29:12 Ironically enough, Juggernaut IS THERE alongside Magneto, Kingpin, Doc Ock, and Dr Doom on the page of that comic where a bunch of villains are there also mourning over the senselessness of what happened
*can't stop laughing* Tiffany's reaction at 11:02 "Oh we are going to get flagged" just the best reaction... in 11 minutes this is so Tiffany's episode just her reactions to all of this is priceless... thank you Sal and Ben
I always remembered Liefeld’s artwork as sketchbook figures flying in colorful voids with no sense of background or perspective because he couldn’t really be bothered to draw either one
Thanks a lot Beastie Boys, now I can’t hear the title without thinking of Spider-Man going: Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage, Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage, Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage lol
These 90s books make me realize just how much I didn't notice reading this stuff as a kid. The amount of things they get away with based on the assumption that their readers won't notice can be crazy. 😳😂
It's the same with cartoons no? The 90s cartoons looking back got away with some crazy stuff that today kids will get offended lol. Just shows how old we are getting .😅
@@JohnClark-tt2bl so mamy great shows from the 90s still holds up today, they were ahead of their time when it came to creating stories which at the time was new but looking back most stories we can relate today what was told 30 or 25 years ago.
Greg Capullo’s run on X-Force was actually pretty badass once the Liefeld clown got outta the way. Under Capullo the kids started growing up and kicking ass for real.

You know what’s also screwed up in that spider-man comic? Juggernaut was there helping to clear debris. I like to see think the whole time he was there that he thinking ‘oh god please don’t anyone remember the time I did this!’
The other day I found an old box in the back of my closet. Opened it up and found a bunch of stuff from when I was a kid. I was shocked to find some of my dads and a few of my grandpas comics that I read when I was 5. Kept in a GI Joe toy box was old he man comics and a few JLA comics I got when I was kid. But the comics from my dad and grandpa blew my mind. I had in mint condition first printings of Jim lee’s x men #1, Todd McFarlane’s two part Spider-Man x force, and the death of Superman. I was in shock for nearly a minute just looking at the comics in my hands. My grandfather was a massive comic fan and grew up reading these heroes since he was a kid. As a child I must’ve never paid attention but now through channels like this I’ve learned the history and value of these books. To hold a piece of comic book history that my grandpa once read was really emotional for me. Thank you Sal and the gang for helping me love comics as much as my grandpa did.
Dear Lord: I had one issue out of this series forever and I always wondered about this story as well. I still remember the line "X-Force we are leaving" and Spider-man telling the team you want to fight the Juggernaut you talk to a guy who knows how, aka Spider-man.
Was just thinking about wanting you guys to cover more x books, so great timing on that one! Never before have I heard of or seen this book, so that means I’m in for a wild ride here. Would particularly love to see Ethan and Ben, or Tiffany’s takes on E is For Extinction, Riot at Xavier’s, The Apocalypse Solution, the Dark Angel Saga, or literally any Krakoa stuff.
I instantly recognized that cover and said "Oh that's Spider-Man #16. The one I had to read sideways." And I also never read the X-Force issues. Made an impression that lasted 30 years.
The sideways thing was Liefeld's gimmick. He famously did an issue of Hawk & Dove in the landscape format, apparently without clearing it with his editor, who had the panels cut and pasted into the proper vertical orientation.
Is Tiffany's shirt a Hearts of Darkness shirt? Looks like the Punisher skull, with Wolverine slash marks for the teeth. Then the top is on fire as a nod to Ghost Rider.
Remember the annuals in.....2005ish? They were printed sideways as well and had the staples on the small side.....they called it cinema-scope or Marvel-scope or something
I remember hearing about the comic having to be edited and never getting to see why. Thanks for sharing! Totally forgot about it this till you mentioned it.
I watch these at night, im so excited for this one I couldnt wait to make a comment. Liefeld, Fabian N., Juggernaut, Spider-man, X-force, Macfarlane, I mean.. This is the Saved by the Bell of comics for me. This is everything I loved growing up.
I have those issuses of X- Force. My brother and I thought the sideways thang was so cool... Cable is dope in that run. We never noticed the triangle feet Rob drew until years later.
I don't know, if the 9/11 tribute comic had gone from character to character solemnly reacting to the senseless loss of life, and randomly shown Juggernaut doing a crazy M. Bison laugh, would that have been in poor taste?
Funny that Cerebro (the X-Men podcast) came out with their long-awaited Juggernaut episode as this is uploaded. Yeah, Juggs and Black Tom are best "pals".
“Bridge to Captain, ready on your mark.” “Lieutenant… access Beastie Protocol 1 and slam that 12” new hotness onto my ones & twos… in my personal quarters.” “Acknowledged…” (Zip ZAPpin finger tappin to that Branigan-esque beat) 🎶“Oh… my God… ITS… a mirage!? I'm… tellin' y'all it's… a SABOTAGE!!!… sahhhh-BOW-TAAAAAAAGE!!!🎶 “Somewhere..Calculon weeps!!!”
I checked out a collection of Spider-Man stories by Todd McFarlane from the library. One of the last stories was this one but I never read it and didn’t know what happened. But now I know thanks to this episode!🔥🔥🔥
wow Spiderman is Honorary Mutant Now i feels right to do this story Thank You Sal and Pals for increasing my Marvel World View Landscape🙏🙏🙏🙏,Also the Best Part of this Back Issues Episode is Right here 10:57
Not just 10 years prior, but more importantly, 2 years prior to when that truck bomb was detonated in the parking garage of one of the trade center buildings.
"Juggernaut can't melt steel beams" and "subjectively how many ass cheeks does he have" are going to be ones that stick with me for a while
Until today, I didn’t know Black Tom Cassidy was a mutant. I thought he was just Irish.
Same thing, really.
Tomato tomahto.
I thought being Irish was his mutant ability. Like put a power inhibiting collar around him and he sounds like Ben Grimm’s cousin from Yancy St…
Bro your a og I just went back watch a 8 year old video and you were commenting
Than how is he in the x-men comics than?
"and as we know, Force Works." SAL reminding everyone how long he's been reading comic books with that beautiful reference.
Nothing like a Rob Liefeld story to make me go "wait, what happened" immediately after hearing it walked through in detail.

More like thank you Tiffany, I think, for sitting through this crap 😂
She was so funny this episode. Indignant artist Tiff is top-tier Tiff
I need her reaction as a gif.
@9:59 Arianna looks like an evil April O’Neil, LOL

Started watching the channel like 3 weeks ago, and I must’ve already watched like 40 episodes, you guys all rock, thank you comic pop
Glad to have you!

@6:30 TIFFANY’S Great escape! 😅
The fucking looks Tiffany makes while she was picking apart the cover, pure gold. Need her on an episode with greg land's art.
Art is a BROAD term. If it was put on a black couch in front of a camera, on the other hand....
extra points for the ben's shirt bit 🤣
4:05 I could watch an hour of Tiffany alone on the couch silently trying to decipher Liefelds “anatomy” artwork!!! 😂🤣
Greg Capullo’s run on X-Force was actually pretty badass once the Liefeld clown got outta the way. Under Capullo the kids started growing up and kicking ass for real.
Sal: today we're doing Spider-Man/Xforce sabotage from Todd McFarlane,
Tiffany: ok cool
Sal: and Rob leifeld
Tiffany: $+&t!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is Tiffany wearing a HEARTS OF DARKNESS (the Marvel comic featuring Ghost Rider, Punisher and Wolverine) sweater?
I love that Tiffany is the cat in the bath this whole episode
4:00 tiffany quietly realizing the anatomy is crap.
Rob Liefeld on Spider-Man is peak sure. But a new episode of Harbor Patrol would be the peak of peaks.
"Subjectly speaking, how many ass cheeks does he have?" That will be a line to remember. 😂 Comedy gold.
11:00 😂 Tiffany's reaction lol
Run Tiffany, escape while you can!!!! hahaha
The green screen/green shirt gag was great, I love the gag potential in editing

I too picked up that Hearts of Darkness longsleeve.😎 Guess Weapon Prime is doing a Lobo shirt next.
For some kid in the 90s this must have been the coolest thing ever
I found this in the 90s...at a thrift store...it certainly was...a comic.
As someone who is into sports batting .666 is not only major league level, it’s hall of fame, greatest hitter who ever lived level.
In regards to Tiffanys question. In 1998s Mutant X. There was a team named "The Pack" that was feral versions of Wolverine, Sabertooth and Wild Child.
Can't wait till you guys do Youngblood volume 1.😂😂😂
I hope you have Tiffany for that one 😂😂😂
You know what’s also screwed up in that spider-man comic? Juggernaut was there helping to clear debris. I like to see think the whole time he was there that he thinking ‘oh god please don’t anyone remember the time I did this!’
"I don't know sports."
Neither does Cable

Nothing beats the craziness of the 90s!
I'll never understand how Rob Liefeld managed to become such a popular artist. The 90's was weird time.
The 90s really were a wild and crazy time to be alive.
It sucks that it took so long to bring back Thunderbird but The Gifted did him pretty good to me also I can tell Tiffany loved most of the art here🤣
“Bye, Todd”, indeed.
What was the first sideways comic you ever read Sal and how baffling was it to read?
Dear Lord: I had one issue out of this series forever and I always wondered about this story as well. I still remember the line "X-Force we are leaving" and Spider-man telling the team you want to fight the Juggernaut you talk to a guy who knows how, aka Spider-man.
Tiffany trying to comprehend Rob Liefeld's art during the whole video is sending me😆
Saving this one for my drive to work in the AM but I am intrigued 😂
Nothing stops the JncoNaut!
Tiffany is the MVP in this episode🏆Her disdain for comic is hilarious 😂😂 I’m glad Sal had her on the couch for this great episode
I love that i can depend on new episodes of back issues every Wednesday to brighten my week. Thank you Sal!
I saw Rob Liefeld in the caption, I had to watch this.

Best part of comic pop is watching Tiffany react to Rob leifelds artwork. It's like she's watching a live show of springtime for Hitler.😂😂😂😂
X-Force… now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time; before the dark times. Before One more day…
23:19 that is so freaking cool never change you guys.... I guess unless you changing for the better then absolutely change
My favorite part of this story is that it gave Tiffany the ability to reference Gravity Falls.
Iirc, the towers were also attacked in Kitty Pryde: Agent of SHIELD
By the prophets, is Tiffany wearing a Weapon Prime shirt??
That last bit with the lines, i felt that. Sotty Tiff :c

Two minutes in 'that looks familair'. Check my shelf and I've got it. Christ 😂
This was my first angry like and my for the stellar presentation but because it brought me back to a time where comics were all rage all the time

Great episode, will rewatch over and over again until we have a new Harbor Patrol 💕💕💕
OMG this one my first run ever reading as a kid, my older cousin just randomly had it in his collection. Love these types off back issues the most!

Best X-Force runs are from Chris Yost/ Craig Kyle and Clayton Crain, and Rick remender and Jerome Opena.

Yes! This is what I subscribe for

I don't know what it says about me, that my favorite episodes are when Tiffany is annoyed. I should probably explore that.
The sideways issue 😊 there was a time 😅
A .666 batting average is impossible, but maybe in the future Cable comes from everyone is much better at baseball.
Loved the episode.
can we get a Drunk episode of back issues?
Oh dear Rob leifeld had a peak at one point. Truly the 90s was a strange place
Hahaha this was great! It really took me back to those bad 90s books

No Beauty boys reference?!?! Not one? Sabotage!!
Great episode. Hope for the modern moon knight run and punisher vol. 2 run.
X-Force really feels like the shitty Suicide Squad from the second movie that was never meant to survive.
