Celebrity Cruise line is incredible.
The food service and entertainment is heads and shoulders above the rest.
Now, this is a buffet, for the size of the ship the Mardi Gras is, they had a pitiful buffet, Celebrity has an incredible buffet and the MDR excellent, we booked another one while on board the Reflection.
That buffet felt like part of the gym… it was huge and took forever to walk around, ha ha!! :P
Love the sliding doors on semi-older Celebrity ships. Especially at night the waves are so soothing!
24:09 Beautiful ship and launched in 2001 makes it very impressive. Have never sailed Celebrity but from your videos it seems fantastic. Even their older ships.
Our first cruise was on the Summit many years ago so like seeing the refurbishments. We love Celebrity and doing a B2B on the Silhouette in Europe in May/22. The bathroom on the solstice class ships is much larger. Celebrity is definitely a premium line with great food and excellent service.
Great food selections in the buffet.
I agree with Dee on the any time dining thing. 😋😋😋
That’s a Great idea having a food map in the buffet… I’m impressed so far !!!! Like the look of all the toiletries in the bath room too … nice touches make a difference
I agree with Dee…I book anytime timing so I can go anytime! We don’t ever make reservations and so far have not had a problem with Princess or Celebrity to dine when we want. Maybe the first day is extra busy? I guess we will see how it goes as you progress on your cruise!
We just spent two amazing weeks on the Celebrity Edge. I had several people mention how wonderful the Summit is. So glad to be able to watch your Summit series!
Oh! How i love Celebrity. The Summit is their smaller ship but still great. Their buffet area is very good. I love the refurbishments on your video. Dee you are so right... it seems that we have to book everything at a preferred time..anytime dining no longer exists.
Love the Summit! Sailed it 3 times. Glad you enjoyed the main stage entertainment! Family was in the show. The videos are all great! Will keep them as memoirs. ❤️
Glad to see the Summit!!! Hoping to sail with Celebrity one day
A SERVED buffet! Well done, Celebrity! 👏👏👏 You remain my favorite line! They have excellent food, customer service and shows!
I went to Alaska on the Millennium with Celebrity back in 2019. This is bringing back major vibes since it’s in the same class. Hope you had a great experience as I did.
Sailed on the Summit several times and loved it. That dead end on the jogging track led to the Aqua Class cabins. Food seems just as good as I remember it. I was a regular at the Indian food station. Thanks for sharing.😎
OMG guys…i am salivating over that buffet, especially Jay with your commentary. Just 4 more days and i will be at my buffet on the Sky
The thallasotherapy/solarium pool is my fave spot on this class of celebrity ship. Salt water, waves, and you don’t even need sunscreen! I was on the Millenium in June 2021 and we will be on the Summit this June
Thank you for the tour! Merry Christmas!
Great cabin tour and totally agree with your "anytime dining" topic.
Hey Dee & Jay! Welcome back to that cruise life! Celebrity Sunmit series aye? Ok then! Let's do this thang! Can't wait to see more! Dee that is super cool for your to cruise & work at the same time! All that good you guys showed in the buffet looks super yummy! & is anyone onboard? Looks like a ghost town even after lunch! Lol
I’m on the Summit in June. I was on the Millennium after we did the AOTS June 2021. Sister ships. I can’t wait to get back into that solarium thalassotherapy pool again! My fave!
We always choose select dining. We also like to eat as early as possible. We do pre-set the time on the computer Before sailing…But the first night we always get there usually around 5:30 PM so we can tell the hostess we like to eat early every night and we also then can choose our table and most times it's given to us each night. We just got off the silhouette… Thanksgiving cruise… The dining room was so very empty… We like to sit at the railing so we can look below and we were shocked to see so many available tables in the preset dining times… We only had 1050 passengers on that sailing. Have a great time🚢
I totally agree Dee. Anytime dining is when you get hungry. Not reserved.
Oh Jay you are truly a card! In Indian Nirvana and then around the world...LOL I had to laugh so hard!!!!! What a gourmand you are!
Like you guys, we’ve sailed on Carnival more than any other line. We also live in North Carolina. Took our 1st Celebrity cruise November 8, 10 days on the Constellation. We loved it.
I always look for hotels with breakfast and transportation options. Understand your reluctance for deviating from that.
Anytime dining with reservations works out well when you are on a full-day shore excursion and they are leaving port at your early dining time. No way to get back to the ship, get on, get cleaned up, and to dinner in 5 minutes, or even be late. It also works well when they are in port overnight and you know what your plans are. I am usually able to make a reservation earlier in the day for the selected time I want. I also have winged it and ended up waiting 30min. It is the chance you take with the anytime dining.
I. adore. Celebrity (X), they're my favorite line as well as the Millennium Class ships. First sailed on the Summit in 2004. Sailing X was so refreshing after the Vegas style designs & crowds of CCL. It is nice to see Summit's newest refit. My favorite spot is under the goose neck spouts in the Thalassotherapy pool, the water pressure provides a fantastic massage. While lovely, I still prefer Millie class over the Solstice class, have yet to try the Edge Class. You used to be able to walk around the forward deck but with the refit, they added cabins & the retreat.
It's great to see your first experience/responses, will be watching the other video's. I've had 3 sailings (2 Celebrity & 1 CCL) that we've been pushing out due to job loss and the pandemic. I'm living vicariously through these videos, thank you both so much!!
PS: I've sailed Aqua class once (upgrade fairy) & really enjoyed eating in Blu. Hope you get try it too.
I agree about the any time dining. My recent cruise on rcl I had to make reservations even though I had any time dining & I found out the hard way that if I didnt make my reservations for the week on day one, I would have no options. I prefer being able to eat dinner when it works for that day.
The bathroom looks similar to the size as the Mardi Gras. I'm with Dee on the Anytime dining.
I think they shrunk everything cabin-wise on Mardi Gras, hah… gotta fit more folks in somehow!! :P
Ice cream at the end of the jogging track! 🤣🤣🤣 yes maybe I would actually start running lol
How absolutely wonderful that you can take a "seminar at sea"!! Celebrity would be sooo amazing to check out someday - I have heard it's really elevated as far as quality of cruising. I'll be so interested to talk in person with you about your experiences! I remember that livestream with the squealing sounds - it was such a weird alarm, like no others I've heard. Just when I thought I was #bottom, Editing Jay pops out another vlog! Great job with all your vlogs and travels - I'm sure enjoying watching it ALL!!
All that food soo delicious. I want to try Celeberty also along with Holland, princess, royal and Norwegian. So many good experiences I want to do it all.. have fun you two. Look forward to the other videos.
There was some great food on Celebrity! Hope you have fun trying all the lines as well!! :D
Great video! This is my size of ship..., might have to try the Summit...
We're doing our first Celebrity cruise in March, so i wanted to see your take on their offerings, particularly the food. I will have to mentally prepare myself for my husband discovering the unlimited ice cream in the buffet. :)
All of the food looks so good.
I TOTALLY agree with Dee about "anytime" dining!
Our last three cruises with Celebrity we chose anytime dining. We never made a reservation, arrived various times between 6:30 and 8:30 and were always, save 1 time, seated at a table for 2 almost immediately. The one time there were about 8-10 people in front of us (so maybe a 10-15 minute wait), but the hostess asked if we wanted to join a group at a large table, which we did and was seated immediately, BTW, this was Thanksgiving evening 2023 on Beyond.
On Celebritie's anytime dining I've never made reservations. Of of course we tend to eat a little later in the evening, but are typically seated prominently. Also their Casear salad station in the buffet is my favorite station in any buffet.
Thanks for this one! What a pretty ship! I'd like to try Celebrity some time.
We really enjoyed the size and decor of this ship. We’ll have to check out the bigger Celebrity ships too, but we seem to find that we like midsize ships, hah!!
Once again congratulations
I agree with Dee, anytime means show up any time like originally on Princess, but times have changed
We usually cruise Celebrity and we love it.
We really enjoyed our first foray into the Celebrity life!! :D
My husband and I are considering the Summit for our next sail so I did a search to see if you guys have cruised that ship. I'm watching this video and laughed when I got to the fire burning on the causeway as you sailed away because it looked like an exact spot we had seen a fire when we sailed. I had to look it up, we sailed on the Carnival Horizon out of Miami this exact day you were sailing on the Summit - so the reason it looked so familiar...it was the same day! Funny!! :) -Melissa
Hi there! Have a great time and we will be watching every day!
Thankee thankee!! :D
Thank you for this virtual Celebrity experience. I’m sailing with them twice next year, I’m absorbing all the info I can. 🙂
We really enjoyed Celebrity and we’re excited to sail them again in the future! Hope you have a blast!! :D
Celebrity is awesome ... the Edge Class ships are very different than the ship on this video.
@@shade0762 Thank you for your comment. I’ll be on the Apex late February, to the Caribbean, and Eclipse in Alaska. I am so looking forward to these cruises.
@@lindawendt5372 Apex is a lot newer (and nicer) Summit is a cool ship. Whenever we go on Celebrity we do Aqua Class ... it is totally worth it for have Blu restaurant choice and unlimited Spa use.
I think you are required to eat ice cream for breakfast & lunch. 😆
At least that’s my rule.
Sounds like a solid rule to me!! :P ~Jay
On Royal you make a reservation if you know what time you want to eat that may not coincide with early or late seating. No need for a reservation if you don’t mind waiting for a table if busy.
True, they always have the “guests without reservations” line, at least on Royal, where you don’t need to make reservations. Just show up and wait, which is good!!
I'm fully vaccinated and I've had my booster shot but I would still wear my mask.
you two are fun i enjoyed your video best line was if you put ice cream at the end of this jogging track...
Reese’ Pieces?! I have found my people!!
Our first (and only so far) Celebrity cruise was on the Summit. We enjoyed it and look forward to trying Edge/Apex or Beyond soon.
We loved the size of Summit, though there were so few passengers onboard! Crazy!!
BOY I like you two and your banter... I have a feeling that you two are a bit goofy like this in real life... not just on Video.
If you bring a power adaptor you can use the European outlet.
That’s what I plan to do on the Millennium in June.
Somehow we never think of that!! :D
Super video, we are hoping to go on the Apex in March.
Woohoo, have an awesome time!! :D
When you guys got on I was getting off haha
Nope, anytime IS anytime on Royal/Celebrity. For your convenience you can make permanent reservations any time you want at the same table, OR you can just walk in at any time, this may take longer to get a table and you won't have the same wait staff.
Did you end up taking the grey bag? Our room attendant said it was complimentary to take home.
Ah, we didn’t! No one said anything, hah…
Washed your hands with pepper jack cheese! lol
I am with Dee- have a salad and then cheat on dessert.
Heck yeah!! :D
Wow, looks like you guys had the ship to yourselves!
About 460 onboard for our sailing!! :O
@@parodeejay holy moly! 😱
Last cruise 2018. See it has been upgraded. Enjoy all new views.
Looks like they’ve kept her in great shape!! :D
Agree about reservation s
The Celebrity Summit was sailing along with us on the Freeom of The Seas for part of our cruise. The buffet on the Summit looks awesome
Wow! The last vlog I see you were going home. How long did you stay home! Love watching your cruises though!
We went home for about five days for Thanksgiving, then back at the cruise life again!! :P
In October I tried to book our dining time(s). The only available time was 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 pm..
Thanks for the video - I do hope you take my feedback in the spirit it is intended - Cheers from Malaysia
Yes indeed, no worries! Hopefully you take my comments in jest as well, as we are obviously fond of humor on the channel. I normally always try to be considerate of the international audience, but sometimes tend to refer to things from an American perspective when not sure the proper terms... I'll usually call those outlets either "120v" or "US style", ha ha... thanks for watching!! :P ~Jay
I'm interested in this cruise. I have always heard Celebrity ws fancy, maybe you will have caviar
Yummy 🤤
You guys should try the celebrity Edge I loved it
We maaaaay have it booked for next year!! :P
Thurston Howell would cruise Cunard.
Dee always has the cutest bathing suits! Can I ask where she shops for them?
Thankee! She looks all over... Old Navy, Forever 21, Shein, and even lightly pre-loved from Poshmark and Vinted. Her high waisted bottoms are from our very own Amazon shop!! :D ~Jay
Jay, what kind of camera did you use to take your cabin video with? Love ❤️ your channel!
Same as always, our ol’ Canon G7X!! :D
@@parodeejay thank you so much
Sailing Celebrity for the first time on the 20th. We’re on the Apex and are really looking forward to the adventures!
Apex is more luxurious than summit. It's a beautiful ship that my wife and I loved. The infinite veranda was a bit of a mixed bag though.
Jay and Dee I am rewatching the video cause I don’t have a new one to see. I need a new video. Needing a Jay and Dee fix.
Tomorrow… tomorrow… you’re always a daaay awaaaaay!! :P
@@parodeejay 🤣
Im curious but were ya'll on the cruise when a huge group got kicked off the ship in Nassau? Lol
Would love to know what Miami hotels you recommend.
We’re still on the hunt for a solid pick!! :P
how was this ship
Dee, Do Celebrity do Solo cabins do you know please?
They're very limited, and only on the new or sometimes revamped ships. Apex has 24 solo cabins, Edge has 16, Silhouette has 4, and that's it for now across the Celebrity fleet!!
I’ve been really happy with royals my time dining. Hopefully you’re not locked into a certain time to avoid long waits.
Hey, where is Allure? I thought you were just embarking on her a couple days ago???? How'd you get on Summit?
Editing Jay is a little behind from the cruise they spent with friends. He had spoiled us with the nearly-real-time videos previously, but Editing Jay deserves a break. Their Summit cruise preceded Allure, I believe. Jay mentioned the Allure vlogs will likely come out in early January. I am sure he will surpass our expectations though - he always does!
We sailed Celebrity, then MSC, and are currently on Allure. We always release vlogs chronologically!! :P
It must not be deal breakers if you stayed there. LOL
The hotel? Eh, they advertised breakfast and parking, but we didn’t realize it was pay breakfast and parking only for the length of your stay, hah… we just didn’t ask enough questions!! :P
@@parodeejay what's the old saying? Live and learn. That's one of many many reasons we love your channel. We learn so much from your mistakes as well as your successes. I feel like we are family since we've been following you so long. Keep up the good work. P.S. waiting for your next parodee.
Guessing your travel agent rate didn’t include drinks like it does for guests?
No, the Seminar At Sea didn’t come with the all-inclusive bits and pieces that you normally get these days, hah! Our next Celebrity will though, since it’s a “normal” rate!! :P
Say Hi to Don and Elisha!
I think we missed them by one week!!
Do you guys just cruise all the time ?
These days, pretty much! We were able to cruise about half the year in 2022, thanks to folks like yourself enjoying our adventures!! :D
The ship has a capacity of 2100+ guests - it is not s small ship - when built in 2001 it would have been a large ship
That’s been about our favorite size, similar to our favorite Spirit-class ships with Carnival. Though massive for their day, compared to today’s behemoths 20 years later, they’ve at least been demoted to small-midsize I’d say. We loved it though! Juuuuust right!! :P
@@parodeejay And we like the ships that are 400-800 guests - we all like different things and these are what we think are small ships
Is it just me, or do those red and yellow “artsy “chairs look upside down? It looked like you would actually sit on what should be the back of the chair …
I hate buffets. Too much wandering around to find what you want to eat. Too many choices.
Give me a menu anytime😊
That buffet was gigantic!! :P
I don't think you wanna mention Thurston Howell just before boarding a ship.....
Should we not have booked that “three hour tour” excursion this time either?! :O
@@parodeejay 😅🤣😂
Does Celebrity not require masks in indoor public spaces like Carnival does ?
No, Norwegian and Celebrity are not currently requiring masks anywhere onboard.
Stupid question, why book a hotel without free parking and breakfast?
They advertised both breakfast and parking on their website. Turns out the breakfast was for a fee and the parking was only for the length of your stay. We just didn’t ask enough questions this time!! :P
Where are all the guest, oh ya, they are all napping cause they are all over 70. Nothing wrong with that, but I want to party on a ship and I’m 60+. And they are to expensive, maybe when I’m 80. Ha!
Hello, why are you filming with photo camera, not with IPhone or real video camera
The Canon G7X is primarily known as a video camera in the vlogging world. It treats us well!! :P
Talking about things that drive me nuts - they are not standard power points - they are US standard power points - please refer to things considering your international viewers
In future, please refrain from using phrases like "power points" which drive my sensitive American ears nuts! We prefer "power outlets"!! :P
LOL They are Americans, on a cruise out of Miami. I don't expect them to refer to cookies as "biscuits," because those are what we eat for breakfast with sausage gravy.
