Song: “Harvest Month” by River Run Dry
Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!
9:25 i was there, parked right out of frame when it happened. ran to the gates and called the emergency number, really glad I had that knowledge in the moment!
Good for you! It's excellent that you knew what to do and did it--thank you for helping.
The closing video of the train crossing the fog-covered river was surreal. It looked like the train tracks were floating on a cloud! Great work to capture this masterpiece! Thank you!
I was going to say the exact same thing, 😎
7:50 Brave squirrel; patient eagle. 👍
2:30 The train coming out of and disappearing into the fog is really cool.
LOVE the train on the bridge in the fog at the end of the grab bag! What a great scene. Merry Christmas Virtual Railfan!
Yesterday looking at the Burlington cam I saw the Amtrak train crossing the fog covered Mississippi. One of the greatest things I have ever seen on Virtual Railfan. Truly magical. Thanks for showing it and putting music behind it!
The last take of the bridge above the mist is pure poetry.
Yes, loved the melody with it also.
Gotta love a Great Grab Bag.
I believe that this is regarding the vehicle on the tracks at Chehalis:
A woman was arrested in the 500 block of West Main Street at 11:10 p.m. on Dec. 20 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence after her car was hit by a train. She and the vehicle’s passenger reportedly got out of the vehicle at some point, leaving the vehicle on the train tracks, but the driver told dispatch “she doesn’t know if she was in the car or not when she got hit by the train.” Possible minor injuries were reported. BNSF reported the collision just after 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 20 and stopped all trains until the tracks were cleared. The tracks were reopened just before 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 21
No wonder it took them so long to get going again. Thanks for the info--what a mess.
Nice touch at the end. ❤
VRF Merry Christmas to Staff and crew for the excellent time and efforts you provide to the Railfans the enjoyment of the great videos (Grab Bags) that we all enjoy seeing. Thanks again for the great job.
I'm sure CSX & Amtrak would love to have a word with the pickup truck driver that knocked down the crossing gate. The Darwin in Fairport was lucky to get that car pulled out of the tracks before a train came along. The same can't be said for the other Darwin in Chehalis, regardless of the outcome. Either way, I hope we railfans got a good example of what these railroad companies mean when they cite "vehicle incident" as a reason for a train's major delay.
That bridge shot is stunning.
Just love those Amtrak engines, setting new records,as 45,and 78 RPM! Bit old fashioned, but there are available puns! Way to go,Amtrak Los Angeles!! Thank you 😇 😊!
Dear Drivers, If you see a dark gravel road with two shiny parallel streaks running perpendicular to the paved road you're on, it might be railaroad tracks.
That second one acted like they missed the parking space at a mall and that the vehicle coming at them was a van. Sad.
Or just don't drink and drive.
Gee, d'ya think???
“Here’s your sign,” as Jeff Foxworthy would say.
I believe a Kentucky or Tennessee beverage could have been involved but 😏
awesome grab bag
I can't believe that the person got back into the car right in front of that train. That pick up knocking down the grade crossing signal. Last on the video, a truck trailer knocking lights off the crossing arms or gates. What a crazy world we live in.
Not a crazy world, a crazy country....shouldn't lump other countries in with U.S.
Blows my mind how drivers are so careless at crossings. hope your Christmas was great.
Nice to see those EMDs with fresh paint,
Thank you Virtual Railfan, my 2 year Anniversary is today, on Christmas Eve. So I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and thank you for all you all do across America, God Bless you for having moral and values so children can watch trains. A great Big THANK YOU.
Had to rewind tom see if Eagle got the squirrel. First look I thought he was dinner. Keep the great camera work.
The girl that got back in the car qualified as a Darwin Award candidate!
I'm sure her eyeballs dilated.
@@bengone3349 And I'll bet she had to change her underwear too! Toot, Toot!!
She acted like she’d missed a parking space at the mall. She acted like the train was trying to steal her parking spot.
Actually that was the smartest thing she could have done, her and the door was taking all the room that the locomotive needed to squeeze past her car, getting out on the passenger side would have been a much better choice under the circumstances.
*Nice Catches*
Wow! Great catching all the trains, especially the military trains, train meets in Altoona, Pennsylvania, 2 cars stuck on train tracks, one crossing gate knocked down, and more, @Virtual Railfan, thank you and merry Christmas and happy new year.
I just wanted to say Have a very 🎄Merry Christmas🎄 to all of the
Train fans here at the Virtual Railfan Grab Bag and Thank You.🎀🎀

Already. Know it's gonna be a good one!
Love the first BNSF engines 277, 264, 268 tried to look the number up on line got they are SD75M's. Love the drop down front windows.
Those BNSF EMD units at Chehalis were a nice way to start, also the 3-way at the Horseshoe Curve. Good to see the Steam-hauled Freight at Paradise again and the view across the Waycross Diamond - it makes a perfect Back-drop for a Model R/R.
Amen brother those classic EMDs are the best looking engines.
Thank you Joe and team for the wonderful Grab Bags throughout the year. Glad the situation at CHE resolved.
The car in Chehalis got at least clipped by the train. The car was just close enough to where the overhang of the train would have made a slight impact with the car.
Merry Christmas
Awesome Video!

They sure made the crossing signals at Ashland a lot fancier, huh.
That was a whole lot of craziness, all the same day?
20:19 I hope they don't re-paint CSX 4419 anytime soon, great to see that livery.
That actually looks like a fresh coat of paint. That's a very clean YN2 scheme appearance.
@@bowlinerailfan it was repainted/touched up by the same group of railfans that did the Chessie and RF&P nosed units in Cedartown, GA.
@@tomahawktrainz1877 Oh, that is good! I'm not 100 percent sure of what CSX thinks of the other two locos, but surely they wouldn't mind one of their locos being cleaned up and looking brand new again. That certainly doesn't qualify as vandalism. It appears like it was heading for Waycross so I hope I see it along the bowline soon.
Poor squirrel. I almost thought he got away. However, the Bald Eagle needed a quick and easy lunch.
He did get away. Look closely. He darts down the branch.
19:00 Lookin at you, sir! Best camera wave ever!
19:37 I'm surprised that crossing gate didn't get knocked off by that trucker.
10:42 I guess driver was safer in his car , but I started laughing when he/she started bouncing when they started to move the car.
“Severely” disappointed at the lack of “boing boing” when the first car went cray 😛 onto the train tracks 😂!!
Looks like there's a lot of impaired driving going on right now. Be careful on the roads over the Holiday Season, folks.
And that's why we use safety chains!
I'm still hoping to see a Penn Central boxcar!!
@26:30 Sweet❤
24:40 Texas, Oklahoma and Eastern. I'd been wondering what railroad that paint scheme was for. I've seen them from time to time on the CSX bowline. But what does the PN in the blue square stand for?
11:53 aint no way she got out of the car and got back in like it was no big deal
She parked, got out, then got back in her car...
18:28 perfect opportunity for a tagger to write julia and maybe something like "you cant spare a square?" 😂 seinfeld fans will get it
Horseshoe Curve needs four tracks again
hello virtual railfan it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Austelle GA has the same pickup parked in the same spot for multiple videos
Man.. this is not Ashland's year for their signals...
To much to drink at Christmas parties, later no brains 🧠 😅
Did RUclips tell you to stop using the "Doing" sound, if so that's sad.
I agree!!!
lol, we give it a rest occasionally, it will be back.
Who is in that research car? How do you get that job?
You got to watch those crossing bucks they like to jump in front of you this time of year
9:38 not again
17:35 I hate when posts like that just jump out in front of me!
18:46 BC Rail BCOL
Anyone driving on the tracks should immediately be given a sobriety test !
Anyone know what crossing is that in Burlington, IA around the 22:00 mark? I'm trying to look it up on Google Streetview.
That is Valley Street
SMH...That second one gets out of her car, not to run, but to look at the oncoming train like he should go around.
The only shocker was that neither of the cars on tracks were in Lagrange or Ashland, though the pickup driver at Ashland was “special”. Gevält!
17:34 17:35 Whoops
The 3 bnsf I saw With boxcars
I am a bit unsettled by the man at 2:25. Why is he there, what is he doing? It seems out of place
He was a roofing comtractor taking pics of the shingles for a bid quote. I agree though...looked weird.
Just needs a truck with a hiab and grab. Extend out, lower, grab the vehicle putting the grab through windscreen, rear window and side windows, lift, recycle.
No fostoria or deshler? :(
Wow now you see him now you don't
Not so sure about the tow truck operator either. just saying.
Like any industry, there are some who are experts in their trade, and then there are those who probably need to switch careers
did any one figure out what that box looking thing was on the dirt road along the side of the tracks in the last part of this video with the amtrak train passing it ?.
Well they need Flange oilers at horse shoe curve I wish you could let them know
There are greases for all 3 tracks on both approaches to the curve.
At grade crossings were a mistake
Spot more rare railcars
Voleva testare i nuovi pneumatici appena aquistati
Could anyone see the road number of the 2nd RJ Corman unit in Austell?
Fact: people on Ludes shouldn't drive.
Maybe they need to put up a sign that says no turns till you cross the tracks. NOT!!!!
Here’s to the brain dead track drivers, your drivers license needs to be immediately revoked and to get it back you need to take 1 year of drivers education 😂
These need more meat and less broth and potatoes
When will poeple learns to stop at the gates
WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THAT CANT THEY KNOW TO DRIVe???
Yet America lets people like the lady in Chehalis vote.
And they vote for D. T. for president
Lol lots of dumb drivers in this vid that oickup truck that crash and knock down the gate crossing lights
Meet in the fog with Military and IM, Darwins 😮, Meet at Altoona, Ashland, more Darwins 😮, wide load in Spartanburg, side panel car, welded rail train,Amtrak on trestle in Burlington, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!🎄🍻🛤🚂👍
