Yes, there was hardly any build up, so it coming out of nowhere was surprising/nightmarish (and the music further adds the creepiness). The sight of the Biolizard is a tragic, yet deformed monstrosity. Sonic and Shadow did it a favor by giving it a mercy kill. There was a scene where Shadow confronts Rouge and she’s holding a newspaper that shows the Biolizard (but most players probably didn’t notice).

Good lord you made Shadow's 1v1 with Biolizard look way tougher than it really is. Even so, of all the Sonic game boss fights, this is my favorite. The cut scene of Amy peppin up Shadow, then Shadow steppin up to buy time for Sonic n Knuckles, it's just fuckin awesome!
Omochao tip: the surfaces are designed to absorb attacks. It's invincible! As long as he's equipped with that red life support system, he's invincible.

To be honest I think the biolizard is a pretty good villain and pretty underrated in my opinion! Of course it's no one of my favourites my favourites are Mephiles and Solaris but I still think the biolizard fits perfectly as a final villain and had alot of potential of being the ultimate life form for the villains

Sure it needs a life support system but like... what does Shadow have to offer? The only thing he has the Biolizard doesn't is super speed. Even when it comes to energy attacks the Biolizard can clearly do that too as well as altering gravity. I mean which other Boss in the entire Series can truly claim that they have invincibility on paar with Biolizard? The only reason Super Sonic and Shadow could even damage the Biolizard in space is because of the boils that formed on it's body as a result of missing it's Life Support. Attack anything else than the Boils and it does nothing. Literally more tanky than any of the ancient gods that were summoned in the entire Sonic franchise.
