Maria- Some of the reviewers who seem to review only Middle Eastern Fragrances suggest that you spray about 10 times to get the stuff out of the straw . They say what is in the straw is not reflective of the actual scent. For what it's worth. Thanks for you and your channel.

Hi Marie...these Middle Eastern fragrances come new and not matured. When I got Honor and Glory, it had almost no scent. It took a month for the fragrance to even emerge. You have to spray about 5 or 6 sprays and let them sit. It is frustrating, but that's how it is. Don't let these first smells be your evaluations.
Middle eastern fragrance you have have to spray them about 8 to 10 times. Let them set for 3 weeks to 2 months and the true magic happens. I have over 50 bottles. I promise you the way it starts is now how it ends. Great haul, you got me online adding more to my collection 😂
Hi - Another reviewer said to spray these middle eastern fragrances a few times (to empty the straw) and let it set for several day as they don’t give their perfumes enough time to mature. I bought La Taffe Choco Musk and it initially smelled like alcohol and now several months later it smells exactly like what it claims (like coco puffs cereal) and also lasts. Just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking they will het better for you, good luck❤️
Can't agree more. I just got some and upon initial spray I could tell it spelled chemically...so I sprayed it several times as recommended by other reviewers...one who actually worked for one of the companies...she also said to leave the cap off and let it set for a few weeks to a month in a dark place...so mine are in a drawer and I've marked my calendar...for the price these are compared to a lot of niche ones...I'll wait.
It's a science it's called Maceration.
Definitions: It allows the fragrance to mature: Fragrance oils contain volatile compounds that evaporate quickly. When you first mix the fragrances together, the scent can be overpowering and harsh.

I really love Honor & Glory. It is one of my favorite Middle Eastern fragrances. ❤️ Hopefully with some time getting to know it you will love it also... and Yara Moi (the white one) is my favorite of the 3 feminine Yaras. It's more of a powdery peach fragrance. But it's still probably a 7.5/10

I have had Badee Al Oud Honor and Glory for a couple weeks and am loving it. I agree that it is cozy. Its drydown is reminiscent to Tribeca and they are great layered. I definitely have been toying with purchasing Yara Tous. I like the idea of a mango Viva La Juicy. I thought Daddy Yankee’s Dyamante was that. It just didn’t last long enough for me.I hope you get your bottles replaced.

Such a great Haul Maria. Honour and Glory was not my favourite. I'll give it some time… On the other hand, I absolutely love Glorious Oud Royal Blanc by FA Paris, right from the first spray and more now, after maceration.

The beautiful and high quality packaging of Velvet Rose is my favourite thing about it 😅So sorry yours is dodgy! The content of mine is super intense and lasts forever, I do love rose but not this type, I find it heavy on a.. strong cold woody 'musk', vaguely. Kind of modern and cool but.. eh. Gotta re-try after having it for over a year. But I don't want to. 😂

Hi Maria, really love the idea of a winter pineapple fragrance. With Honour and Glory I'm always a bit irritated that I cant figure out what vibe they're going for. I'm even more irritated that I like it and keep reaching for it. 😂

I’m sure the weather reeked havoc on your bottles but that’s such a bummer! Hopefully they are usable. I have Honor and Glory and it’s pretty intense for me. Not sure I like it but letting it sit for a while first which I typically notice many of my middle eastern perfumes are not loves for a couple months, then they improve to my nose a lot.
Wait the yara tous will grow on you. I love it.

Swiss Arabian has Wild Spirit which smells like Erba Pura/Honour and Glory/Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited. It is an interesting one. Love Leen it is very sophisticated and elegant.
I was able to sample LEEN, on first spray it felt familiar...not sure what.... definitely a fruity floral. My skin picked up the Jasmine and Osmanthus with fruity mango leaning more floral on me. I can't handle many Jasmine fragrances but LEEN is very nice.

You have to let that Honor & Glory macerate. Empty the stem and let it sit for a couple weeks. I promise it turns into something MAGICAL.

@@ultraviolettas the musk is strong and I'm not a huge musk lover either. I feel the other notes balances it out some though.
I have velvet oud. The same bottle you have. My clear cap started off like yours. It's completely off now. I've probably sprayed it 20 times. Super glue on my grocery list. I have the yara. After 6mths I believe its going to be its best. I did find out I don't care for mango or most tropical notes. I'm waiting for the honor/glory to reach its peak. I think I'm going to enjoy it
I have a yara mini and to me it does smell like strawberries and cream.

OMG Maria, we seem to be on the same scent trail! I just gifted my Yara Tous to a friend on her bday... it did smell like Mango, which I was after, but it was just a "meh" for me, kinda like the original Yara... I need more oomph in my perfumes, and I may not be completely sold on smelling like a Mango Lassi (Indian mango/yogurt drink).
I’m really liking Leen. It works in cold but would be better in warmer weather!!
I'm really interested in the Honor & Glory as I love pineapple and it just seems like something I would go for. Still deciding on all the Yaras. Sorry your bottles got cracked due to the cold temps, hope you can get it sorted with the company. I'd love to hear back about how these evolve over time as they mature, as all middle-eastern fragrances seem to do. I'm sure they will continue to improve.
perfume online has an insurance that you can buy so I got my money back but was able to keep the bottles as well. More and more I love Honour & Glory...it's quite warm and rich but the pineapple says present!

Ugh! Now I’m totally scared. The only one I’ve ever bought was the Amethyst and yeah that will be up in my Mercari shop any day now. I wish it was easier to get sample sizes of those scents because I really want to try Ansaam Gold and Affection.

Hi Maria- I just received my Baroque satin oud … I like it but it’s not a love as yet. I find it’s very powdery, hoping it will die down after maceration. I’ll let you know. Keep up the Fantastic work❣️

According to another RUclipsr I watch she suggested doing a couple things when you get these middle eastern fragrances. 1.Empty the straw. 2.Let it sit on the shelf for a week or more and the fragrance will macerate(sp). I have tried that with all of mine and it does seem to make a difference:))

I have the Velvet Rose. I think that odd note is the labdanum. Smells like leather and wood. Not a fan but at least my cap isn't shaky. 😅
I have Amber Oud Gold and found it a bit too feminine for me as a guy when I first bought it. Time has made it a bit more unisex but one spray is still enough to project for most of the day. I recently tried a sample vial of Erba Pura which is much better, especially on the terrific smelling dry down.
I have velvet rose and just finally admitted to myself after 2 months that I do not like it, at all. I wanted so badly to like it but I can’t. My 20 yr old hates it as well. Thank you for your videos. Truly respect your opinions.

I have the Velvet Rose. I know were may be tired of hearing the word mancerate. I didn’t even know what it was until I got into fragrances but I’m here to tell you. I’ve experienced that it took about 6 months for the Velvet Rose to change or calm down. With that being said I’m not a Rose lover. I love the smell but I just don’t want to wear it on my skin but if you love rose you’ll love the Velvet Rose. I can’t bring my self to part with it because I love it pick it up and spray it in the room every now and then but it’s not so bad for the price.

I got the Velvet Rose as a gift for my grandmother. As someone who hates rose, I thought it was really nice and nuanced. Also, love the packaging and the bottle. The atomizer on it was also really good. I’m sorry yours was a dud.
Yes, mine also has a great and sturdy packaging, feels very high quality. Also super strong and long lasting.
As a huge fan of rose it was not what I had hoped 😅 but it's very intense on.. some say patchouli, or oud, or a cold woody musk.

I've been curious about this one because Velvet Oud is such a love (for gifting to men, not on me personally). I hope it also comes in the 50ml size (the Velvet Oud 50ml is a mini version of the full size bottle and super cute, rather than the generic looking Crown Perfume bottles that many are packaged in).
Also, I just blind bought Badee al Oud Sublime! Both Sublime and Honor & Glory FINALLY arrived at my NZ online retailer, and I only chose Sublime because it's the height of summer here... I will update you on the scent/performance as soon as I receive it, I'm getting your Honor & Glory next month!
Ditto! I saw them too!!! So good to be getting new fragrances in NZ. I bought Khamrah this summer purely so it can sit and macerate and be perfect for the winter. Blind buys are scary though!
@@debbietaylor9241 Yay, finally! Agreed, blind buys are scary but for the price not as bad as some designer scents atm! I've had Khamrah since November and I absolutely LOVE IT! I wore it during the holidays (at night, I'm in Chch), and everyone commented on how yummy it was! Including my partner who tried to claim it (no way, already gave him Club de Nuit Untold and Amethyst).

What a shame about those bottles! For what it's worth, the atomizer on my Khamrah isn't great either (although I love the perfume). Hopefully your batch macerates and develops beautifully for you!
Hi, I did bought some samples of new one Lattafa. Did you try radio or some of new one? The most complement getter is Rasana from rasasi and last more than 12 hours on my skin.
I've never tried Rasana...I will see if Val has it so I can try it. Many people have mentioned it.

I think the white one is strong on musk copying MUSK THERAPY? from INITIO. I usually don't blind buy but I love Alien , like DG The One Intense so I bought Armani PRIVE's Rouge Malachite dupe for around 20 dollars without even smelling the real thing. I am travelling about 4-5 times ayear and I never saw Armani Prive collection at the airport. They are so much more expensive now they must only be avaiable at strictly luxury stores. The more I love middle eastern fragrances !
There's no musk in Honor and Glory, not a Musk Therapy dupe. It's more like a cross of Nishane Hacivat and Ani.

Ya, not musky. I think it was because they were so cold. I should have been normal and wait till they came to room temp before filming but I was so excited that I started recording as soon as they came in! That’s why I did the 24hrs later so that I could give a better description 😀
I'm curious about the mango note, so I've been looking a Leen. I don't think I want the Yara Tous version of Mango, but Leen is new and a little more expensive so I'm not sure it its blind buy safe. What do you think?
I would say it's not a safe blind buy. It's quite green. It's nice and I enjoy it but it certainly isn't a "really ripe mango" which is what I was anticipating. It's a bit more green with some floral elements. That said, I think it will be extremely refreshing in the summer...it's a lot more natural smelling than Yara Tous!

I have Honor and Glory and like others said, if you let it sit I believe the scent will develop like it's supposed to and get stronger. I've had mine for a month and it's great!
I also have had Velvet Rose for a month and its kind of a jammy rose now. Which I like!
Yara Tous is supposed to smell like mango coconut, but i hate coconut scents so im just going off of what I've heard.

What company did you buy from to receive so many bottles cracked from my ask because I’ve had one particular fragrance place that I buy perfumes from and they come cracked quite frequently
I got these from perfume online but they were packaged really well. It was -40 c so I think the cold was the culprit in those cases. They refunded the broken ones so it was all good…the weather was the problem. I brought them in and before I got a chance to open them, I heard the package crack!!

I am finding with my ME perfumes that if I let them macerate for a couple of months, it really helps with the true fragrance. Also, spraying a few times beforehand helps. Can you let us know if you like them even better in two or three months? ME perfumes are my favorite.

I don't get anything like Erba Pura from Honor and Glory. There's zero musk in H&G, in fact the only note they share is vanilla. I can't stand Erba Pura or most of it's clones (though I bought and like Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Ahmar which is much smoother and a slightly different twist but same kind of DNA as Erba Pura). Honor and Glory is probably in my current top 10 or even 5 at the moment in contrast. Give it a few sprays and leave it for a few days, it's a spicy creamy vanilla with pineapple on top.
I let mine sit for 6 weeks but mine was still so musky, like it enveloped the real scent 😭
@@ultraviolettas there is no musk in it though so you must be perceiving something else as musk? I'm over sensitive to musks so I either like or hate them, but I can always single them out. Spray it a few times a day for a while. Though mine was good within a week.
I’m loving it now. I just needed to warm up to it. I agree, nothing like erba pura. I think it was because the weren’t even room temperature, I had just got them and was so pumped to sniff with everyone!! 🤣🤣
Hopefully you can get a replacement or full refund for your damaged item. There was so much bad packaging and shipping during the pandemic that I don't accept it anymore. Yes, it happens occasionally, but from my experience and from what I've heard from others, damage got way out of hand. If you pay good money, you should get a good product. Things will never improve if we don't demand quality!

When it comes to middle eastern Fragrances I finally managed to get a full bottle of Swiss Arabians Shaghaf Oud Aswad. I'm stoked! I know that fragrance is challenging to most, but I've loved it ever since I've tried it. It's smokey, rosey, dark, deep, rich, oudy, etc. It's unlike so many things I've tried. And it's STRONG which I looooove.
