From what I've read the Biolizard wasn't originally it's current size. It started of relatively small but it grew at an alarming rate and grew more mentally unstable to the point where it had to be encapsulated.
According to Shadow the Hedgehog game, Shadow was created thanks to Black Doom's DNA hence the color black and red, however the Biolizard was originally a small lizard but too much DNA splicing made it unstable, needed a life support, could reproduce asexually, had turrets for eyes, made it grow at an alarming rate. Also there's speculation Black Doom helped with it's creation since it also has a Black Arms color scheme and roars used in some Black Arms aliens and in Devil Doom.

The thing about this boss fight it's that it's not actually that hard, but if you screw up once, you got to do it all again. The battle usually takes 3 to 4 minutes to complete, and it becomes really tedious, especially when you die near the end.

Funny enough, this boss didn't scare me at all when I was 10.......... King Boom Boo did. When I try to think of how come the Biolizard didn't scare me as much as it probably should have, the only reason I can come up with is that I was too exhausted of frustration from Cannon's Core that at that point I could literally care less about getting eaten by some salamander from hell. Well actually no, see the Ultimate Life Form Prototype (the bio lizard) was created before then, The Ultimate Life Form was created to help the Government, but instead deemed as “too powerful”, Maria, shadows friend wanted to protect shadow, even sacrificing herself. The reason shadow wants revenge is because of a false memory. The only revenge that Gerald Robotnik had was making the Ark crash, which was made more effective by the bio lizard for some reason attaching itself to the Ark using Chaos Control. In conclusion, Gerald wasnt that crazy. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Crazy how I could beat this boss 1st try when I was a kid but took me over half an hr to beat it now that Im older 😂 that final phase was messing me up
I have had this boss on my mind for like 4-6 years after I beat it, and i completely forgot what game and what name it was. Man do I remember this thing!
I remember when I first got to this point and heard the beginning of the soundtrack with the type writer sound clicking slowly: it made me feel weird and kind of scared cuz of how it sounded like lol. Even til this day the intro of this sound still gives me chills
Yes this boss battle was on Sonic X for a short time,And this boss can be tricky for new players. I enjoy the music on this boss battle cause Shadow is proving to everyone that he is the Ultimate Life.
That intro with the weird movements and the song starting scared me when I was a little kid. Haha definitely a level I played with the lights on when I was downstairs alone at night. Good times.
I think Gerald programmed it's poor cyborg brain to defend the Chaos Emeralds from interlopers and act as a plan b in case someone stopped the ARK's crash.
I just realized, the Biolizard and the Finalhazard are the only two bosses that not only have different camera work upon defeat, but also the only two whose titles zoom towards the screen. No other boss in the game does that, I checked.
Chicojim Productions because the biolizard was supposed to be the ultimate life form complete but was in bad shape due to the humans, also, it had a disease, because the humans hated the biolizard, so Gerald made the life form a hedgehog, because he wanted the life form to be aagile and powerful, and then, if he humans tried to capture shadow, and then stuff I don't know happened
I always thought it was because Professor Gerald saw the mural at Lost World from Sonic Adventure 1 and the mural at Hidden Palace and try to recreate two beings that can harness chaos energy. Lost World mural - Perfect Chaos - Biolizard Hidden Palace mural - Super Sonic - Shadow It would fit nicely why Shadow has his quills pointed upwards like Super Sonic and why Biolizard makes the same roar as Perfect Chaos.
This is my second favorite boss in the game, it has the best and longest gameplay, REALLY GOOD music like I can’t stress that enough, Shadow’s character arc, and an actual difficulty spike This boss is GOATED

0:47 Look at the Biolizard over here casually spamming Gravity.
This was Gerald Robotnik's revenge for The ARK Massacre? This guy really lost his sanity when Maria died.
Crazy how I could beat this boss 1st try when I was a kid but took me over half an hr to beat it now that Im older 😂 that final phase was messing me up
A sentence I cannot believe I am about to say:
"I hope the biolizard is the Climax fight of Sonic the Hedgehog 3."
I have had this boss on my mind for like 4-6 years after I beat it, and i completely forgot what game and what name it was.
Man do I remember this thing!
biolizard and king boom boo were terrifying bosses
King Boom Boo ticked me off just as much as he scared me
I remember when I first got to this point and heard the beginning of the soundtrack with the type writer sound clicking slowly: it made me feel weird and kind of scared cuz of how it sounded like lol.
Even til this day the intro of this sound still gives me chills
Yes this boss battle was on Sonic X for a short time,And this boss can be tricky for new players. I enjoy the music on this boss battle cause Shadow is proving to everyone that he is the Ultimate Life.
when i played this when i was 11 or 12 this boss was so hard now its easier but i might still die at the jumping on orbs part
“Brother, I think you reset my voice module button, brother!!”
That intro with the weird movements and the song starting scared me when I was a little kid. Haha definitely a level I played with the lights on when I was downstairs alone at night. Good times.
Today I realized that the Biolizard is stomping to the beat.
I rage quit this bad boy so many times. Lmao
Think it took about 20 lives to finish it the first time.
This guy makes it look so easy. xD
i actually found this boss pretty good and challenging, tho the last attack kinda sucks
The most scary and hard boss in the game
The biolizard was just a scared animal, Shadow showed up and tried to murder it so it panicked
I think Gerald programmed it's poor cyborg brain to defend the Chaos Emeralds from interlopers and act as a plan b in case someone stopped the ARK's crash.
I hope it’s in sonic 3
SA2 Biolizard's voice lines is just Perfect Chaos an jaguar roars.
I just realized, the Biolizard and the Finalhazard are the only two bosses that not only have different camera work upon defeat, but also the only two whose titles zoom towards the screen. No other boss in the game does that, I checked.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BREAKING MY EARS 2:19
Imagine if... the Biolizard (from Sonic Adventure 2) return and take revenge on Shadow the Hedgehog for some reason?
How the f*ck did the ultimate life form go from Biolizard to Shadow??
Chicojim Productions because the biolizard was supposed to be the ultimate life form complete but was in bad shape due to the humans, also, it had a disease, because the humans hated the biolizard, so Gerald made the life form a hedgehog, because he wanted the life form to be aagile and powerful, and then, if he humans tried to capture shadow, and then stuff I don't know happened
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I always thought it was because Professor Gerald saw the mural at Lost World from Sonic Adventure 1 and the mural at Hidden Palace and try to recreate two beings that can harness chaos energy.
Lost World mural - Perfect Chaos - Biolizard
Hidden Palace mural - Super Sonic - Shadow
It would fit nicely why Shadow has his quills pointed upwards like Super Sonic and why Biolizard makes the same roar as Perfect Chaos.
It’s sonic games and 2001
Shadow has the n word pass
Am I the only one who thinks this boss is pretty cute?
+紅シュウ(Sousuke) It's really cute when it stomps it's foot to the music.
Thank God, I thought I was the only one who found it cute.
nope. You are not alone. ♥
オロチベッドマン woah really? Damn i never noticed the foot stomping, thanks lad.
My dream is to get a biolizard plushies :3
Anyone notice that he sounds like Perfect Chaos at 2:13?
Because it uses the same roar as Perfect Chaos
for some reason ive been stuck on this boss for way too long maybe i just suck at video games but when the pink orbs appear i always die
This is my second favorite boss in the game, it has the best and longest gameplay, REALLY GOOD music like I can’t stress that enough, Shadow’s character arc, and an actual difficulty spike
This boss is GOATED
this shit SCARED me as a kid. really. i had nightmares about the biolizard WAY too many times for my liking
"You tortured soul..."
I love how this theme and crisis city theme are used for sonic exe but this theme fits it cuz it’s mysterious and horror like
why does the ost feel like it was made 10 years later the stage was out?
I noticed how that boss reminds of the Queen Metroid, but it's ironic that Queen Metroid's first 3D appearance would be in Metroid: Other M roughly nine years later.
how has it taken me this long to realize some of the Biolizard's screams are the exact same as Perfect Chaos
Snapcube’s fandub over this was genius!
The biolizard is one of my favourite bosses from sonic adventure 2
