I have a funny memory about those Pro Set cards. They were based here in Dallas and one day me and my friend were biking through their back area and found a ton of their cards that they'd thrown out in their dumpsters. We being kids scooped up as many as we could and took them home. There were piles of cards they disposed of so we couldn't get them all, but we got all our kid arms could carry.
Somebody somewhere is going to show up with stacks and stacks of full sheet printing plates. I always used to have my eye on the printing plates when I worked at the newspaper but my friend convinced me they were a waste of time.
I'd be happy with a ten dollar box like that just to have fun like you did going thru it, The black gold Gwynns where my favorite

Dang, 12 year old me would be flipping out over this box and I've only watched you go through 2 stacks. But then again as I watch, 43 year old me is pretty stoked too. Cool find for $10!

I probably would've passed simply because of the condition but I know how you feel about looking for random bangers in a cheap box. It is definitely fun and can be quite rewarding. Congrats on the Wagner gold rookie! Looks like you buying that box was meant to be.

Worth $10 for the entertainment value of going through them even if 99% of the cards are overprinted.
overprinting is definitely a thing but what I have found to be bigger issue is cards from that time period have so few PSA 9 or 10. The drop from PSA10 to PSA7 is massive in terms of what card can be sold for. This is why most people holding their card collections from child are worth very little.
I love boxes like this. Because some 1990 Donruss errors hide in those. I am still missing about 30 cards away from the master set

$10 for the thrill of the hunt and going through some random cards is a small price to pay. Heck....a blaster box full of 2023 Topps baseball with mostly garbage commons in it is around $10!!!!
Definately worth 10 dollars! Billy Wagner card is my favorite! I met him in Tazewell VA a few years ago at crab orchard museum they had a Billy Wagner Day very nice guy, I am a big fan of players from Southwest VA! Some good stars! Enjoyed the video!

that was pretty nice find jon,,,that last stack has the magic johnson topps gold in a penny sleeve hes holding up a trophy it books 15.00 so you did good along with the wagner

if you bought them from Steiner Sports every card would have been an error card and that box would have been 50 thousand dollars.
Taking a 10 flier on that was worth it just for the chance... and it paid off.

So I have been watching your videos for a while now. What do you do with all the cards you don't put in your pc. Do you sort and put everything into sets or pick a select few and re sell? Just curious. Myself I am trying to complete sets and re sell all doubles. I love picking up random boxes just to see what fun is in it. Anyway love the random box/box and pack opening.

I probably wouldnt have bought it. But i buy all the searched boxes from my local card shop. I have bought about 600,000 cards in the last year and kept about 60,000. I collect weird stuff though.

IDK what the current book is but that Manny draft card used to be valuable ($5) so you know you can pick out a few dollar cards here and there
and do well with that box.
The Thomas and Favre are worth $1-2 each. Same for the McGwire. Wagner a little bit more, so you did at least get your money back besides the entertainment value!

Why is it that so many baseball cards say "rookie" on it, but it's not their rookie? Or is there even a good answer for that?
Sometimes there’s not a good answer but during the junk wax era it was kinda the Wild West of different production companies so when you saw something labeled rookie it just meant to that particular brand not necessarily overall
