  • In this video we upgrade the terrible cooling system in the BMW E34 525i turbo. Turned out if only had a bad e36 radiator in there, so we are swapping to something much better too keep the boosted bimmer cool!

    Aldersgrense A tillatt for alle.
    If you don`t want to watch the whole video. Yes you can use an E39 radiator in your E34 for better cooling! I had some pressure pipes in the way, but if you have a normal E34 with no turbo you can have a E39 radiator no problem, just change the mount for the radiator, then you will have a really good cooling system to keep your car to good temperatures when at the track!
    Hope you enjoy my video!

      I saw the compact build that you did with temp gauge after radiator and i didn't wanted to write this but ok, now that you done it on turbo car its probably critical.
      i rly do not want to be a smart ass :D but when you do a temp gauge you should place it at hottest place. for m50 probably on thermostat exit (idk how its for m50, but m52's have stock temp gauge in engine head 10/10) . Don't place temp sensor after radiator where coolant gets cooled and temps are lower then coming out of engine. Because when engine gets to smth like 110. Radiator will not heat up that quick. It will lag behind real engine temp and will show something like bit above 90.
      Im sorry if you will have to rebuild this again :D

      Greta Boost? Dont you mean "Great a Boost"😁😁
      Name surely fitts. Just dont smash a bottle of champagne to her please 🤪🤪
      Zipties can do magic... One of my headlights is secured with a ziptie, becouse I rammed a honda back in 2018, and one of the mounts broke on the left headlight 🤪. So yes, zipties are cool 😁

    The best option would be to fit a radiator from TDS/540i with the seperate expansion tank. However those will require welding in the correct radiator mounting tabs,

    Great job duude !! Big up with your channel! I m watching your channel since i bought my e34 520i , 1 year ago. I allready bought the turbo, an holset hx35 and i hope to boost it up somewhere between 400 and 450 crank hp . I really want to see your car with an higher boost !!

    I would recomend to think about M54 3.0 radiator with electric radiator fan which got signal from temp sensor saving you a lot power when viscotic clutch kicks in. With electric one you add additional switch to turn it on manualy 😉

    5:45 its viscous clutch seems to spin with little load on the viscous gel, causing it not to generate as much air flow, an electric fan would be very cool and efficient

    Hey, thats not a temp sensor for a gauge ou cluster its a sensor that activate an electric fan, now you should throw that old fan and buy an electric one 😊 good luck

    • @mannine99
      @mannine99 4 года назад

      yes, it might be hard to find temperature sensor with that thread, and temperature gauge will live it´s own life between radiator and thermostat. But it will show if thermostat work :) Working viscous fan is very powerful. some shitty 80w biltema fan is far from that airflow/static pressure wise.
