@Highway UnicornI second this! I take my goddaughter to our farm and they have insects and reptiles. She holds everything because I do. Her mum on the other hand freaks out and suddenly my god daughter is more nervous. She’s at the point now where she teaches her mum how to hold them as her confidence grew though 😂

@Highway Unicorn Yeah. If Ned was uncomfy, he can't really help that, but if Ariel was around it would have been better to ask her to show the kids. It's important to let your kids know you have feelings too, and that grown ups can be scared of stuff that isn't actually scary too.
I actually didn't read Wes' body language as scared though? I think he was more bored than anything. Normally when kids get scared they stand behind people, watch their parents, usually they'll make physical contact (like grabbing their parents arm or leg, or hugging them.) Wes was just standing a bit infront of his dad, looking at the cows, and fiddling.
I'm also glad he got to see them, and that no one forced him to touch the cows. People often forget about kids consent, which just turns everything into a bad or uncomfortable experience. It's better that his experience was probably nutural rather than negative.
Whenever Ariel is around animals, it really just confirms her Disney princess status.

Ned got "overheated" and went home and Alex seems to have left as well as she is not seen even in the background in the rest of the vid. and yea, this is what irritates me about Alex's behavior (aside from Ned himself obv being a scumbag) alex isnt off the hook in my book- she was obviously around Ariel and her CHILDREN and Ned and being around them as a family unit and then getting involved with a husband and father who you've spent time with them all as a family, knowing full well what she was getting in the middle of. pretty disgusting behavior.

If they have a cow, then chances are they understand that animals are not meat for us to eat, and are people too, so I don't know why you assumed they eat beef. You'd do better asking this of people that you know do eat meat and express those sentiments.

If they don't all become vegan after this, they really need to ask themselves some big questions. How can they be so progressive in some areas, yet so behind when it comes to animals? It's not a trendy fad diet, it's a basic respect for life.

@@candyak9985 Hi there! Please remember not everyone can be vegan! I have a genetic disorder I was born with called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. It’s a protein collagen disorder. So basically my body doesn’t produce enough collagen. And collagen makes up everything in your body, bones, organs, muscles, skin you get the idea. It mainly presents itself in my bones though. I’ve broken a bone over 200 times. I’m 21. I’ve had 17 surgeries. Every 2 months I go in for an IV infusion of a medication that slows down my bad collagen from eating my good collagen. It’s over 2 days. In order to have this IV treatment I have to have a shit ton of protein! The experts in my condition say it makes a huge difference. If my protein, and vitamin D isn’t in a good range I can’t have the treatment. Then I have to wait until I get it up, have a blood test, then finally get it. I take 50,000 IU’s of a vitamin D a week. Before my treatments I take 100,000 IU’s. I also eat a steak the night before because it helps the medication absorb into my body so much better! Basically I’m unable to be vegan. I literally can’t! I try to help in other ways though. I donate to animal rescues, my job is at the animal shelter, I use reusable water bottles, straws, and containers so they don’t go into landfills or oceans and harm our animals. I do everything I can, but it’s just impossible for me to be a vegan. Remember certain religions, medical conditions, and not being economically able to be vegan are all valid!

I meant the Try Guys & co. more specifically because they seem in tune with ethical and environmental issues and one of the biggest ways to impact the planet is to adopt a plant-based diet. I assume that, economically, they'd all be able to do this. I know that not everyone on the planet can go vegan. Likewise, not everyone can go plastic-free or zero waste. But it seems a moral imperative for those of us who can do it. However, I didn't consider whether they'd have health issues that would prevent them going completely plant-based. That's an important point to consider.
However, there's also the fact that our planet is becoming inhospitable and we're in the middle of a mass extinction. This stuff can't be a 'personal choice' anymore --- just like mask-wearing in a pandemic. We need to make allowances for the small group of people who really can't do without certain things, but if someone really can make a change, there needs to be a sense of social pressure. We don't have time left to be polite about this shit.

I REALLY appreciate her advice about how to let the kids get involved on their own terms “even if it doesn’t look like how we would do it” because that’s how I wish more people would interact with me as an autistic person. There’s a lot of pressure to perform engagement in ways that OTHER people would naturally show engagement, when I can be fully engaged from the sidelines. I think kids (all kids) need that kind of space to take in the world at their own pace, and for us to not make them engage with new things (or anything) in different ways just because it fits our own narrow idea of what engagement looks like.

I watched this episode months ago and I remember thinking while watching this that Ned was acting weird, like he really didn't want to be there, so it stuck to my head coz he's not his usual self. Now after the scandal and some rumors saying it had been going on for a year, I had to watch this again... yeah, it's probable they left together
Also explains why Keith seems to like YB more when he's with the food babies doing food challenges (coz apparently "everyone" knew they were flirting)

As someone who live in Wisconsin, I've seen a lot of cows, but these cows are gorgeous. These lovely ladies are probably the cleanest cows I've ever seen, and you can really tell how well taken care of they are!
She has such a soothing voice, and is clearly very passonaite about what she does and very loving twoards the animals. The world needs more people like her.

It's honestly very easy to be vegan right now. Food options were way more limited when I started around 2002. Cheese is the only thing I miss from time to time...but vegan cheese is allllmost there.

I don't do vegan, more vegetarian (bees, for example, don't get harmed and could use the help of beekeeping hives, and my parents own hens and ducks who are exceptionally well treated). If I eat meat I make absolutely sure it's ethically sourced, but I rarely do nowadays.
I try to focus more on encouraging the people who treat their animals well. Our local dairies treat their animals exceptionally, and it shows in the quality of the milk and the cheese (and ice cream!). Our hens produce amazing eggs because we treat them well. It's all about how the animal is treated.

I love her thoughts on kids interacting with animals. I was a shy kid and cautious of approaching new things or people or animals, and space and understanding helped me.
Kids learn through observation, and especially through observing their parents and other trusted adults. If you give them their space and show them by doing it yourself, they'll understand and trust that their new experience is safe. I think it's such a wonderful way to approach teaching kids about the world☺
My journey of leaving Keith thirsty comments needs to take a break here to talk about how incredible this man's heart and soul is. Watching him interact with Becky and his family was so sweet. What a wonderful guy.
