracks for a road,I have no clue. Never have I ever thought of going on them while going across a crossing.
At least some of those wrong turns likely involve alcohol.🙄

Well, if this is the same bear I saw get hit by a car some months ago, the car didn’t fair so well due to the bear’s size.

I swear with all the cars and trucks trying to drive down the tracks there must be an app telling drivers: "In 50 feet turn onto railroad tracks, get stuck, damage your vehicle and pay a huge towing fee". Duh, o.k. Alexa!
It never creases to amaze me how often cars drive onto the tracks in Ashland. What are people looking at or thinking to do that? I just can't imagine doing that.
Some have said that Google Maps gives instructions to turn there.
Some of these trains are shiny & beautiful, others need a train wash🤭and I wish the taggers would stop destroying the trains with their graffiti..Tag your Momma and Daddy's house💯

Pacific Lumber Company Locomotive No. 37, once in service Wilmington & Western, had been sent to to SRC for restoration by Timber Heritage Association, which decided to abandon that project, sell 37, focus on a different loco

Wasn't their a show called Malcolm in the Middle, Maybe that's his name, You really can't get much closer to the middle than that but a Train i am certain would help this person get off the tracks no problem, The vehicle will probably be a fair bit shorter though.

When are they going to put barrier gates across the tracks to prevent cars from turning onto the tracks? It is such an easy fix.
Whether that would be a workable idea or not since that would block the tracks most of the time when the trains have the right of way would be an extra complication that might not be advisable.
The main concern would be where would the funding come from to pay for what would be doubling+ the cost of gate protection at all grade crossings. You might want to check up on the cost of a single crossing gate installation and also, just as important, it's average maintenance cost each year. That makes it NOT so easy a fix.
No trouble at all. Just like the train triggers the current gates, the train would trigger the new ones to raise for the train to go by. Same technology.@@kennethhanks6712

Funny how the bear takes the same path across the street and behind the same house. Must be a food source back there. I would be the poor soul that goes out to empty the trash just as he makes his visit and I would rapidly hope I could float to get away from him. Very predictable path for him.

Maybe the city needs to put a ramp at the intersections in Ashland so cars that do get stuck between the track can back out without going over the drop off. I can;t understand why people continue to pull on the tracks there
