With all this games flaws, gameplay wise, this plot was a the perfect way to complete Shadow's character development.
And 06, despite its massive flaws, was a great continuation of Shadow’s character after this game.

I hate how you have to fight Devil Doom for 8 minutes just to discover Shadow is indeed the original and not an android replica from Eggman. Mainly because I felt immense sadness and hurt that when I was younger that the ending line “Goodbye forever, Shadow the Hedgehog” was from a replica saying goodbye to his predecessor instead of it being the original saying goodbye to his past. Gosh, that pain is alleviated but the scars remain.
24:10 that line should've said we were all wrong about Shadow and paying Homage to him instead of the Professor
I can't believe I didn't have the patience to reach this point. Devil Doom is an underrated final boss. For some reason, this boss reminds me of all the abusive parent and abused child stories I've seen and read because I've noticed that Black Doom has told Shadow that he brought him into the world and he can take him out of it like a(n) abusive parent(s)who feels entitled to their child/children and their loyalty and obedience. And I noticed Shadow defeating Black Doom is like a child/children escaping a(n) abusive parent(s) and cutting them out of their lives forever. The best part is the ending where Shadow gets to start a new life much like a survivor of abuse. ❤️
Indeed, Black Doom gets way to much hate as a villain and honestly has a LOT of symbolism to him
Black Doom's lustful passion for parental control made him a target of the child rebellion that Shadow unleashed. That is why I prefer NOT to make that mistake.
The Black Arms knowing of and needing the emeralds was some next tier foreshadowing(pun intended). Even tho they told us outright in the Archie comics, the fact that they kept this plot point in their back pocket is greatly appreciated
