- Another great vintage shot: Superbiker 1986: in the movie, the nature of a ''superbiker'' bike explained.
Anything riding the asphalt with wheels bigger than 17 inches, 21-19 /21-18 / 19- 19 and so on, is to be considered a Supermoto Bigfoot.
Superbikers 1986 race chart:
1. Eddie Lawson

3. Wayne Rainey
4. Jeff Ward
I remember hearing rumors that Al Baker somehow managed to extract almost 60hp out of that YZ490, which is crazy considering that motor only made about 45 hp in stock trim -
Good commentary. I pulled about 60HP from a 490 in 1988. Didn’t know there was any more to be had. At that level the motor is totally top end oriented, hence no good for MX but great on the tarmac.
What an amazing performance from that air-cooled 490.. I've had a couple of those, but never managed to make them run propperly. -while if I jumped on a liquid cooled Big Bore -you know who- they'd run smooth and clean every time..
-Man.. Now, all of sudden, I would like to find my self another YZ 490 and give it one more try... :-)

La canzoncina di sottofondo è magica
That was funny. First bike they show is a flat-tracker, and they called it a 'dirt bike'
Actually a correct term at the time. Now people commonly refer to motocross and enduro bikes as dirt bikes
people weren't calling them flat trackers at the time
He said knobbley tires.Ha!
Video bellissimo!
Comunque che strano vedere dei velocisti che riuscivano ad essere competitivi coi crossisti.
