And he laughed hysterically xD. It was awesome. He's a cool dude. We talked for like ten minutes about his role in superman and acting in general. He's as articulate in person as he is in this interview.
The wonderful thing about Henry Cavill playing Superman is that he looks exactly like anyone's idea of Superman, both face and body. I can't imagine any actor who fits this role any better.
The very fact that he's aware of his character so much and what path his character was gonna take, puts him way up on the list of actors who have ever done a CBM/Fantasy genre.
The thing about Henry Cavill, is that even though he is constantly given the short end of the stick when it comes to scripts; he always puts 100% of his heart and pure dedication into every role. You can tell how passionate this man is about film-making. He deserves nothing but the best and better scripts.
Excellently put. I didn't like his Superman at all and I was a bit meh about his Sherlock Holmes. Geralt was good, though, and he was fantastic in Mission Impossible: Fallout. Really entertaining character. You can tell how dedicated and hard working and thoughtful he is about his craft though and, with good writing and direction, he can really shine.
Probably viewer retention. People are going to sit through his bit about Superman because that is his most well known role. It's difficult to get people to watch a 10+ minute video.

It’s no surprise of WB. They’re just money hungry and hella shady. They did the same to Johnny Depp when they told him to step down as Gellert Grindelwald.
People say Superman can't be brooding and sad and dark (like in BvS). Snyder had been clear since the beginning that he wanted to take an approach where he could show how the world would react if they had superheroes amidst them and vice versa. If someone as strong as Superman existed in real life it would DEFINITELY be a topic of discussion in politics, propoganda and general public. In those scenarios Superman (or any other superhero) can't be all happy and charming. If you like that kind of thing added with corny jokes then go watch Marvel movies... WB hurried trying to compete with Marvel that had already established a stable universe for their characters while DCEU was just in it's initial phase. Even if WB had given creative freedom to the writers and producers of these movies it couldn't have caught up to MCU in terms of good pace and execution because the latter was already far ahead. I don't know what WB executives were smoking at that time when they made decisions but they ruined some of the greatest superhero portrayals (Superman by Cavill and Batman by Affleck) for live action and true DC fans will never forgive them for that...
I love the fact that he remembers all the names and talks of others so fondly without taking much credit for his own acting. He seems like a great dude to be friends with.
One of his most admirable traits is that he always comes off as thoughtful and respectful in interviews, constantly giving credit to those around him. Many of his colleagues have said he's kind and not full of himself. Wish more people were like that instead of uncomfortable with sincerity.
what he said about his perfomance in the witcher is incredible. he respected the character instead of looking for a deeper meaning like plenty of actors do, that is exactly why he carried the whole show.

Honestly think Henry’s such an underrated actor. The way he dedicates himself to his roles and just does his research. I will admit I was slightly worried about the Witcher before season 1 but he’s amazing in it and plays Geralt perfectly in my opinion. And he’s a massive fan of the books and games so there’s no better man to play him. Same with a lot of his roles!

I’m glad he’s been acting long enough for people to finally ask him questions beyond his workout and what it’s like to be incredibly handsome. There is so much more to him. Really impressive and I truly hope we get to see him as Bond.
Henry is proof that dedication to source material, thoughtful approach to a character's deeper motivations and their place within a story, and a humble intelligence can elevate a talented actor into becoming a world class actor. Lovely man too, having met him briefly. Seemed kind of bemused by the attention since he doesn't think he's some celebrity star.
He's the next JAMES BOND for me. He's at the same age when Daniel Craig was casted & the fact that he came close to being casted but due to his young age they went for Daniel makes me think they'll go for him this time. And he's absolutely perfect, womanizer appeal & looks tough to look like an agent (Eg. Napoleon Solo)

The more I watch and learn about Henry Cavill and his acting method, his attention to the source material of the characters he plays and his desire to bring accurate representations of them to screen the more I think he should try his hand and directing/script writing for himself….it’s rare to see such commitment and enthusiasm by actors for roles. Totally and utterly refreshing. I love this guy! I hope he gets his chance to play a Warhammer character in film or tv soon!
My sis and I are rooting for Henry to become the next James Bond. He has the brains and the brawn.....and the looks. Women would be even more drawn into watching future Bond movies if he was cast and this would in turn affect the bottom line: more tickets sold and more money made for these films. Henry's voice is smooth as velvet, which solidifies his Hollywood leading man status at its finest. He's pure PERFECTION, case closed and the court is adjourned.
he's really well-spoken and articulate. I like his very real perspective on acting, being on-set, in a production and his experience working with others. also, that his prep for each character isn't always the same, which is insightful within itself, as us actors are often told to find a style that's "right" and stick with it.
I love how he takes everything close to the heart, he acknowledges people and is very caring about the project, the development of the message. That is passion and care for his and other's craft.
Henry made the witcher what it is today I was so stressed that they would yet again ruin another series dear to my heart. But after watching it even in S2 I still get amazed at how I really am looking at Geralt not someone playing Geralt
It's so sad though. He's literally THE ONLY GOOD THING about the show. If he decided to quit, that show would be gone. All the other actors are either terrible or inauthentic due to their scripts. Heck, even the costumes (other than Geralt's) look like something out of SNL. And I'm even talking about Season two after they had a successful season 1. I feel so bad for Henry. He deserves better. Actually, he has said that at first he was only familiar with the video games. I think he only started getting into the books when preparing for the show.
He was cast because he was such a fan, that he went all out to get the part when he heard they were making it. That was before they even went into the casting process.

While he’s not getting hundreds of A list jobs, he’s getting jobs he seems passionate about. I think being passionate about the characters is more important than a bunch of movies that aren’t great. I have seen a lot of a list actors that get popular and grab every job that comes their way and it ends up ruining or almost ruining their career.
Hollywood’s treatment of Henry shows how clueless and out-to-lunch the studio heads, producers and directors are. He’s absolutely adored by fans, he’s considered to be the “whole package”, talent, looks, dedication, a real nerd and gamer who wears it on his sleeve, he deserves so much more.

I've said it since the beginning too, Man of Steel was a set up so we could get to the Superman we know and love. He has to go through the trials first. Him killing Zod and destroying a city is a stepping stone to the beacon of hope we know of

I'm watching The Witcher season 2 and find it interesting that for the part Henry lost two of his most beautiful physical features: his blue eyes and dark hair. Surprisingly I find him even more striking to look at, a true embodiment of the character. Thank you Henry for your dedication in bringing the Witcher to life!

This is a showcase of Henry's awareness of each character but his intelligence. More so his emotional intelligence. You can see how he looks beyond the scope of a character and I think he does an incredible job with all of his roles. Praying for Man of Steel 2/ more of his superman after the discovery takeover. Honestly think Henry’s such an underrated actor. The way he dedicates himself to his roles and just does his research. I will admit I was slightly worried about the Witcher before season 1 but he’s amazing in it and plays Geralt perfectly in my opinion. And he’s a massive fan of the books and games so there’s no better man to play him. Same with a lot of his roles!

The more I watch and learn about Henry Cavill and his acting method, his attention to the source material of the characters he plays and his desire to bring accurate representations of them to screen the more I think he should try his hand and directing/script writing for himself….it’s rare to see such commitment and enthusiasm by actors for roles. I like his very real perspective on acting, being on-set, in a production and his experience working with others. also, that his prep for each character isn't always the same, which is insightful within itself, as us actors are often told to find a style that's "right" and stick with it.
I love how he takes everything close to the heart, he acknowledges people and is very caring about the project, the development of the message. That is passion and care for his and other's craft.

I'm watching The Witcher season 2 and find it interesting that for the part Henry lost two of his most beautiful physical features: his blue eyes and dark hair.
