Actually I think Liam has the perfect build for book geralt and Henry has the perfect one for Witcher 3 geralt. Henry almost perfected the voice and I reckon Liam could do a decent job but still no one can replace Henry as geralt of rivia
They carefully tried to make him look like Henry Cavill, and not to discredit Liam Hemsworth but Henry's physique, physicality and voice made the Geralt live action into what it is. Liam is on the unfortunate position, having been the second choice when Henry was cast and now called back to fill in a hard and uncomfortable position. My thoughts exactly.... they know how iconic his voice was and want people to think there is a chance it will play. I think that will be a bigger factor than his looks, and I'm prepared for disappointment.
I never saw the show but I wish he didn’t have the English accent. I get the books have him with it but it was the game that put Witcher on the map. Transfer the voice to the show is all I wanted.
@@frankmarano1118prob cause he doesn't have an accent in the show lmao. Actors are very good at changing their voice take Hugh Jackman for example he's Australian but wolverine doesn't sound Australian lmao
Cavill was decent but the Geralt role is like Batman, most actors can do a good job with it. Yennefer actor is acting circles around everyone else due to her theater experience
For English-speaking viewers - Geralt from the Netflix adaptation has little in common with Geralt from the books, primarily because he has been Americanized and his character has been flattened like a superhero. The real Geralt from the books, especially from the short stories, is a cynic with a heart of gold in the prime of life, unfortunately constantly disappointed by people and the world. I recommend you watch the Polish adaptation, the series, not the full-length film, this is very important. The film is a senseless conglomeration of scenes from the series. The series, on the other hand, is very intimate, with little action due to budget shortages. Sometimes it was impossible to avoid scenes that require money and expensive effects (primarily all kinds of magic and the iconic dragon), nevertheless it is worth watching the whole thing. The series is based on short stories, it does not include later books. Basically, each episode (except for the first two, which tell about Geralt's childhood and youth) is a screen adaptation of a short story. If I had to recommend one in particular, it would be episode five, which is a screen adaptation of the short story "A Shard of Ice". He is truly wonderful in terms of acting, he best shows the difficult relationship between Geralt and Yennefer and how difficult it is for Geralt to live with the label of "different", someone who supposedly "has no feelings" (this is, of course, a lie).
What killed the show: The writing. The person who approved the writing. The person who had creative authority. The people who decided to give birth to the children that ended up producing/writing the show. All their ancestors.
"Let's have a poorly lit scene of Liam walking through the woods, sprinkle in some royalty free sound effects and have him slowly turning his head towards the camera, followed by a dramatic cut to the Witcher theme played by kazoos!"
I mean, they did produce One Piece. That means as long as someone that loves the original material is in control, even Netflix can do good adaptations.
@@stephen01king Yea each production is separate but if you are spending this much money on a beloved franchise you really need to make sure the people running it know what the hell they are doing and why the fans love it so much. They carefully tried to make him look like Henry Cavill, and not to discredit Liam Hemsworth but Henry's physique, physicality and voice made the Geralt live action into what it is.
What killed the show:
The writing.
The person who approved the writing.
