@@dommelschivy1042 you missed the whole point I was trying to get across. Of course there are European supermoto series that are going on. But I want to see a format like the old "superbikers" race where you get to see the top names in different areas of motorcycle racing compete. I would have loved seeing Marc Marquez race against Eli Tomac and other top guys!
Freaking awesome! All that talent in one format, field stacked deep with absolute legends! Topped off with a garbage Sam Posey segment whilst missing most of an asswhoopin' being dished out by a badass like Eddie Lawson. I would like to see more of this.
I used to go to this event regularly, including that year I believe. I remember the first year Lawson won, and the motocross guys were spooked as soon as they saw him in practice. I didn't personally hear it, but it was Bob Hannah I think who reportedly muttered while timing Danny Chandler's lap times, "Magoo's in trouble" after seeing Lawson's speed. Danny was the defending champ I think, but Eddie smoked everyone. I can remember Lawson and Rainey going side by side and hanging all over each other in their heat, and that was probably the year of this video, 1985. Got pics somewhere.
Thank goodness they didn't include interviews afterword's of 2 nd and 3 rd place. So tired of hearing Ward go over the usual plethora of excuse making. haha My oatmeal was too cold..... oatmeal too hot ... oatmeal too dry ... boots too loose ... shirt not the right colour. ,,, lol
Eddie Lawson was quietly brilliant in his era, one of the best riders ever to swing a leg over a bike.
I wish they still had this race going. It would be cool to see the current riders from different sports going at it....

Sadly, there's an industrial park where this race, and many others once took place.
There is a mall where Riverside International Raceway was in Moreno Valley.
Carlsbad raceway was my home track. Raced mx, Grand Prix, vintage mx and drag raced there from the 70’s into the 2000’s.
