I never even thought about getting a CDL. I use to just be a curios type youtuber. I got my CDL about 2 months ago and I learned mostly everything from this guy. To people who are trying to obtain a CDL and learn: He's not telling you anything wrong. This guy is very knowledgeable and dont mind sharing what he knows.
What’s up JR, I’ve been watching your vids for a while now. I was just wondering since you do training vids, why don’t you do some vids of other things new drivers need to know? Like showing the new guys what to bring along like equipment or tools, or how to pack to be on the road, or cooking and eating on the road and especially like where you take your 10 hour reset or 34 hour reset besides truck stops. I really think that’d be cool. Stay safe out there driver.
Keep it on the 8th hole from the front on your tandems over 90% of the time it will be legal plus its California legal. I had a DOT officer show me this tip and I never had a problem with my 25 years of trucking.
Very interesting, just confusing to me, but it's because I've been driving for 6 months only, I didn't even know we have to calibrate it, I'm going to look for more lessons about this, so I learned how to do it and when to do it, thank you!!
Thanks Junior I'm Steven Dorn I'm new at Prime ... just finish TNT ... I'm starting my lease and I really appreciate Your information beacuse I needed it badly because out on the road my trainer didn't teach me a lot of things that you're teaching. This is priceless man .... keep up the good work hopefully I'll meet you one day.. peace brother
On the condo trucks, moving the fifth wheel is neccessary. On the lightweight truck, i moved mine 2 notches back. My weight was 13,700 on the steer tires. Now its more like 10-12k. Great video
Got my truck today. Stopped at the Truck Wash on the way home. After five weeks on the trainer's truck, I need a nap. Tomorrow is 'Clean The Inside". I think he used the fridge as an ashtray. FML
How you doing Jr, so total for gross was 74,000 ? , I got 33,000 for drives, 29,000 for tandems, 62,000 + 12,000 = 74,000 ? 76,468 - 74,000 = 2,468 68,580 total on prime scale. Glad you pointed that the paperwork was off. We’re your tandems at the 9th hole before or after the calibration ? This video is worth its weight in gold. Thank you
When calibrating either the right weigh on the trailer or your drives load scale, do you always need to have brakes pushed in and in neutral like you would on a scale? I’ve noticed my drives scale would change whenever I disengage my trailer brakes. Wondering if I’m calibrating it improperly
Never trust the billed weight. Sometimes shippers will do that to get a lower shipping rate. Sometimes it's an honest mistake. I had one load that billed at 29K but which scaled at 40K.
Hi~ How about 2021 peterbilt 579 fifth wheel? What is the right spot for pete? Literally I need to adj holes everytime .... unless its really light load... where will be sweet spot for it?
Michigan requirement is 37ft minimum and 41ft max from kingpin to center of axle group (2ft forward of rear axle). You should be perfectly legal in the 4th hole.
Tanks for the Video very informal all be going to Driving School with Prime I'm scheduled for November 26 for orientation in Slat lake training campus hope to see you the and be my trainer because I like the way you explain everything so hope to see you there Thanks for the good Videos
Yea well most shippers wont rework you unless you have a certified scale ticket showing they are wrong . Which I think is dumb because us drivers know what we can haul and how everything feels and looks
What's this 12th hole thing you're talking about? Most states have no restrictions at all on how far back you can have the tandems. Only 13 states have any kind of dimension restrictions.
10:29 mark explains it. You might want to tell Prime that their decal has all kinds of bad info in it. It shows several states there which have no restrictions on where you can place the tandems. PA, NC, SC, and NY all have no restrictions. IN has a 40ft limit, but it applies to straight trucks only and not for tractor-trailers.

Thank you brother.. nobody showed me that in school or out in the world at a company
I’m new to prime. I needed to understand this, great info and thanks for sharing 👍

I remember watching this when I first started in 2018 man time flys!
Hey I live your videos. I am considering prime once I finish CDL school in May. Question. How long training on average to get the 50000 miles?
5:17 dude was feeling his self in the passengers seat
Got my truck today. Stopped at the Truck Wash on the way home.

A seen you guys this morning....Sacramento 49er✌🏾😃💯
Yes that was us at the pilot 🇭🇳👍😎👍🇭🇳
Yep, sometimes they don't add pallet weight too.

Hello! Junior question if you have a commercial license permit but didn't take your DOT. How does that work out with Prime Inc?
great info about weights
What do you do when the shipper says not to move tandems on thier property. I've seen the signs there.
Hi~
How about 2021 peterbilt 579 fifth wheel? What is the right spot for pete?
Literally I need to adj holes everytime .... unless its really light load... where will be sweet spot for it?
Oh shit. I’ve ran in the 4th hole in Michigan before. If caught what kind of ticket would I get?
Oh snap. Be careful and I'm not sure what kind of ticket you would get. Any ticket is not a good thing. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching 👍

Check your steers to see what they are rated for ...
And my question is when's the last time your prime scale was calibrated? It could be off as well
Brad from N H , junior does prime have part time positions available?
Tanks for the Video very informal all be going to Driving School with Prime I'm scheduled for November 26 for orientation in Slat lake training campus hope to see you the and be my trainer because I like the way you explain everything so hope to see you there Thanks for the good Videos
nice video
I really appreciate you watching the video. Thanks for coming by 🇭🇳👍😎👍🇭🇳
😀🇩🇴 looking forward to see you as my teacher 😀🇩🇴

Thank you so much I watch alot of your videos I am 20 about two be 21 I wanna be a tanker driver
How do I go about getting you as a mentor before or after these test
do all trailers have right weigh? first time I ever see this...
Yea well most shippers wont rework you unless you have a certified scale ticket showing they are wrong . Which I think is dumb because us drivers know what we can haul and how everything feels and looks
great info....tfs
Thank you 🇭🇳👍😎👍🇭🇳
Great video
Good video! I'm learning alot from you..
Since the 41k is off whyd they do that do sometimes shippers have it off in their Bills?
I'm reading 28, 820 on that flickering digital scale, but I keep hearing Junior saying 28, 840. What gives?
Prime is a great a company but they Don’t have dry van trucks, I worked view months
How much weight is each line on the right weight does it vary by model of trailers
Hola catracho rstoy comensando El triner y no tengo ningun referente
Great video CATRACHO SALUDES
Do you have to account for fuel weight
Yes fuel is about 7 pounds per gallon if I'm not mistaken, which depending on how you're loaded will factor into your steer and drive axle weights

What was the outcome of the last video where there was an obvious bulge in the trailer side? Didn't see any note in the comments.
