It was really fashionable for actors to attack fans if they hated their movies, but Henry never personally attacked critics of Man of Steel. He didnt take the easy choice that was presented him.

A more doubtful and less optimistic version of the character. I would have loved to see him play a genuine Superman instead of a Snyderized Superman, but I get them casting someone else because the tone of Superman going forward in the DC movieverse is much more what he's like in the comics and the contrast with the Snyder material is just too big. It's due to the writing that Henry isn't even in my top 3 favorite Superman castings, because he would have been otherwise. Christopher Reeve, Tyler Hoechlin, Brandon Routh, in that order, are my favorite castings for Superman. At least they got to portray a version of the character that's more true to the source material. Hopefully Henry can put all he has into Warhammer. Though I wish it had been Warhammer Fantasy instead of 40K, I'm still curious to see how that is going to turn out.
They want a fresh start. They are recasting a lot of the actors for whatever DC story they want to tell. Just like Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in Joker 2.
I think age played a large role. Cavill's 40. James Gunn is going young for the next Superman, with multiple pictures planned. They're rebuilding the DCU and are gonna start making movies with long term plans, networking with other characters and projects. The Marvel approach.

In an age where Hollywood seems intent on insulting fans, demonising them for wanting the story they love brought to life that the very least respect the orginal, deconstructing things people love, its nice to have an actor that cares more about the art then the paycheck.
It's about staying healthy and not just doing things to look a certain way. Love how Henry literally has zero ego here about his looks and being so professional about the realities of how important it is to be healthy and fit when doing all the stunts to make sure you're being safe and avoiding injury. Such a professional, fantastic actor!

Even though the Internet has caused division and polarization, at least everybody seems to be in agreement about two objective facts about our universe: 1. Henry Cavill is perfect as Geralt of Rivia and Superman because of his talent and his passion for these characters and 2. he is a genuinely nice person.
It’s funny that Henry doesn’t know the backstory of the glasses as a disguise. I remember reading that story when I was young where the glass in the glasses was made from the ship that he crashed in because he would melt regular glass when using his heat vision. The glasses would amplify another of his super powers (super hypnotism) where he was subliminally projecting the Clark persona. They actually used this in the original Superman movie (Reeves) when Clark would remove his glasses and he would look like he was growing.

Even though the Internet has caused division and polarization, at least everybody seems to be in agreement about two objective facts about our universe: 1. It’s funny that Henry doesn’t know the backstory of the glasses as a disguise. I remember reading that story when I was young where the glass in the glasses was made from the ship that he crashed in because he would melt regular glass when using his heat vision. The glasses would amplify another of his super powers (super hypnotism) where he was subliminally projecting the Clark persona. They actually used this in the original Superman movie (Reeves) when Clark would remove his glasses and he would look like he was growing.
Its wild how Henry tells us that he almost quit acting to join the army because he wasnt getting any leady roles, and then boom he gets mentioned in the VARIETY magazine and boom his life changes as movie studios began to know who he was. The fact we almost never saw him as Superman is crazy.
