I like how whoever’s playing this doesn’t finish him off as fast as possible; when streamers make mistakes it replicates the experience of playing this battle as a child, trying hard to break through his lasers and hit him, feeling the pressure of time against you as you try to save the Earth. If you get really close to time-out the Biolizard starts to enter the atmosphere, with a yellow glow in front of him. Was real hype when I played this as a kid.

Best final boss fight in a video game ever. The music was epic and fit the mood and our 2 heroes finally decided to work together after fighting the whole time.
Man the nostalgia of this boss, I think what made it so good was how tense and dire the situation is. Only 5 minutes left to save the work you’re friends cheering you on but also warning you the ark’s getting closer and closer, 2 rivals working together to stop a common enemy, and live and learn in the background is just the cherry on top. One of the best endings in a video game
I always took it to mean that they were implying that The Immortality Research Project was being based off the Ancient Echidna murals. Biolizard being based off of the mural of Perfect Chaos from Adventure and Shadow being based off of the Super Sonic one from Knuckles. All of the Immortality Research Project seemed to be based off of Gerald's research of the Ancient Echidnas, especially considering the Fake Chaoses.
In the Finalhazard's screams, you can hear not only Chaos', but also unsettlingly, Sonic and Shadow's. I'm guessing this theory is basically implied to be true.
The graphics and voice acting are horrendously outdated, but the emotions are very much still there. This was definitely one of the greatest gaming moments of my life

Sonic’s pose when he takes his turn is probably one of my favorite things about this battle aside from the obvious song selection. While Shadow’s arm-crossing pose expresses this is no problem for him, Sonic’s arm spread would express “unlimited power at my disposal” to me when I was younger. This boss battle brings back wonderful memories, short as this really is.

I think it was that his super form was running out. Also if you don’t switch hedgehogs the whole fight, Shadow delivers the final hit. Also Sonic tells Shadow to get back to the ARK. That’s why Shadow fell and Sonic didn’t.
I'm kinda late but what I understood from this boss was that sonic and shadow were taking turns to fight the Finalhazard, so, when you were using shadow, sonic returned to the ark to get rings to stay in the super-form, same when you were using sonic, I thought that shadow was gathering rings as in the in-game audio when you hit the boss, shadow tells sonic "I'll collect the rings, now it's up to you sonic", and... man sonic had used his super form some times already while it was shadow's first time, and just after fighting with the biolizard (and in the cinematic you can see he was already kind of exhausted)
Since the Biolizard fused with the ARK, that makes the entire ARK a part of it’s body. So if you think about it, that makes the Finalhazard the largest final boss in the series! It goes to show since it’s definitely a much bigger threat than Perfect Chaos was.

That means she/he is at least as big as the Earth's outer core, which is a 2400 km thick fluid layer composed of Iron and Nickel. And that is 69% of the Moon's diameter (3475 km), which means that even if we say you're right, Dark Gaia is still bigger.

Has anyone else encountered this glitch before? I'm playing as Shadow, and the final hit is on the Biolizard's neck. I dive down at it, and connect, but as the death animation for Finalhazard starts, Shadow goes "It's up to you, Sonic!" And I switch characters. I get a different angle on the Biolizard's death, since I can still move Sonic around, the boss fight ends like normal, and it plays as though I'd won the fight with Sonic rather than Shadow. It's happened to me at least three times, so I was wondering if anyone else encountered that's.
I think this happened with me when I fought Final Hazard to end the last story for the 1st time but I had to pause the game & go do a little chore, when I came back I was trying to resume but selected exit by mistake, I thought that was a part of the boss fight before finally finishing the boss fight & realizing that it probably happened accidently
Sadly it's also one of the biggest bullshit ones I've seen, about the same level as dragon maleficent in kh1 imo. Those lasers and the stupid egg things, the movement, agh! Whoever did testing for this sucks at their job, Also wish they expanded on it. Both characters at the same time, a ton of rings or whatever to collect between em, one acting as a "decoy" for the lasers while the other deals with it's egg defense and hitting it's weak spot. Instead it's basically a time rushed, pray to RNG those lasers don't overly obnoxiously guard it's weak spot cause you can't do shit about em, oh you also got hit by the eggs now you're basically out of rings and can't just switch out, cause you can't get over to it's other side cause the lasers keep tryna hit you and shit...ugh

Has anyone else encountered this glitch before? I'm playing as Shadow, and the final hit is on the Biolizard's neck. I dive down at it, and connect, but as the death animation for Finalhazard starts, Shadow goes "It's up to you, Sonic!" And I switch characters. I get a different angle on the Biolizard's death, since I can still move Sonic around, the boss fight ends like normal, and it plays as though I'd won the fight with Sonic rather than Shadow. It's happened to me at least three times, so I was wondering if anyone else encountered that's.
Sort of mine just switches characters at the last minute. So instead of Sonic it's Shadow at the end
It's a really rare glitch but i've had it happen too
I think this happened with me when I fought Final Hazard to end the last story for the 1st time but I had to pause the game & go do a little chore, when I came back I was trying to resume but selected exit by mistake, I thought that was a part of the boss fight before finally finishing the boss fight & realizing that it probably happened accidently
Man, this was one of the coolest boss fights. Live and Learn in the background was just icing on the cake.
Sadly it's also one of the biggest bullshit ones I've seen, about the same level as dragon maleficent in kh1 imo. Those lasers and the stupid egg things, the movement, agh! Whoever did testing for this sucks at their job, Also wish they expanded on it. Both characters at the same time, a ton of rings or whatever to collect between em, one acting as a "decoy" for the lasers while the other deals with it's egg defense and hitting it's weak spot. Instead it's basically a time rushed, pray to RNG those lasers don't overly obnoxiously guard it's weak spot cause you can't do shit about em, oh you also got hit by the eggs now you're basically out of rings and can't just switch out, cause you can't get over to it's other side cause the lasers keep tryna hit you and shit...ugh
That Sonic & Shadow dap was clean....
I remember loosing on purpose or just making the fight as long as possible just to hear the song
Splatoon 3 story mode is basically playing a modern mix of Sonic Adventure 2 and Mario Sunshine

It's criminal how easy this boss is, especially when the normal biolizard boss is so much harder.
Regardless it's still a very epic final boss, well, as epic as giant lizard with a metal pole up it's ass can be lol.
This boss was so much fun to fight literally because the music

This is by far my favorite sonic boss fight ever, the cutscene and everything plus the music, and the story telling, this just makes it my absolute favorite, I don’t care what you say, this is PEAK sonic

Hazard was the weirdest boss I've seen unless the final boss from sonic unleashed is more uglier in final form.
Only when playing this is that I realized the main theme of the game had lyrics and it made my experience 99999% better
This song just got confirmed for the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, I was so hoping for it and now it will be, God I hope we get to see BIOLIZARD in the movie too, or even just a slight shot of it, I knew they were going to head into the Sonic Adventure/Sonic X part
I remember as a small 6 year old not knowing you could get this ending if you beat both parts of the story and me going to my cousins house and seeing him play thia mission and me screaming "WHAT IS GOING ON" 😮
