That's what I call dedication; Cleo is considered one of the most important plugins for modding GTA SA; Might not have had any of those mods without it
I'm a member of GTAForums member since 2009-ish. I feel sooo happy seeing legendary names like LINK2012 & Silent have a successful career now. I love hanging out in GTASA Screenshot & Media thread. I also remember you, Marty Mcfly, methodunderg, and others haha... Good times.
I don’t know why, but I am just completely incapable of wrapping my head around how game/mod programming works to this degree. I can’t fathom how people understand this stuff, it may as well be magic to me. Everytime I try to learn anything about it, it just creates more and more questions exponentially and it’s so overwhelming
This is coming from a developer : remember a lot of these were created bit by bit, initially so much is rudimentary, and little by little more stuff is figured out. Looking at it now you’re seeing an entire building, but at one point the only thing they’d figured out was the foundation, then the flooring, then the walls etc
Once upon a time I couldn't replace the car model in GTA SA, but it's been a long time and now I have my own mod that transfers the entire GTA IV map to GTA SA.
This is so nice, seeing the OG Mod Creators still working on their project to this day! I still remember when Cleo 4 was a new thing, but now after not playing and modding the old 3D universe GTA's for a long time, I kinda wanna jump back to it. Great video as always man, you are making very high quality videos!
Woah, I remember when CLEO 4 came into existence, since everything was in CLEO 3, but to actually see CLEO 5 get made.. That is so cool :D I never knew of CLEO 1 and 2 o:
I can't wait for Cleo 5 future updates! I always hated game crashes, and it happens often when you install cleo scripts, but now the script will finally just stop working instead of just crashing the game, this is an amazing step forward
CLEO have shaped and helped the GTA modding community to grow and expand, without it we would definitely have it harder to make changes to the game, especially if we had multiple mods installed. It’s nice to see they’re finally releasing Version 5 of it and I hope it will work flawlessly. It’s insane that the community is the reason why GTA is still famous and loved but R* and Take 2 interactive, don’t see it and they keep releasing bad remakes and ports and sending private investigators on modders and suing people to take mods down. I can say if the mods wasn’t a big part of GTA I wouldn’t have bought the game in the first place.
I was so hyped to see a new modification base for GTA with the release of Definitive Edition, but it happened to be so bad that we still need to live with the limitations of RenderWare
Cleo 5 crashes at the moment hydraulics are used in any vehicle so I use the bundled 4.4 from the essentials pack. However it was faster at a few scripts for police when I caused aggro
GTA modding comunity is one of the biggest ,most ambitious and more capable comunities out there, yet rockstar choose to shit on them by making devs delete their mods before the release of the GTA trilogy,
Any companies that hate/dislike the modding community gets an automatic L for me. Modders are usually the ones who actually improving or fixing or adding new content to the base game.
As much as I appreciate and praise the work of the GTA modding community (of which you TJGM are apparently one of the most active), I have to say that in the vast majority of cases it's about San Andreas. I also notice this on GTAForums, at least with regard to certain mods such as Sky Gfx or P2DFX, two of the most important mods ever. GTA 3 and Vice City are somewhat neglected, at least when it comes to modding guides. F.i. it would be great to learn about the optimal settings in P2DFX for III + VC because there are still some uncertainties. This is NOT a complaint, it's just that in what feels like 90% of cases the subject is GTA SA, also more IV than III/VC. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for this video and happy that the old GTA classics are getting the love they deserve. Please keep up the great work, TJGM 👍🏽
@@Sum_Yousah The thing is all 3 games are very similar modding wise, but SA is the most complex. So it's easier to teach people SA, which is the most difficult to mod, and then they can go back to III/VC themselves with what they've learned in SA. Yes there's some differences, but most things should be quick enough to grasp once you understand modding SA. I still plan on making a guide for VC, but I'm not 100% sure when yet.
@@TJGMI see, thanks for the explanation. It would be wonderful if you'd do that guide if you have the time, of course. Take care of yourself and don't get burned-out. Peace!

As a simple modding enthusiast, who only quite recently started, is it worth upgrading to CLEO 5 yet? I am trying to make a lot of mods work on my game, but I've been running into crashes that CrashInfo or SCRLog seem to not know the cause of. I thought if I perhaps make a new build with CLEO 5 then maybe the new features help me diagnose the causes better. Or will I just run into more problems? (I'm running some pretty big mods along with a lot of smaller ones)
Ok so this might be off topic, but I have a question. So I installed the Peds Vary mod into my GTA SA through Mod Loader, and there is a skin file that changes the look of one of the NPCs. The DFF worked just fine, but why the TXD doesn't work? The skin just looks white, am I doing something wrong? What should I do? Thanks.
I just have a question. When I put the bullet hole mod at my game directory there will be an error when I open GTA, it says bullethole.asi requires dependencies that are missing in your system. Error 126. I am new to modding GTA SA by the way, I hope someone can help me. Thanks!
Hello TJGM, i have installed many mods without any hassle thanks to your modding guide. But there is one problem i am facing, i have a 1080p monitor but i play on 4k using AMD VSR, but whenever i restart the game the resolution resets to 1080p, is there any fix?
So, i found a way, i forced 4k resolution from widescreen fix ini. and now my game is running much better, it was running without fps drops even in 1080p, but i was experiencing stutters. maybe because my gpu and cpu is way more powerful than what is needed for San Andreas , and it was not being used properly. The game also looks much nicer in 4k, there are no jaggies and finally the road signs don't flicker.
Well, the oldest minecraft mod calling Journey Maps still being updated, its a over 13 year old mod at the time, so i dont see a suprise here that very old mods are still maintained.
