Thank you for watching my content! Please let me know in a comment if there’s a game/system you want to see in an upcoming in-depth video of the Pimax Portal! 😊
I basically just want to see high end emulation capabilities. (Upscaling etc)
Happy about the lack of bloatware!
Thanks for showing gaming without tweaking! It definitely helps to give a more accurate representation of "out of the box" performance
Notes: There are less expensive versions of the Portal (selling for $350ish on Amazon) with an IPS display not 4k QLED. Word on the Pimax subreddit is that only t he 4k QLED will work as a VR display connected to a PC for PC-VR gaming. Also, as of October 2023, the headset has been delayed and apparently is being redesigned as there were usability problems with the version shared early with some reviewers (or at least featured in the Pimax advertising for the Portal). Headset was supposed to be released in Q3 2023, but here we are going into Q4 and there's no updates on a release date.
Great vid ❤ Would love to see an in depth gaming performance review, specifically switch emulation with yuzu
Steam deck: dude I’m so good at performance in gaming no one can beat me. Pimax portal: are you trying to challenge me?
Id like to see you test Vita3K, Yuzu and Skyline. Also like to know how long the battery lasts and if it gets hot. How long does it take to charge? Plz also do some size comparisons
Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll see what I can do :)
Second this
Seconded! And video out, like to know how high of a resolution it can go on the TV while plugged in, with oc, without etc. I am excited for this handheld, but since I have an Odin, I'm willing to wait to upgrade, but love all these new handhelds!
ondering if its possible to side load my quest games on this would consider if it was doable
Dolphin's widescreen hack isn't very good. It's more work, but if you search up a game in the dolphin wiki, you'll be able to find widescreen gecko codes. If those don't exist, i've seen texture packs that are designed with widescreen in mind.
Can u connect other controllers to it?
do a video on an item that's worth it! $369 for emulation! something better will come out next week. thanks for the video, though.
is it compatible with 8 bitdo controllers?
How did you get it early?
Do you think its worth? Im only going to usefor emulation of everything up tp ps2 and gc
I'll get back to that in my in-depth review, but it definitely surprised me in terms of out of box performance.
can you play 2 player games with this pimaxcons? like emulator games sharing one controller with someone to play together? playing godzilla destroy all monsters together?
I've used them for 2 player mode in Martio Kart Double Dash (Gamecube)
ok so destroy all monsters should work too because google says there is also a gamecube version, hopefully there are enough buttons on this two controller halfs @@Techcravers
I heard that we will be able to order it for those who havent pre-ordered it already within 24hrs of today. But im not to sure if that is the right info. i did hear it from themselves
It's up for purchasing now
Yup :)
Looks interesting 🤔
Android's version of Nintendo Switch?
Basically yeah :) I’ll see about the performance in the more in-depth video.
android 10 in 2023....
Funny how, the oled has the same size screen as the normal one, if only they removed those big bezels.
I like to
This is basically the Nintendo switch but with a 0.7 inch smaller screen with higher resolution with an option to be Qled, camera/cameras for VR, controllers that use magnets instead of rails, Android, and a better processor.
Change the D-pad design and loose the cameras and I will get on.
Price???
Watch the video genius
this one should be $500+ as it will be working with VR later. the basic one is 300 something
D pad makes it unusable for retro games
Maybe not unusable, but I agree that it's bad.
What about of backlash of these “joy-cons”.? I don’t trust in magnets!
I'll get back to them in my in-depth review :) but all I can say is that they are much more stable than I thought. Feels like part of the device when they are on.
I feel like the market passed this one buy and now it's looking small and outdated.
