This is my first "same day" video in over a year... it took me that long to go through each Back Issues and comment on/like each one. It's been a fun journey to go through my favorite series on RUclips once again!

There are early classic episodes I'd watch any time (Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Siege, Old Man Logan, All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder), episodes that surprised me with how funny I found them (Daredevil: Guardian Devil), the different hosting approach from Tiffany (Saga, Vol. 1, God Country, Marvel 1602). It's honestly too tough to pick, and I'll find a new "favorite" every time I go through the catalog again.

I love that Ben is so into this long ass complicated crossover. All because Tiff did an outstanding job explaining everything needed to enjoy this story. Was waiting for this one and it did not disappoint. In 6-8 months when we get the HellFire Gala fuckery it's gonna be another wild ride!
This event ties all the way back into the Alan Davis Chris Claremont era, which is pretty great. Saturyne has had a long history of being tied romantically to Brian across realities. Apparently she does not realize that doing your best to mdk your proposed paramour's sister to clear the deck for him to take a role that leaves him by your side is not the smoothest maneuver.
White Sword: "The duel is a sacred act, using poison or cheating is disgraceful and I will not stand for it" Also White Sword: "In this 1 on 1 duel with me you must first kill my 100 men all at once"
Also, Grass Cutter is an ancient Japanese sword. It's called Grass Cutter because a single swipe will send out a slicing wind that can cut down a field of tall grass with one stroke.
I'm so happy Tiffany was the one to shepard the guys through this one, she did it flawlessly. I just read the story myself a few days ago, so this was great timing. Hope we see her cover more of the X stuff going forward, she did great
Nice call predicting Excalibur (aka Apocalypse and What He Doin) would tie into this! Being previously introduced to Saturnyne and the Braddocks’ status quo coming into this and how Avalon tied into everything really helped and would’ve been a lot to unpack in an already jam-packed episode. Going back to read X of Swords, I probably would’ve glossed over that part entirely. Can’t wait til I have time to go back and read through everything myself.
I didn't watch this episode when it first dropped because I was still busy getting caught up on all the DoX books, but I finally read X of Swords and I gotta say that I really enjoyed it, as did I enjoy this episode. Thanks to Tiffany and Sal for making me want to get into this new age of X books.
Loved this so much when it came out. So glad they guys enjoyed how fun and bonkers the matchups were. This will definitely be an episode i rewatch in the future.
Really great episode, I already know it's going to be one of my favourites! It was really nice seeing Tiffany having such a blast telling this story, and Ben and Ethan enjoying it too.
I kinda wish the first half of the event was called 'Road to X of swords' or something like that. Rather than burning out by the middle, I would've been able to compartmentalize the comic budget

Kudos to Tiffany for the really entertaining way she covered this massive event! I have to admit that I did not enjoy X of Swords and the problem I had with it was that while so many crazy things happened, but I didn't care about why they happened or the point of it. Much of the story didn't make sense and were apprarently done to cheekily subvert my expectations in a way that I didn't find satisfying. Finally, so many of the characters who show up don't act like themselves, but instead act the way that needed to advance to the next big thing that happens. This event is far better in summary than issue to issue where plot and little details matter.
Totally agree with you. I love Tiffany's presentation of the story, but I hate the story itself. The constant stacking of the deck against the X-group just got to the point where I had no interest in what was happening.
I do like how Hickmans like to hell with it let's get weird and tell a big ass long form story tying in my retcons and using tarot cards as a narrative device. I really like what he's doing with the xmen and am super eager to see how it end in a typical cult fashion. Also I love how summoner looks similar to the familiar in Black Monday Murders
